Garden Rooms are nestled in the natural island gardens, with a private porch, privacy screen between each room and easy access to the island’s facilities. With 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child, or 3 adults.

“Wonderful Maldives, wonderful diving”

We have been to 4 other Maldive resort islands, Kanifinolhu, Velagnadu, Bandos and Kuredu, admittedly some were 25 years ago plus. This resort was perfectly adequate but we didn’t feel as spoilt or pampered as we did in the other resorts. We had a bad start to our holiday admittedly not down to the resort but due to missed connecting flight thanks to Quatar, we tried to book an extra night at the resort but they were insistent that we pay up front before we could reserve, it was a bit of a chicken and egg situation, should we book flights or hotel first. They would not let us hold the room so we could confirm flights. And then on our departure a day later they said they were going to block our room anyway. We had no hesitation in paying for our room, just didn’t want to pay until we could confirm our flight, did ask to speak to Management but nobody on site, just felt that they didn’t really try to put themselves out to help out situation much. Also, little things that made our other Maldives holidays so special were lacking, it was obvious that they were trying to upsale at every opportunity. Saying that, room was clean, lovely comfortable bed, buffet food was generally good, Diving was spectacular, Ocean discovery trip was very good with lovely food, the launch could have been a bit bigger, struggle for 10 people to sit in it and get fins on etc. Would I go again - we will definitely go back to the Maldives, the thing that bought us to this island was the diving and to be honest that may well bring us back but it truly was a different experience to the other resorts we have been, I would not come back based on the resort alone.

“Theft! 600 dollars in cash was stolen from the safe!”

The cry of my soul! It was my favorite hotel, how many times I sold it to my tourists! Everything was fine until the theft of money from the room from the safe. I discovered this 1 hour before the seaplane. I immediately went to the reception and called the general manager. The staff promptly came to my room, connected the tablet and pointed out to me that no one else had opened the safe using the code. I said that such a safe can be opened with any USB flash drive/screwdriver without specifying a code, to which I received an answer -these are your problems. Everyone spread their hands! I said I would contact the police. But this meant that I would not be able to catch my flights and I would have to buy tickets home again. I asked Josef's general manager to give me at least some information about whether there would be some kind of staff check after my departure - there was no help/response! I did not expect such a situation from this hotel! Take care of your money! Don't keep your money in a safe! upon arrival home, I wrote a complaint to my tour operator, to which the hotel gave false information, as if I knew that the theft had occurred in the evening and reported it only in the morning. I assume that the money was stolen at the last dinner or when we were at breakfast on the day of departure.. I do not recommend staying at this hotel! No one can help you here!

“3rd time at Vilamendhoo”

This is our 3rd time at Vilamendhoo and we continue to be impressed by this resort. The staff that we met were friendly and considerate. Both villas we stayed in were comfortable and clean. We could see the efforts in ensuring that the villas are well maintained. The house reef was amazing. We spent most days just snorkeling around the island and saw many varieties of coral and marine life.
