A Perfect Family Stay at The St. Regis Mauritius Resort
We stayed at the St. Regis Mauritius as a family with our 3.5-month-old newborn son and our three-year-old toddler, and from start to finish the experience was nothing short of exceptional.
As a Platinum Marriott member, we already had high expectations — and the hotel exceeded every single one of them. From the very beginning, we were warmly welcomed at the airport, assisted seamlessly, and taken by private taxi straight to the hotel. Everything felt calm, thoughtful, and incredibly well organised.
Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a beautiful beachfront villa, which was absolutely perfect for a family with young children. From our first moment at the resort to our last, every interaction was marked by genuine kindness, attentiveness, and care.
The hotel lobby area is stunning, opening onto a beautiful pool and leading straight to an incredible beach. The contrast of white sand and crystal-clear, deep blue sea is breathtaking. The sunbeds are extremely comfortable, perfectly positioned under coconut trees, creating a relaxed, tropical atmosphere that never feels crowded.
Travelling with a newborn and a toddler can be challenging, but the team made our daily life effortless. Without even asking, they provided:
• Bottle sterilisers
• Soaps for cleaning milk bottles
• Toys for both our baby and our toddler
• Thoughtful help with everyday routines that truly matter to parents
Every single member of staff — from the front desk to the butler team — was incredibly kind, patient, and proactive. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.
As a father of two, I cannot overstate how important the kids’ facilities were — and they were outstanding.
The Kids Club itself is excellent, with:
• A shaded swimming pool
• Well-organised activities
• Safe, clean, and thoughtfully designed spaces
Most importantly, every single member of the kids’ club team was amazing — warm, caring, and genuinely engaged with the children.
The hotel also offers a nanny service, which was exceptional. We were lucky to work with Prisica, who our daughter absolutely adored. She was incredibly kind, patient, and loving — to the point that our daughter still messages Prisica today because she misses her so much. That alone says everything.
The food was outstanding throughout our stay. With several restaurants on the property, there is something for every mood, but our absolute favourites were:
• Fresh seafood, enjoyed almost daily
• The Indian restaurant, which deserves special recognition
While everyone was wonderful, we would especially like to thank:
• Avish, Nika, and Jaya from the Butler Desk — consistently attentive, kind, and proactive
• Ashwina, the manager of the Indian restaurant, who was truly exceptional. She welcomed us not like hotel guests, but like family. Her warmth, humour, and genuine love for children were astonishing. She treated our kids as if they were her own, and every visit felt special because of her.
It is rare to find a luxury resort that combines world-class service with such authentic human warmth, especially when travelling with very young children. The St. Regis Mauritius achieves this effortlessly.
This was not just a holiday — it was a stay where we felt relaxed, supported, and genuinely cared for. We will remember this experience for a very long time and cannot wait to return.
Highly, highly recommended — especially for families with young children.
