Idyllic location and perfect suites on the beach. Food is high quality and global in its themes, the Floating Market a favourite of ours and the Japanese chef is also amazing. Service is outstanding everywhere frankly. Ravi our butler anticipated every need and was outstanding. Organised a boat trip to swim with dolphins, acquired a waterproof case for our iPhone and ask the skipper to pick us up from the beach right outside our suite (and lots of other things). There were different free 'activities' to choose from every day from latte art and mixology to SUP and glass bottomed boat trips. A weekly sunset 'management meet and greet' with a champagne sabring on the beach is a fun thing to do and you pick up tips that help you make the most of your stay. Jennifer, Emily, Manisha and Veena light up the morning at the fabulous breakfast, remembering our coffee orders. I've never seen such a varied and comprehensive breakfast selection. Including a toddler level self serve area. The chef and brigade are smiley, charming, hard working and remembered my eggs order. It's these little 'attention to details' that made the stay so relaxing and memorable. Vymal and Matai provided great entertainment and education at the cocktail bar with their encyclopaedic knowledge. Yogy and Dinash helped our motivation and skill in the well equipped gym every day. The yoga on the beach was great too. On the beach, towels, food and drinks appear at the touch of a button as you might expect but Vicky and Atul seemed to instinctively know when a glass of wine or a lunch was needed and were happy to arrange modifications. Smitesh was always around checking we were having the best stay, organising barista training and a visit to afternoon tea of The Ritz standard. The spa ladies were so good, we ended up having 3 massages over the 10 days and my wife had a facial that she loved. Overall we'd recommend a long stay here. Everyone works hard to make sure you're having the best time and moves fast to sort anything out (so do mention anything you need). JB, the Hotel GM is everywhere discretely checking service levels, and mixes happily with guests (if they welcome that). Lovely to see. The concierges and welcome team at the 'front door' were fast to help us if we needed it. Now we're back home, we're still in the habit of saying good morning etc to everyone we meet, which is no bad thing in todays political climate. Read less

My husband and I spent 11 wonderful nights at the St Regis Le Morne in Mauritius. It was our 7th visit to the Island and our first to the south west. The water was warm and crystal clear and about 25 C, the weather mostly sunny around 28C. a perfect time, no cyclones, no overwhelming humidity or heat. Our room was quite far away from the restaurants, bars and the main pool and the walk to get there pleasant through the flowers and trees. A buggy to take us either way only a call away if we wanted. It is a large hotel with five excellent restaurants but the lay out is such that there are no two rows of beach chairs and we never felt crowded. The rooms are in two story houses, beautifully appointed with large bathrooms and a TV that you can cast to. Press reader is available to all guests, something I really enjoyed. The internet is fast and reliable even as we lay at the beach. The hotel has a butler service that you can call or WhatsApp for all your needs. We were fortunate enough to have TEJ at our service. I would message every morning to book our table at one of the restaurants, he would come back with confirmations and suggestions for the day, it became an easy pleasant and reliable way to plan without being overwhelmed. On the beach we had YASH, every morning our 2 beach chairs were covered with towels, there was an ice bucket with water and flowers on the small table and he took our orders with a smile. My husband enjoyed the gym and several private yoga and Pilates classes, Andrea and a young lady Mauritian Yoga instructor were perfect for him. I took to the Spa. The products used were unfamiliar to me, Margy's from Monaco, and I enjoyed several treatments in including tailored Massages by Angela.. brilliant! The spa is beautiful, the rooms of wood and marble, a Haman, a sauna and a jacuzzi are available to all guests but booking through your butler is required. The restaurants are Japanese, Thai, European.. whatever you long for but the quality is first class. We joined the "Chef's Table" for a night with Chef Rishi, every course was balanced and we were able to see it prepared and walk off with the recipes. Our second "Chef's Table" experience was with Chef Jennifer. She specializes in Vegan food and fermented drinks, the spa serves her probiotic pineapple before treatments and the breakfast buffet her Kombucha. Everything on our plate was made in her "laboratory" . It was an experience and we walked off with our heads full of ideas how to experiment. The breakfast buffet is a sight to behold, everything fresh and baked even the yoghurt is made on site. The pastry chef could have been in Paris. What we should have been told is that we need shoes for the beach because it is a coral reef and difficult to get in the water if you do not have. For us, an older couple, it was the perfect stress free holiday. we were left in peace when we wanted that and the service suited us. We met a few couples with young children and the facilities for childcare received a lot of praise by them. There is a wind and kite surfing club at the end of the beach and I met several Europeans who consider this some of the best in the word, wind waves and sun. I am not sure how well it would suit families with teenagers It is a bit far from town, no big parties while we were there and motorized water sports are tide dependent. what will make us return are those who's names I mentioned because they made our stay special. Just back home after an astonishing week at this wonderful hotel. Not only is the location absolutely perfect on a beautiful, long, white beach under Le Morne mountain but the accommodation and restaurants are delightful. The very best thing, however, is the staff who are always smiling, great at their roles and have a real desire to make sure every guest has the best experience possible. It's difficult to single out specific staff, as the whole team are incredible, but for us a few really do deserve a special mention. Firstly, thanks to Selvina for keeping our room looking clean and tidy. Big shout out to Neetish in the restaurant who is not only one of the hardest workers we have ever seen but so very friendly and helpful. He genuinely wanted to ensure our dining experience was the best it could possibly be. Vince, Head of Food and Beverage is absolutely on top of his game and the restaurants are top class. Vimal in the Cocktail lounge was so lovely and, like many others, has a real love of the St Regis. Last but absolutely not least is Matai, an absolute magician of a mixologist - never have we seen or tasted such delicious creations. He is so incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about his craft and can tell you the history of any cocktail and the heritage of the ingredients - thank you Matai, we really enjoyed your company, you are an absolute gem! As I have already said though, every member of staff at this hotel is a credit to the St Regis brand. Read less
