The hotel

If you’re chasing that perfect luxury holiday to Mauritius, the St. Regis Le Morne Resort is the kind of place that doesn’t just tick boxes - it tears up the list and hands you a cocktail. Set on a postcard-perfect beach at the foot of Le Morne Brabant, this 5-star resort delivers head-turning views, next-level service, and the kind of laid-back luxury that makes you forget what day it is. Inside, the suites are all about space, style and sea views – with plush beds, private terraces, and yes, a bathtub you’ll absolutely overuse. Dining is a global affair, from Michelin-starred Indian flavours to grilled seafood right on the beach. And just when you think it can’t get better, there’s a 24/7 butler service, a dreamy spa, and a long list of water sports, from paddle boarding to kitesurfing at the legendary One Eye spot. Families are welcome too, with a brilliant kids’ club and teen hangout, so everyone’s happy (and you get a bit of peace). Whether you’re honeymooning, celebrating, or just in need of some serious sun-soaked luxury, this is Mauritius done properly.

We spent five days at the St. Regis Le Morne at the end of July, and the setting truly is spectacular. The rooms are beautiful and thoughtfully designed, and the entire property is immaculately maintained. The gym was unexpectedly excellent — fully equipped and a pleasure to use daily. One of the true highlights was the staff. From the moment we arrived, nearly everyone we interacted with greeted us by name and remembered our preferences — from coffee orders to towel setups. That level of attentiveness really stood out. That said, there are a few areas that could use improvement. The butler service — typically a St. Regis signature — was noticeably slow. It took 20 minutes just to get a response in WhatsApp, which felt out of sync with the brand’s usual service level. Unfortunately, we were also unable to get a spa appointment during our stay. On the day of departure, we prearranged with the front desk for a bellhop to collect our luggage at a specific time. After waiting 15 minutes after the designated time, we messaged for an update and were told they were on their way — ten minutes later, we ended up carrying everything ourselves. Finally, a strong word of caution: avoid the hotel’s transfer service. Our vehicle reeked of cigarette smoke, and the driver spent a good five minutes yelling at us for being late — not exactly the send-off we had hoped for. Overall, St. Regis Le Morne is a stunning property with warm, welcoming staff and incredible facilities — but there are a few operational lapses that fall short of the St. Regis name. Read less

We spent almost two weeks at the St. Regis and it was an unforgettable family holiday. The philosophy of “ultimate elegance and attention to detail” was visible in so many moments: the housekeeping, the fresh flowers, the care for the gardens – everything was done with quiet perfection. The service was outstanding, always attentive, never intrusive. The restaurants were excellent, with a wide choice of cuisines. We especially enjoyed the Indian restaurant and the Boathouse at the beach. Breakfast was generous and relaxed, and the staff always remembered our preferences. For families, the pools and the relaxed atmosphere were perfect. Our children loved playing in the water and we truly appreciated how flexible and kind the staff was with them. We left with beautiful memories, hundreds of photos, and the feeling that we had been truly cared for. Thank you, St. Regis, for a wonderful holiday – we hope to be back one day. Read less

Absolutely loved my stay at St. Regis Le Morne! The service was top-notch, and the staff were friendly, polite, and always ready to help. The highlight was the exceptional food at INDYA, prepared by Chef Malik – truly unforgettable!
