I made a reservation at Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel on Jan 27, 2025 for a stay from Apr 11-17, 2025. The day after I made it, the property cancelled my reservation without telling me. It was only a week before I arrived when I called to verify arrival that they notified me that I had no place to stay. Vicki(?) was the guy who relayed this info and claimed that I had cancelled it myself. I asked to speak with manager who told me that they couldn't cancel without customer's consent but neither I nor the Hotels.com rep provided consent. I was told I could log onto their website and reserve a room but it was now 60% higher than my original reservation. This is a scam. To date, I have never received an email that my reservation had been cancelled. Glad I didn't show up at desk with no place to stay. Would never book this hotel again.

A great value for the money!

My family and I really loved how the hotel is set up. You enter from the outside, but everybody has an indoor balcony that you access through the back door of your room. There were all sizes of trees in the indoor area that provided more privacy, along with a hot tub and bar area. That bar was not open when we were there, but there were many seats…

My family and I really loved how the hotel is set up. You enter from the outside, but everybody has an indoor balcony that you access through the back door of your room. There were all sizes of trees in the indoor area that provided more privacy, along with a hot tub and bar area. That bar was not open when we were there, but there were many seats too, sit and talk on the first level. The staff is very kind and helpful. The outdoor pool was closed for the season while we were there so I don’t have an opinion about that. They provide a really great breakfast but it’s not free. It is very affordable though. The buffet was about $12. You can’t even eat at McDonald’s for that in that town. Ultimately, we had a really good time and didn’t spend a ton of money. If you are looking for a cost-effective place to stay to see the south rim of the Grand Canyon, this is a number one pick in my opinion. It is only a five minute drive to the south entrance of the Grand Canyon national Park.

It's a maze of a motel.

Unfortunately, the Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel did not meet my expectations. Despite its name, it was a motel, not a hotel. The layout was confusing, resembling a maze and making it difficult to navigate. Overall, the experience did not meet my standards.
Good Stay

We had a brief but very good stay here. First, the location - it’s great if you want to visit the Grand Canyon, so close. The room itself was not updated but clean and functional. And then really it’s the people, the staff. All warm and friendly and helpful. We most especially appreciated Susie. She was fantastic in helping us plan our Grand…
