"One" is the lowest we can give, but they do deserve that one circle for doing a good job with cleanliness. The only cleanliness issue is they do that weird thing where the end of the too-short pillowcase is tucked in so when it comes untucked (almost immediately) the outside of your pillow case was up against the pillow, which of course is not washed. Why does anyplace do that?
Single-pane windows! I haven't experienced those in years, maybe decades. They make for a very noisy stay, from the highway, the parking lot, and the very loud music coming from a club behind the hotel on 3 of the 4 nights we were there.
And lots of noise from inside the hotel too--dogs barking in the hallway at all hours, and a dog barking in the adjoining room for most of the afternoon, evening, and well into the night for one of our nights there, and loud voices in the hallway carry easily into the room. They allow dogs on all floors instead of restricting them to the first floor as many dog-friendly places do. Also watch out for dog crap in the parking lot and on walkways, because there's plenty of that.
The shower had extremely low-flow, making it difficult to rinse off, especially my wife's long hair, so showers took a long time. No exhaust fan or heat lamp in the bathroom. They did have a couple shelves, which helps with the lack of much counter space.
While front-desk staff was nice and tried to be helpful, their methods are not guest-friendly. We had a special rate for two nights, and to add a night before and after we had to make three separate reservations. That shouldn't be a problem, but they locked us out of our room the first morning so we had to go get the keys reset, and it took them a long time to verify our registration and set the keys for the next two nights, then we had to do it again on the third morning. But before we did that were trying to sleep in after being very sleep deprived, but the maid came banging on the door telling us "you are overstayed." When we first checked in the clerk assured us that the key was set for all four nights.
The maid also entered our room one morning while we were out even though we had the "do not disturb" sign on the knob.
Then there's the cigarette smoke. It is NOT a smoking-free property (as they claim). You must walk within about 15-20' of the smoking area they have set-up to go between your car and the main entrance from the parking lot. More often than not, there was smoke to walk through and around the car, sometimes a lot.
That smoking area is also right on the walkway from the parking lot to the nice little shopping center behind the hotel. You'll want to use that walkway because there are several nice restaurants over there, way better than the one in the hotel.
The elevators were also oddly small, and slow. The mattress was very firm, uncomfortable for me and probably most side-sleepers (which is most people), but it had a couple inches on top that was a bit cushy so it felt OK if lying on one's back. It gave me shoulder and hip pain.
Also, they provide a lot of inconsistent information between various places on the web site, signs posted on the property, and what they tell you when you speak to staff. And I couldn't figure out what made our room a "premium" king, and the staff couldn't tell me either. It wasn't very big, much smaller than they look in the photos (or else they didn't really give us the premium king we paid for). No microwave.
