First the good… employees are very nice and the buffet breakfast is really good. The restaurant is nice as is the bar. Unfortunately the hotel building is very old and was not designed with the ocean nearby as the room views are just okay and they have no balconies. Unfortunately the hotel building is very old and was not designed with the ocean nearby as the room views are just okay and they have no balconies. The pool and hot tub are in the center courtyard on the second floor of a tall building so they get about an hour or so of sun. I would pick a different hotel for a real Monterey experience.

After checking in both days I went to the bar for some food and drinks. On 5/21/2025 Connor (bartender) night mgr and host provided amazing customer service. On 5/26/2025 Angelina was great both times, the same host was there both times. I also was allowed to check in early 5/26/2026 (after 4 days of camping, I needed an early check in) and was upgraded to a room in the 6th floor on the corner with a partial beach view. Room was great, bed and couch were so comfortable. I did have an early flight the next morning so I received my wake-up call.

Noisy room but great location

A really great hotel - friendly staff, clean and comfy rooms. The hotel is central to the Main Street and we were lucky enough to catch the farmers market when we arrived. The rooms on the street can be quite noisy (this quietened about 10pm) but it’s worth it for the sea view.

Always a great stay here. Friendly staff, comfortable and clean rooms, plus good breakfast choices. Valet is a little pricey at $39+tax but worth it. I always enjoy the rooms with a view of the Bay but regardless of where my room is at, it is always a quiet, undisturbed stay. Hotel is also a convenient walk to many other good eateries and shops.
