Monterey Regional Airport (MRY) is approximately 72 km / 50 minutes by car, while San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is about 240 km / 2½ hours by car, depending on traffic and coastal driving conditions.

If you have the money and are willing to spend it on hotels, PRI is the best you can expect for the price. Every detail is well thought out, the place is beautiful, the rooms are luxurious and comfortable, and the architecture is gorgeous. The grounds are also really nice and great for hiking/walking. It really is the best hotel, hands down, that I have ever stayed in.

“Elopement Package Perfection”

We chose Post Ranch Inn for our elopement, and it was truly the perfect experience. The elopement coordination was wonderfully low-stress. Derek took care of everything, and he went above and beyond to secure our preferred photographer. Our ceremony was perfect, and the officiant took the time to ensure our ceremony was special and intimate. The sweet surprise of having our wedding cake set up in our room after dinner was such a thoughtful touch. Breakfast and dinner at Sierra Mar were genuinely five-star. The care and attention from the staff were exceptional, and we had some of the best dishes we’ve ever experienced anywhere. The property itself is magical—peaceful, breathtaking, and so well cared for that you never feel the need to leave. If you go, we highly recommend the falconry experience. It ended up being one of our favorite memories. Post Ranch Inn made our elopement unforgettable, and we can’t recommend it enough. We look forward to returning for anniversaries and reliving the magic you can only find in Big Sur!
