The rooms are not spectacular but are more than adequate with one unique feature, a shower with 3 of the four walls all glass including one looking into the bedroom. Don’t worry, there’s a drape for those of us who are not exhibitionists.
Also, the rooms are spotless.
The restaurants are great…. The Provisional serves an outstanding breakfast and in the evening has a lovely ambience. We also had a fine meal at the Lionfish , which offers seafood, others and sushi.
The only negative is that the hallways to the rooms are, honest to God, grim. The interior designer must have died before they got to that part of the job. Guys, put up some nice pictures of historic San Diego or something!
Two unique perks of the hotel that we did not avail ourselves of were free loan of a guitar ( I play the piano and they don’t offer that) and free use of a Cadillac for 4 hours.

Gorgeous property, well maintained and friendly staffed. Highly recommend. Location is close to trolley and easy to get around. Multiple restaurants to choose from. Check out the complimentary guitar you can check out for extra ambiance!

During my stay, someone entered my room uninvited, accompanied by their dog. This was a significant breach of privacy and security that left me feeling unsafe and violated. Despite bringing this to the attention of the hotel, the situation was poorly handled.
To make matters worse, no formal incident report was filed, which is a standard procedure in situations of this nature. This lack of accountability, coupled with the dismissive responses I received, makes it clear that guest safety and satisfaction are not prioritized at Pendry San Diego.
For a hotel that markets itself as a luxury property, I expected far better care and professionalism. I cannot recommend this property to anyone seeking a safe and respectful stay.
