Our experience was great. We were in town for my sister’s bday. We were both born in Chicago and hadn’t been back in many years. DeAndre was so welcoming and helped us with our luggage. Would recommend!

Olga at the front desk was a huge help with all her recommendations on restaurants and gift shops, not to mention the daily friendly smile she greeted us with each day. I highly recommend this hotel. Writing this review for Deandre and Jordan at the Virgin Chicago. In summary our rez got mishandled significantly for an important occasion. Won’t go into detail because candidly, management did do their best to do right by us and it’s appreciated. Good times were had in spite of. But BEFORE the solution was found Deandre was the first face the first impression and it was charismatic, professional, friendly and very helpful. Jordan was at the desk and held it together as my wife “unleashed the hounds” nothing out of hand but she was justifiably frustrated. Jordan managed to calm her by expressing empathy and a determination to right a wrong. It was THESE TWO that saved the experience of a birthday celebration months in the making. Life comes with surprises and disappointments- refreshing that someone in HR secured team members who understand customer service. Well played guys. I had a phenomenal birthday! The staff on the roof were extremely accommodating and all parties enjoyed the night. Read less

Chad is the best !!!! I had a wonderful time, and he is fantastic at what he does. One of the best concierges I’ve ever come across at a hotel. He kept a professional in every sense of the word and was able to accommodate me with an incredible personality and help me navigate my way around Chicago.

We stayed here for the weekend and had many problems throughout our stay. The water temperature in the shower would go from ice cold to scalding hot so every shower was very uncomfortable. The mini bar has a good variety but make sure to check the expiration dates because one of the beers I had was expired for 2 years and a San Pellegrino was expired for a month or so. We booked through Amex since it is part of their hotel collection; we got an early check in and the property credit to spend, which we did at the rooftop bar (more of a club than a nice place to relax and have a drink). We did not get a room upgrade or a late checkout, and that was the first time we haven’t at a Hotel Collection property. I know they’re on an as-available basis but something to note. Lastly, BEWARE of the resort credit. It was $30/night and nobody told us about it during check in, and there were several benefits that weren’t communicated to us that would have been nice to know about. The location is alright in the north part of The Loop, but we won’t be staying here again. Read less
