Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort

The hotel

Enjoy an aloha-style welcome at the award-winning Outrigger Reef. You can take in the stunning ocean views, relax among the Polynesian canoe art and soak up the sun by the pool. In need of some peace and pampering? Look no further than the elegant Spa — we recommend the traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage. But if you like to be more active, why not set sail in a catamaran (keep your eyes peeled for spinner and bottlenose dolphins) or enjoy a paddle in the surf in an authentic outrigger canoe. If you prefer dry land, amble along the Waikiki Beach Walk promenade, stopping at a café on route, or take a hike to Point Leahi at the summit of Diamond Head. Back at the hotel, you can grill-your-own hand-carved steaks and fresh fish by the beach or dine poolside at Kani Ka Pila Grille, as you watch the live evening entertainment.

The hotel and rooms are very nice with beautiful furnishings. The bed though seemed a bit too old, a little saggy. Also, for the price paid a few extra dollars per room better toilet paper could be furnished. Other than these two issue the Reef was great.

Aloha Outrigger, We love this company and have worked with them for a number of years. On our visit, we were able to stay for three days, two nights, which was not enough. Beautiful hotel that is right on the beach. We loved the position which is just off the main high street, but within walking distance of everything. We had a sea view room with club lounge access which was amazing. Hotel is spotlessly clean and staff friendly and helpful.

Beautiful hotel that is clean and the staff are very friendly and inviting. We loved how it's right on the beach and close to everything so we could walk. We never had a car. We book excursions that a bus would pick us up close by so there was no worries. The pools and hot tubs were clean and beautiful.

Our dream honeymoon, saved up for 5 years and delayed due to COVID, turned into a nightmare thanks to Outrigger Reef Waikiki. After a 3-flight journey from Atlanta, we arrived late Tuesday night to be told our reservation didn’t exist even though it was booked and verified 3 months in advance through a trusted corporate service. The front desk was cold and unhelpful, offering us a “discounted” rate of $2,500 more than the cost of booking directly online. No apology. No solution. Just a shrug and “there’s nothing we can do.” We stood in the lobby, heartbroken, trying to figure out where we could stay on the first night of our HONEYMOON. The whole experience was humiliating and felt deeply unfair. We were left to believe we weren’t welcome there for reasons we’ll never fully understand. This was supposed to be the trip of our lives. Instead, it was a lesson in how NOT to treat people. Read less
