The hotel

Ocean views, central location and a relaxed island-style atmosphere awaits you at the Park Shore Waikiki. Cross the road and you'll be on the beach in seconds, where you can rent fun inflatables from Beach Candy Waikiki, or try your hand at a spot of surfing (it has to be done in Hawaii doesn't it?!). We recommend choosing a Diamond Head Ocean View room for the best combination when you look out from your private balcony, but you'll also find these great views from the pool deck. You can indulge in your cravings no matter what time of day at Lulu's - there's flavours for everyone to enjoy alongside live music, local draft beers and big screens for sports viewing. This is a great base to explore, with Honolulu Zoo right next door, and Kuhio Beach on the other side, with a whole host of restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance too.

The hotel is usefully located literally right across from the beach - it could not be more convenient - and having the ABC store next door for grabbing snacks, breakfast, and lunch is the most helpful. Lulu's, the attached bar, is yummy and definitely worth a visit or two. (Happy Hour prices are worth it!) Other benefits: 1) the beach towels, the sunblock and aloe, and water bottle filler that are all located for free in the lobby 2) The store next door, Beach Candy, that will lend out chairs, umbrellas, etc. for free, too 3) The front desk staff, particularly Kai and Jules, are all SO friendly and helpful. The rooms are all super clean and have everything you need. Okay, so they're a bit worn down, but you're not spending all your time there, you're out on the beach or sightseeing. The shower was hot, the bed was soft, and I'd very happily stay there again. Mahalo! Read less

We did Yoga at the beach with Paige and Zen Fitness. It was a great way to begin the day. We enjoyed Paige’s instruction and meeting other hotel guests.

Wonderful location being the last hotel on the east side of Waikiki! We paid for 2 rooms and our family was situated on the same floor. However, their “partial” ocean view room we had was right next to the elevators and a bit loud at night. Inquired about upgrading to an “full” ocean view room and was accommodated on the 2nd day of a 4 day stay thanks to Olivia! Much better room and view obviously! These rooms are a bit tired: bathrooms need updating with fixtures, rooms with balconies are dirty with pigeon/dove poop, carpet is old/rundown, and the pool needs to be resurfaced. Customer service did mention newer rooms on higher floors so maybe they’re in the process of updating? On the positive side: customer service is VERY friendly and helpful! They allowed us to store our 4 surfboards on the bottom floor for easy access, helped us upgrade our room, there’s FREE filtered water, sunscreen & lotion on main floor, overnight parking at the Zoo next door, walk across the street to surf spots, and breakfast cafes right next door! We booked on Booking.com for the best price so I felt like the price I paid and location of our 2 rooms was competitive, but as it sits currently, this is a 3 STAR hotel, so not a Marriott or Sheraton.
