The hotel

Set against the majestic Ko’olau Mountains and overlooking Waikiki Beach, this Sheraton hotel is a real slice of heaven. With sun, sea and sand on your doorstep, indulge in water sports, land sports, wining and dining or simply stake your place in the shade and relax. There are two incredible oceanfront pools: an infinity pool for the adults, a very serene place, or family-friendly Helumoa Pool where the kids can splash to their hearts content. If a spot of pampering appeals, head to Spa Khakara for a couples massage or an individual beauty treatment. Hungry? Kai Market serves farm-to-table fare that showcases the flavours of Hawaii perfectly. It also enjoys amazing views of Diamond Head and the Pacific – a treat for the eyes as well as the taste buds! Alternatively, Rum Fire is the sensuous new spot for tapas and cocktails – boasting the country’s largest selection of vintage rum and playing live island melodies each evening. The Edge of Waikiki lives up to its name – set on the beach, it’s the perfect spot to admire the sunset over a tropical thirst quencher.

Hotel is right on Waikiki Beach. There are shops, places to eat and plenty to do in this location. Parking is very expensive ($55/night). Great location to walk to many other sites in the area. The rooms were lovely. The services fine. We had the sweetest and best housekeepers. Roger was the best and so kind. Upon checkin we were given a room assignment. The rooms were lovely. The services fine. We had the sweetest and best housekeepers. Roger was the best and so kind. Upon checkin we were given a room assignment. Immediately upon entry we could tell this was not the room we reserved and paid for. We felt like they were trying to sneak it by us. All of the items we were told to expect, water bottles, robes, etc never materialized. I had to finally ask for the water bottles at the counter and they acted like I was pulling teeth. Even though this is an overall positive review, here are a few notes: I thought it was odd that the only two hot tubs were at the kids pool. The lagoon pool is certainly beautiful, but make no mistake it is a kids pool. So the addition of the hot tubs make no sense here in my opinion. Adding an adult hot tub on property would be nice. Even though the adult pool is crowded, the staff did a great job monitoring people hogging seats. If you can swing it, I’d consider a day or two with a reserved cabana chair. We are at the Rum Fire the first night. Lovely view but incredibly expensive for what we got. I’d stick to some of the restaurants outside of the hotel. It seems as if the concierge service is outsourced. Expect no help other than offering excursions at a charge. I asked about good snorkeling beaches and the rep (Ikota?) told me she didn’t know because she doesn’t swim and doesn’t like the beach. She needs a new job ;) But overall good experience. The Edge pool was the life saver for us. Definitely the best part of the hotel!! So beautiful. The koi pond was also a highlight! Be sure to go during feeding time. Read less

Roger was an extremely gracious and professional housekeeper. He welcomed me every day and went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that I was comfortable and felt at home in Hawai’i. He is the true definition of the aloha spirit!
