Excalibur

The Strip, Las Vegas

Star rating

The hotel

This good value on-strip casino hotel boasts an enormous pool area and is home to the must-see Tournament of Kings dinner show, complete with knights on horseback, jousting, pyrotechnics and Merlin himself. Las Vegas’s take on old England, the Excalibur would surprise the Knights of the Round Table. But that’s where it leaves England behind and takes on the world. There’s the all-American casino (with 100,000 sq ft of gaming), games arcade, and branch of Johnny Rockets’ famous hamburger chain. There’s Italy, Mexico and Asia (and a bit more America) in its casual restaurants and food court. And there’s Australia in its ‘Thunder from Down Under’ adult show and Australian Bee Gees tribute concert.

It was good underthe circumstances. We were in an accident the 2nd day here. The car would be two weeks to be fixed. So we went to Excalibur. Bed was comfortable and rooms were clean. Noise from cars could still be heard on the 18th floor. Housekeeping did a great job keeping our room tidy.

I recently stayed at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino for a week with my mother, and I wanted to share some feedback about our experience, which was unfortunately disappointing. When we first arrived, everything seemed fine—until I used the shower in our room and noticed it was filling up with water and not draining properly. I contacted guest services to report the issue, and they promptly called engineering and maintenance to our room. Upon inspection, it appeared that the drain was clogged with a significant amount of hair, which was both unsanitary and off-putting. It looked as if someone had been experiencing hair loss and the drain had not been properly cleaned prior to our stay. It was extremely unpleasant. On our last day, we visited TAP Sports Bar, where we had another unfortunate experience. The female server skipped over our table and checked in with other guests around us but never once asked how our meal was or if we needed anything. This lack of attention and care felt dismissive. I want to note that the food itself was delicious, and during a previous visit to TAP, the male server provided excellent service. In fact, both male servers we encountered were far more attentive than the female server we had on our final day. I have attached photos of the shower for your reference. I hope this feedback is helpful and encourages better attention to cleanliness and customer service in the future. Read less
