The hotel

This historic hotel was built by Vegas legend, Bugsy Siegel back in 1946 and it's seen countless celebrities walk through its doors in the last 60 years, as well as being the backdrop for the original Ocean's Eleven film and Viva Las Vegas. It has an amazing location right in the middle of The Strip and near the fantastic Caesars Forum Shops, with award-winning Flamingo Go Rooms. The hotel is great for kids with its amazing Beach Club Pool. The GO Pool offers a 21+ lively pool party experience with its amazing 15-acre tropical pool paradise, which has whirlpools and four different swimming pools nestled among the lush, green foliage. Then there's the Wildlife Habitat, where the resort's eponymous flamingos hang out with turtles, swans and ducks. There's a choice of seven restaurants including Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Margaritaville Casino, featuring the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place. The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, four distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000-sq ft retail store. You can also eat outside by the pool or even enjoy a spot of gambling in the pool casino located at the GO Pool! At the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo, guests feel the energy of the Las Vegas strip while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the islands.

Our room faced the strip and had a great view of the action. The room was clean with pink accents and marble countertops/shower. No coffee maker but had a mini fridge, which we wanted. Hotel is smack in the middle of the strip so easy walk to all the hotels and shops, and even to the High Roller. There was a long line for hotel check in so I gave the mobile kiosks a try. I didnt have a QR code but it scanned my driver's license, checked me right in and gave me my key cards. I gave my cel # and the virtual assistant "Ivy" was actually rather helpful in answering simple questions via texts, like how to get the wifi set up. It also gave me a link that made it super easy to check out. All the pools except the "family" pool were closed & under renovation. However, we were allowed to go to the Linq hotel's pool next door. It was 21+ so no kids! Note: bring your ID. They check ID at the door and we didn't bring ours, but they could tell we were way over 21 and thankfully let us in. They had a live DJ and it was quite the party atmosphere...much more to our liking than the family pool! The tropical grounds and wildlife at the Flamingo are always a treat to see when we come to Vegas. Did not eat at any of the restaurants. When a place (aka Ramsey's burger joint) doesnt even list the prices on the displayed menu, that's a sign it's probably way overpriced. We did get super expensive coffee at the Starbucks. Ouch. The outside food courts next door had better priced food. Our key cards did not work when we wanted to leave the parking garage. There is a button on the machine to call for help, which we did and they let us out of the garage both times. Must be a common problem because the hotel clerk had no other solution. Even with the daily "resort fee" and $20/day parking we still got to stay for less than $100/night. Not bad for a prime location hotel on the strip! Granted it is not a 5 star hotel but for a 3/4 star one it more than met our expectations. Read less

We arrived at the hotel and checked in at 3:30 p.m. after waiting in line for 1/2 hour. When we came up to the room we noticed that the bathroom door was broken. We called downstairs and they said someone would be up to fix it within an hour or two, and were told we didn't need to stay. We went out and when we returned to our room 3 hours later, the door was still not fixed. We called and asked for another room and were told we needed to come downstairs to do so. When we got downstairs with our baggage, we were at first told by the manager, who refused to give us her last name, that the hotel was completely booked and that they couldn't change rooms. We were told that we needed to return to the room and speak to security to make a report. We said that we would not do that, as the hotel needed to fix the broken door and we didn't need to spend even more time dealing with the situation. We didn't understand why we would need to give a report to security, as she seemed to indicate that they would determine whether we were to blame. We asked what would happen if they couldn't fix the door, and she said at that point they could give us an "emergency" room, meaning they had rooms available and were simply unwilling to provide us with a new room. Fortunately, engineering did come up and was able to fix the room. However, we should not have need to make numerous calls and argue with a manager in order to get a broken bathroom door fixed. This was a terrible hotel experience and we will never return to the Flamingo. Read less

I was very unimpressed by this hotel for numerous reasons. They charge you for early check-in fee even when the room is ready and even if it is less than 1/2 hour before check in. All pools were under construction except for one and if anyone went in the water the lifeguard whistled them out. Why? No idea Shower leaked Sink was backed up. Stayed… Read more

The rooms definitely show the age of the property, very crowded. The service was not acceptable to be honest. We opted in for housekeeping at check-in, we called on 2nd to request it & on the 3rd after nothing happened. They came the night before we checked out.

Overall good- love the location and clean property. They were working on pools so disappointed with how packed the one open pool area was- hopefully this will be alleviated with new pool opening. We did experience strong sulfur smell in room, that engineering was working to resolve.
