The hotel

This historic hotel was built by Vegas legend, Bugsy Siegel back in 1946 and it's seen countless celebrities walk through its doors in the last 60 years, as well as being the backdrop for the original Ocean's Eleven film and Viva Las Vegas. It has an amazing location right in the middle of The Strip and near the fantastic Caesars Forum Shops, with award-winning Flamingo Go Rooms. The hotel is great for kids with its amazing Beach Club Pool. The GO Pool offers a 21+ lively pool party experience with its amazing 15-acre tropical pool paradise, which has whirlpools and four different swimming pools nestled among the lush, green foliage. Then there's the Wildlife Habitat, where the resort's eponymous flamingos hang out with turtles, swans and ducks. There's a choice of seven restaurants including Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Margaritaville Casino, featuring the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place. The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, four distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000-sq ft retail store. You can also eat outside by the pool or even enjoy a spot of gambling in the pool casino located at the GO Pool! At the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo, guests feel the energy of the Las Vegas strip while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the islands.

Our room was clean my only complaint is the small bar of soap for the sink and no cream. The shower does have dispensers. The elevator control pad needs to be fixed. It works but you may have to scan the card several times to work. Everytime we were in elevator someone had an issue. We usually do the GO Pool but didn't want to deal with crowds and no seating. The Family Pool is relaxing and you can get a chair and actually have room. You can still hear the GO Pool music and they have a great bar as well. We will continue to frequent the Flamingo due to location and great staff. Read less

We got to the hotel at four per check in time and we're told that the suite was not ready yet and would call us when it was an hour had gone by and we had reservations for a Thai restaurant at seven. We went back down to the front desk and we were told that our suite was still not ready. I had booked my fiancé's suite at the horseshoe and not only where we granted access early but the suite itself was gorgeous. The management then told us that there was nothing that they can do so we put up a fight and they said that they could give us another room. We went to the room and it was a tiny room with two small beds for a group of five of us. I told my fiancé that this was not acceptable, especially for the thousands that we had spent on this suite so he went back down and said you need to make this right they said that they would put us in a larger suite than the one that we had booked, which still was not ready so we had to wait another 45 minutes. Finally, we made it into a suite that was not the girly bachelorette vibe that we were going for and were called at 8 o'clock at night to tell us that the other suite was finally ready and if we wanted to change rooms. What an absolute joke I will never be coming back here. He is a Caesars diamond rewards member and I'm gold and we usually always stay at the flamingo but after this, I will never be spending my money at this sad excuse for an establishment again. We were completely shrugged off multiple times as if our time did not matter. We booked a suite for God sakes that room should have been ready. So disappointed. Where is the reimbursement, the FreePlay at least a free show for us. My entire group, both girls and guys all agreed that they will never be staying at this hotel. Read less

Great hotel, truly terrible service. I’ve never gone out of my way to leave a bad review but unfortunately this experience was atrocious. Our stay was a masterclass in how to ruin a good hotel with shockingly bad customer service. At 4am on our first night, someone pounded on our door claiming there was a leak. No call, no warning — just a strange man demanding entry while we were half-asleep and undressed. When we asked him to wait a moment so I could put clothes on, he repeatedly asked my partner if he was refusing him entry. It was aggressive, uncomfortable, and completely unprofessional. He took some photos and left. No explanation. No follow-up. By the next night, still no word from staff about the leak or our water situation, so we had to go to the front desk ourselves. We were told we had to change rooms and were being "upgraded." What we got? A room with 2 small beds instead of the King size I booked, and with worse amenities having no bathtub like the first room as well as no view…not an upgrade. We called immediately, only to be told we had to come back downstairs and wait in line to fix their mistake. It was 2am. The manager on duty argued with us claiming there were no king beds left— until, surprise, she finally gave us one, after an obscene amount of back and fourth with her. We then called the bellman to help us move yet again — only to be told he was on break and the only one on duty. When we expressed that we needed help because this was the HOTEL’S mess, he hung up on us. So now it’s 2:30am, and we’re finally on a journey with our luggage across the hotel for the third time in one night. We lost sleep, time, and any good faith we had. We liked the room itself, but nothing makes up for being treated this poorly. Not sure if we can give them another chance after all of that, just so dissapointing. We booked five months ahead and still had to fight tooth and nail just to get what we paid for. I’ve worked at multiple hotels and I’ve never experienced such poor hospitality. Read less

Really not a whole lot to say about the Flamingo that is positive. The central strip location is fantastic and provides easy access countless food options and other Casinos on the strip. Besides that, I guess the Flamingo’s in the habitat are cute? Now to what is wrong: -First and foremost, it is important to remember with the Flamingo that you often will not get the room you book. They give away rooms once check-in begins in a first-come first server basis meaning if your flight gets in at 9 PM, you will be given a “complimentary” (will explain this one in a moment) “upgrade” (which is basically the same room and not really any nice or larger, just usually on a different side of the building (frustrating when you are there for a large event where you now need to walk across the casino to get to the escalators or the correct elevators since the habitat elevators don’t stop at level 3. The rooms are acceptable, basically what you would expect at a rundown chain or a newer motel 6. -When I said “complimentary” what I mean is I was charged an additional “upsell charge” of $59 a night for the room I didn’t book and was only put in because they will just give away their entire inventory of that type of room even when you use their app to pre-check-in. So I was scammed out of an additional $354. I will be lobbying hard to get this Chess Tournament moved to a property that doesn’t steal from its guests. Plenty of other ways to lost $354 in Vegas that are much more enjoyable. -The elevators…dirty, run down and they make you use your key card, but half the time one of the readers in the elevator you are in isn’t working. A weird note that the you need to make sure to get the floor number put in before the doors start closing. Good luck around check-in/check-out! Maybe use the money you swindle out of your guests for the “mandatory complimentary upgrades” or downgrades to actually fix this? -I would also note that there is poor sound dampening from outside on the strip. This though is probably expected from an old, rundown building. There was a constant baseline going to around 2 am every night keeping me awake. So I guess another “perk” of the “mandatory complimentary upgrades” that for which had to pay the extra $354. On the whole, glad to be out of there. Would love a refund at least for the $354 overcharge but I will not hold out hope there. Hoping the organizers of the event come to their senses and realize 2 years dealing with the Flamingo is enough. Hopefully I will not have to return to the Flamingo. Read less

My wife and I chose to stay at the Flamingo for a couple nights last week as we were going to a concert at the Sphere and we really wanted to enjoy the new Go pool. The hotel is in a great location. So, we enjoyed it from that perspective. However, during check-in we were asked if we wanted to upgrade our room to a newly remodeled room. The price wasn't too bad, so we did it. We had a room on the 16th floor facing the strip, but right down at the corner by the Linq. Every night there was a loud drumming sound that really kept us from sleeping until about 4:00 AM when it finally stopped. That made sleep very difficult each night. Our biggest complaint though is that the Flamingo charges a $50 resort fee each day. I assumed this was to provide access to the pools and work out facility. However, we soon discovered that anyone can go to the pools. You don't have to be staying at the hotel to go to the pool, and non-guests get in without paying any type of resort fee. That was irritating. In addition, the new Go pool has very few free lounge chairs. The pool opens at 9:00 AM, and if you aren't in line to get in by at least 8:30, you won't get a chair. I honestly would recommend getting there around 8:00 AM if you want a lounge chair. In addition, they do not allow you to bring in any food or drink with you. So, you have to purchase everything there. They did allow sealed water bottles to come in, but that was it. Drinks once in there are also very very expensive. My wife got a 16 oz pina colada one day and it was $40 for the drink, but hey, you get to keep the cheap plastic cup it came in. Read less
