Vdara Hotel & Spa at ARIA Las Vegas

The Strip, Las Vegas

Star rating

The hotel

Designed for those who want to tap into the energy and excitement of Las Vegas but would prefer to enjoy it from an exclusive, non-gaming and smoke-free resort, Vdara is one of few hotels in Vegas not to house a casino. What you get instead is a cosmopolitan, all-suite hotel that feels blissfully private despite being in the heart of the action. The cutting-edge pool is surrounded by private retreats, semi-private plunge pools and cabanas; there’s a world-class spa, and you are a few short minutes away from a dizzying range of dining, shopping and entertainment options, so you’ll never be short of things to do. The Vdara really is an oasis in the desert.

PLEASE READ AS THIS WILL BE IMPORTANT & YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS: We just returned from staying at Vdara. We stayed in a suite. THE GOOD: This hotel doesn't have a casino, which we knew would be a plus. It was nice to check in and not have to go to thru a smoke-filled casino to get to our room. The location - the hotel is connected to Bellagio and Aria - so it makes it easy to go to these hotels without needing to go outside. THE BAD: (where to I begin...sigh!) The room we stayed in (it was an 010 room on the floors in the 35th level) STARED STRAIGHT INTO another room and you could completely see the other person in the room and they could see us! What the ???!!!! Have you ever heard of a hotel room not using 1 way glass??!! We don't find this funny or good in any way! Yes - we can close our shades...but we paid extra for a room with a view of the Bellagio Fountains & the Sphere..so who wants to have their shades closed the whole time? And who ever heard of staring into someone else's room in a nice hotel??!!! This has to be one of the WORST design flaws ever. When we complained about this, the Rooms Manager said "there is nothing we can do. We can't move you as we are full" (we found out later that night that they were only at 55% capacity..so it was pretty bad the RM lied). This is just UNACCEPTABLE!! Room Service - we ordered room service and everything was brought in plastic containers and we were given plastic utensils! WHAT THE ??!! Not only was the food cold - but are you kidding?! What a waste of plastic and what a horrible presentation! I have NEVER gotten room service at any nice hotel in Vegas served in plastic and you are given plastic cutlery! This is a HUGE miss and does not say much for them caring about their guests and how room service is presented/served. Cleanliness of room - There were towels that were not in the right place, a few small tissues (used!!) on the floor and a bath towel that had several silver marks on it. When we called downstairs immediately and told them of this situation - all we were told was "housekeeping cleaned the room. If you want us to send them back we can". The issue was it never should have looked like that to begin with! We paid $$$ for a suite and this was just horrible! Late Checkout - Now this one was just downright rude of the Rooms Manager (again..take into account they were NOT sold out...it's the first week in August...110 outside so it's not peak season). While I understand that late checkout is optional and we get it can't always be done (which is fine). However, when you ask you shouldn't feel like you were asking for something unreasonable and treated with such RUDENESS!! We were told that they could give us an "extra half hour, but then you need to get out". WHAT??? Excuse me?? Who tells their guests "you need to get out"!?? VDARA - DO BETTER!! If you are thinking of staying here - make sure you know what you are getting into (and check that your room won't be staring into another person's room!). Read less

We chose to stay at this property and it is not one we plan to use again. We had a room on the 51st floor. We stepped off the elevator at 11 pm when we arrived and a stench was in the hallway. Two large fans were blowing on the carpet in the hallway so we walked around them to our room which was right beside one fan. The smell was like a wet dog and urine. We could not smell it in the room unless we were in the kitchenette. The small fridge did not have a good temperature - the waters we bought were barely cool after being in it all night. The bathroom sink drained slowly, there was hair in the bathtub (blonde so definitely not mine) and the shower leaked all over the floor even with a towel down on the tile. The second day, the fans were not running in the hallway and the carpet was sopping wet. Mind you there was no other way out of our hallway around it so we can to slosh through squishy carpet. The smell never went away. The carpet was wet across the entire hallway up to our door the day we left. The shades are not “blackout” shades so light comes through them across the entire room. The frosted glass bathroom door sticks out into the doorway and my husband hit his arms on it every time he went in or out. This "resort" felt stale and bland. The lobby smelled nice. I can say that as a positive. And it was close to Cosmopolitan and Aria. Not the experience I was hoping for. Read less

The Vdara was everything I could have asked for. Smoke free, no casino, kitchenette, fountain view, secure. The Cosmo is a 3 minute walk, and the Bellagio is less than 10. Aria is right next door. I could walk to PH and the Mircle Mile in under 20. Center strip, in a great location. We had a 43rd floor parlor with the fountain view. The room feels… Read more

The room feels quite large, and the room service was excellent everyday. Every staff member we encountered were nothing short of excellent. The spa, pool, and lobby bar are great as well, as we took advantage of all three. My wife said it was the best massage she's ever had. A really underrated thing, is not having to walk a country mile through a casino for an Uber, its right out the front door. Would absolutely stay here again, and would recommend to anyone coming to Vegas. Read less

Honestly, not great. The location is annoying as they don't have their own garage so you'll have to walk a bit from the Aria garage unless you want to pay 40$/day +tip for valet. I haven't been able to sleep at all, the pillows are garbage so you should bring your own. God forbid you want to order room service at 9PM they charged the card and… Read more

I haven't been able to sleep at all, the pillows are garbage so you should bring your own. God forbid you want to order room service at 9PM they charged the card and never delivered on the food, better yet, the dining phone line closes at 2PM (which the front desk has no problem transferring you to despite knowing no one will answer). You have to order off that tablet... Which guess what? If it doesn't work, you're SOL. Why can you order in suite dining from the QR code on the TV after it's closed? It doesn't make sense and frankly... This hotel sucks. Oh yeah, and they called our room. One singular ring so that when we picked it up the line was already dead. The solution wound up being to call them when they open and hoping for a refund. The only good thing about it is housekeeping. The employes are great, systematically the hotel is frustrating and migraine inducing. Their IT and the overall experience leaves a lot to be desired. Read less

I stayed in a panoramic suite for 3 nights. Initially I was super excited about the size and quality of the suite — ridiculous views, fantastic layout, huge compared to comparably priced rooms anywhere else. The indoor walkways to Bellagio and Cosmopolitan were also incredibly fast and convenient, and I liked that they and Aria were a 2 minute walk away but there was no casino immediately downstairs (or the smoking and noise). However, the look of it was deceiving. Among many other issues, the suite was dusty and dirty, and reeked of smoke — even though Vdara is supposedly a non-smoking property. Even when I told the front desk, they promised to bring in air purifiers but they did not. I had to ask again the next day. Even after the air purification system was supposedly run, the suite still reeked of cigarette smoke. Service was atrocious. My room was not serviced even when I specifically called down at noon to ask for it to be serviced while I was going to be out of the room that day. When I came back in the evening and found that no one had come, I called again and was promised housekeeping would come right away before I went to sleep. An hour later, no one had come. I called yet again and was put on hold for 20 minutes and transferred to 3 different people. Absurd. Currently sitting here waiting up for anyone to come or get back to me, so I can go to bed. Ugh.
