Neida, the assistant manager spent months talking to me and planning a trip that would be accessible and easy on us. Neida went above and beyond to make this a successful trip. She is truly an angel that I will be forever grateful to. The kindness she bestowed will not be forgotten. The rooms were spacious for wheelchairs to get around. ALL of our rooms had a roll in shower, which we have never had such luck traveling to various locations in the US. I can’t say enough about Neida and the Wyndham New Yorker! Thank you, thank you, thank you and God Bless!!! Read less

There was very weak water flow in the shower. Although the hotel staff tried to fix it, the issue remained unresolved. I called three times asking for someone to come and take care of it, but only on the fourth attempt — after I raised my voice — did anyone show up. I expect better responsiveness and more attention to guest requests in the future.

I booked this hotel months in advance, I explicitly stated I would like a room with a view of Madison Square Garden at the time off booking and also sent a message direct to the property a month in advance. I arrived and was told the only rooms available were on the opposite side facing the East River as this was the only 'view room' available they stated. For the service by the housekeeping and the porters/doormen. They all did their job to the best. It just seems that the reception desk ruined the whole experience as half the experience and money I paid was for the view I requested. Apart from them. All the other staff did a tremendous job. New York was always at the top off my bucket list, I enjoyed every single bit apart from that but. Thinking about it now, sometimes I don't feel like I saw it how I wanted. I just think reception don't realise how much people spend to visit these places even though we pay their wages. Some of them seem to think their boss is sat in the back printing their wages. We loved our stay at the New Yorker. The staff was amazing and they made our stay great. The location is excellent and the rooms were great. The rooms are older, but the bedding felt like it was brand new. The rooms were clean and everyone wanted to help to make sure we had a great stay We will be back!

Needed something close to Penn Station so we could walk' n roll a wheelchair and luggage. Took a chance that the New Yorker was the one and it paid off! More than just the best location. Very good value offering clean, comfortable rooms all served by a splendid staff.
