VIRGIN ATLANTIC ENHANCES RETAILING EXPERIENCE FOR UK TRADE PARTNERS WITH NDC LAUNCH

15 October 2026

London, 15 October 2026 – Virgin Atlantic today announced the introduction of its New Distribution Capability (NDC) in the UK consumer market, marking an important milestone in the airline’s journey to provide a richer, more flexible, and more connected retailing experience for trade partners.

Driven by its ambition to deliver enhanced retailing and content, Virgin Atlantic’s new NDC offering reflects a service-first approach carefully designed around the evolving needs of the industry.

The airline will launch NDC through a phased rollout, with a robust solution and comprehensive servicing capability available from day one. Built in close collaboration with Virgin Atlantic’s partners, this approach will support a smooth transition, ensure partner readiness and provide a strong foundation for wider implementation.

Virgin Atlantic will continue to enhance its NDC offering over time, introducing additional content, richer ancillary products, expanded fare options and new retailing capabilities aligned to the evolving needs of its trade partners.

Direct and aggregator connections will be available from launch, with GDS aggregation to follow, giving agents the flexibility to access NDC content through their preferred channel while delivering a consistent experience across all platforms.

To ensure continuity during the transition, Virgin Atlantic will also continue to provide content access through existing GDS EDIFACT channels for partners who are not yet ready to migrate.

The airline has partnered with Travelfusion as the first supported aggregator at launch and plans to diversify its aggregator partnerships throughout 2027.

Anthony Uphill, Vice President Sales at Virgin Atlantic, commented:

“This is an exciting step forward in our retailing journey, making it simpler for our partners to access the products and services that matter most, while creating more choice and a better experience for customers. We’ve taken a collaborative and intentionally phased approach, listening to our partners and making sure the right support and servicing capabilities are in place from the outset.

“As we move forward, NDC will increasingly be where our best content and retailing capabilities are available. For partners who are new to NDC, we’re looking forward to starting those conversations, and we’re here to support them through the transition.”

Eytan Bicaci Baruh, Vice President Commercial at Travelfusion, commented:

“We are delighted to support Virgin Atlantic’s NDC launch and bring its enhanced content and retailing capabilities to our network of travel sellers. Virgin Atlantic is an important addition to our airline portfolio as we continue our efforts to lead the market with our NDC content.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to helping airlines adopt modern distribution while giving travel businesses access to richer content through a single, reliable connection. We look forward to supporting Virgin Atlantic as it expands its NDC offering across the UK travel trade.”
