Travel Advisory to the USA – Ebola Outbreak Information

In response to the ongoing Ebola outbreak, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have implemented temporary entry restrictions for customers travelling to the United States who have recently travelled from, or been present in, certain countries affected by the outbreak.

On 21 June 2026, the CDC extended these measures for a further 30 days. The continuation of the Public Health Order applies to flights departing after 4:59pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on 21 June 2026.

The restrictions apply to customers who have travelled from, or been present in, any of the following countries within the previous 21 days:

  • Uganda
  • Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)
  • South Sudan

For U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals 

U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals can continue to travel to the United States. However, customers must arrive via one of the designated airports below, where additional public health screening measures may take place on arrival:

  • Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
  • Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)
  • George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)
  • John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)

For customers who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals 

Customers who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals are not permitted to enter the United States if they have travelled from, or been present in, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), or South Sudan within the previous 21 days.

Duration of the measures

On 21 June 2026, the CDC extended the Public Health Order for an additional 30 days. The measures remain subject to ongoing review by U.S. authorities and may be amended or extended further depending on the public health situation.
