About Ansar
Ansar is Interim Chief Financial Officer at Virgin Atlantic, overseeing Corporate Finance, Financial Planning, Finance Operations, Procurement, Fleet and Internal Audit.
Prior to this, Ansar was VP Corporate Finance & Group Treasurer at Virgin Atlantic, responsible for strengthening the airline’s balance sheet through fleet restructuring and liability management. Having been appointed VP Financial Planning in 2018, Ansar was responsible for financial planning throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, leading the business through its cost transformation and capital raising campaign. He was fundamental to completing a $745 million financing transaction of Virgin Atlantic’s slot portfolio at London Heathrow in December 2025.
Ansar joined Virgin Atlantic in 2014 as VP Financial Accounting, successfully setting up the airline’s first shared service centre and transitioning the company to International Reporting Standards.
With a 15-year career in finance, Ansar previously trained as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte, where he supported clients across a range of industries in both an advisory and compliance capacity. Ansar holds a degree in Economics and Politics from the University of London, and lives in Brighton.
