It’s heritage with a twist, a perfect mash-up of Thai, Chinese, and Portuguese influences and the kind of place that makes you want to ditch the guidebook and just get lost.
Head into Khao Phra Thaeo National Park and cool off at Bang Pae Waterfall, or wander jungle trails to the quieter Ton Sai. Near Patong, Kathu Waterfall is a sight to see with tiers of natural pools, a different kind of natural paradise. For something truly epic, take a kayak into the hidden lagoons of Phang Nga Bay. Slip through caves into jade-green worlds surrounded by towering cliffs, nature’s secret showpiece.
