This one-day Las Vegas family itinerary cuts through the glitz to serve up a jam-packed schedule with roller coasters, interactive spectacles, and Cirque du Soleil, so you and your crew can hit the highlights without burnout. Whether you’re travelling with toddlers or tweens, this plan helps you experience the best of Vegas for families without losing your sanity.
Las Vegas, with its endless entertainment, is more set up for a family day out than you might think. Start at New York-New York, where breakfast at Tom’s Watch Bar fuels everyone up for the day. Afterwards, dive into the on-site arcade packed with fairground games and coin-operated classics. For older kids — and the young at heart — step outside for a spin on the famous roller coaster.
A short hop from the strip (grab a taxi or a rideshare, it's not walkable), you'll find the slightly mysterious AREA15 featuring plenty of experiences suitable for all ages including AR Dodgeball and a Laser Maze. There's enough here to easily fill an entire day but a special callout must go to the thoroughly immersive Omega Mart.
After an adventurous day so far, head back over to the strip and work your way northwards from New York New York. Your next stop? The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Time your arrival just right, and you'll catch the Fall of Atlantis: held every hour from 11am, including fireballs, special effects, and costumes designed by the team behind Pirates of the Caribbean. Afterwards, enjoy the air-conditioning, you’ll appreciate it during the hottest part of the day, and browse the 160-odd shops. If hunger strikes again, the family friendly Cheesecake Factory delivers good value generous portions, and, of course, an entire cheesecake menu.
At 550 feet tall, the High Roller Observation Wheel at the LINQ Promenade is the second largest in the world. The 30-minute ride offers sweeping 360-degree views over the Strip, Paradise, and the Las Vegas Valley — a calm, air-conditioned break with unbeatable photo ops.
It wouldn’t be a trip to Vegas without an evening show, and family-friendly entertainment doesn’t get more captivating than Cirque du Soleil. Head to Treasure Island for Mystère — one of eight Cirque shows in Vegas — packed with trapeze stunts, aerial cube performances, and jaw-dropping acrobatics.
Book the earlier show so you have time to dine afterward at one of the casino’s many restaurants, offering everything from pizza and barbecue to Chicago-style hot dogs and frozen yogurt. Once the sun sets and the air cools, finish your night with one last spectacle: the Fountains of Bellagio, one of Vegas’s most iconic free attractions.
