The hotel

Combining old world graciousness with contemporary style, The Kimpton Brice Hotel is an establishment any modern-day southern belle would be proud to grace with her presence. Rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished with armoires and floor. There’s complimentary tea and coffee served in the morning and a hosted wine hour early evening – a great way to meet fellow guests and pick up a few sightseeing tips. There are restaurants aplenty to choose from close by but Pacci Italian Kitchen & Bar is very inviting with the atmosphere of a rustic country farmhouse. Settle down at lunchtime and feast on cured meats and pickled vegetables or bag a seat in the garden courtyard come sundown, admiring the stars in the night sky as you sip on a glass of something chilled.

Threadbare and in need of a serious refresher. Peeling paint throughout. Mixing valve in shower drips and has no label to tell guest how to get warm water. Restaurant has limited hours and short menu. Staff tries hard but they’re working with a run down facility. Dog friendly. Be prepared to hear barking, whining and begging from dogs left in… Read more

Restaurant has limited hours and short menu. Staff tries hard but they’re working with a run down facility. Dog friendly. Be prepared to hear barking, whining and begging from dogs left in rooms unattended. Location at far end of historic district. Bay Street is two stories higher than River Street and the public stairs from one to the other are treacherous. Better to be at a hotel with an elevator connecting Bay and River. Read less

Highly Recommend for a family, Room was clean and looked really nice. Can't beat the pool for a break in a hot day. Staff was great from Check in to giving advice on restaurants and suggesting tours. The location was great for us, we can park the car and walk anywhere.

We were upgraded to the spa suite and it was a dream. Super spacious and decorated well, as was the rest of the hotel. The hotel was full of cute areas to relax such as the lobby, pool, and courtyard area. Parking is just across the street and is valet only. We were lucky enough to spin the wheel and win free parking. Our only complaints were that it was super loud at night due to the road and that the gym was very tiny and part of the machines weren’t working. Would stay here again! Read less

We recently visited Savannah for Christmas 2024 and stayed at the Kimpton Brice from December 20–26, 2024. Before we even arrived, we were delighted to learn that we had been upgraded from a basic room to a suite, thanks to my IHG status. The suite was beautifully remodeled, showcasing a clean and modern design with no carpet—a major plus for us as we travel with a small dog. The hotel is exceptionally pet-friendly, and while we often stay at Kimptons or IHG properties, I’ve never seen so many dogs in one place—it was wonderful! The evening happy hour in the lobby from 5–6 PM was a standout feature. Unlike other Kimptons that typically offer wine and popcorn, this one elevated the experience by serving appetizers such as vegetable dumplings one day and empanadas another—a lovely touch. Most of the staff provided outstanding service. Jason W. at the front desk, housekeeping, and management stood out for their warm and attentive demeanor. At the bar, Gracie, a gentleman whose name I believe is Mr. Chang, and a young manager whose name escapes me were particularly welcoming and accommodating. Additionally, the two gentlemen (one was older, the other was younger) working the night shift (present at 6:00 AM when I came for coffee) were friendly, as was a young woman at check-in. Their hospitality really made a difference. That said, there were some inconsistencies with the valet staff’s friendliness and attentiveness, which could benefit from additional training to ensure the entire team delivers the same high level of service. We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner at Pacci, with excellent service and attention to detail. However, breakfast was not quite as impressive, with the servers seeming less attentive than expected. Regarding room amenities, there were a couple of minor inconveniences. The lack of a wine opener in the room meant we had to bring our bottle to the bar at Pacci to have it opened, which felt a bit inconvenient. Including wine openers in the rooms would be a helpful addition. Similarly, the two Fiji water bottles priced at $7 each seemed unnecessary given that regular bottled water was provided daily at the front desk. Offering the same complimentary bottled water in the room—or perhaps branded water with the hotel’s logo—could add a thoughtful and cohesive touch. While the pet-friendly nature of the hotel is a highlight, it does come with some challenges. For instance, the luggage caddies were covered in dog hair during our checkout. I had to place a bath towel on one to prevent transferring hair to my luggage. Additionally, the outdoor entrance rug was visibly covered in pet hair for three days and could have been cleaned or replaced more frequently. Ensuring these areas are vacuumed or swapped out regularly would greatly improve the experience. Perhaps the valet staff could help by alerting management when such areas need attention. Despite these minor issues, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The hotel’s charm, combined with the attentiveness of most of the staff, made for a memorable Christmas experience. We look forward to visiting again and would recommend it to others, especially those traveling with pets. Read less
