Ready to party in Downtown Vancouver? This is your ideal base to do so, not just for it’s location, but for the hotel itself too! The standard rooms here are pretty compact, but if you’re just looking for somewhere to rest your head after a night out then you won’t be disappointed. Of course, if you want that bit more space to relax, you can opt for a Superior Room or even a Junior Suite (which is perfect for a group of friends to share together!). Start your evening in the Living Room where you’ll be greeted by happy hour, hearty food options and live TV’s – there’s always a reason to end up here. And then when it’s time to up the vibe, head downstairs to the basement. A basement that you wish you had at home, here you can grab a drink, boogie on the dancefloor, or even roll a game of skeeball (that could be interesting after happy hour ey!). Whilst the hotel has everything ready for the perfect party, you’re also within touching distance of many other eclectic bars and restaurants – so no two nights need to be the same. The hotel staff have some great insider knowledge that you can tap into – whatever kind of place you’re looking for. Come day time, you’re just a stroll away from BC place where you can catch the BC Lions or Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Or take a wander through the famous Stanley Park to get some fresh air after your night on the town.

I really want to write a great review, but I just can't. First, the staff is all incredibly friendly and they are informative about area attractions, etc. The hotel was chosen for us by our travel agent and she and I have had a talk. The room was very clean and the bathroom nicely updated. Bed was fairly comfortable and pillows were okay as well. The room was TINY. My husband and I each had a large clam shell style suitcase and we couldn't have them both open on the floor at the same time. The scent in the lobby is so overpowering it gave me an instant headache. I can't fault the hotel necessarily because it seems to be a trend in many hotels these days. The food (breakfast buffet) was completely unedible. But most of the restaurant was partitioned off. It was cute too, just could not use it. Very weird. And the bathrooms for this area. Oh my. The wallpaper was character renderings of breasts. Yep. Tatas for days. We were apparently located in the "red light district" as there were two strip clubs one two doors down, one behind the hotel, an adult bookstore across the street and a "toy shop" and I'm not talking matel, down the street. I'm not a prude by any means, but it wasn't my favorite location. I wouldn't have felt safe walking alone right in this area, but hubs and I walked down to the cruise port area which was about a 15 minute walk and that is a nice area. Read less

Staff get 5* for being super friendly, giving the children badges and drinks at check in, helping with carrying suitcases down the stairs at check out. Location seemed fine although most places are as good 20 minute walk and we took a lot of Ubers. Nice clean rooms with funky designs throughout, two double beds for a family of four. Down side is the noise, near to clubs and music venues we could hear people and music until about 2-3 in the morning both days we were there. Lovely hotel if you could pick it up and move it to a different location! Read less

It is situated in a busy area but we were lucky enough to be on the upper floors and had little issue with any street noise. However, we were near a motor or generator, either an air con fan or an elevantor motor which meant we did have some noise just outside the room later in teh evening when things had quietened down. We did enjoy the complimentary breakfasts and the team on reception asked us whether there was anything we needed. We shared what we were looking to do in Vancouver over the couple of days we were there and they shared that they could get us some discounts on things like entrance to Grouse Mountain and the Capilano suspension bridge. There looked to be a working bar (where you get breakfast) but it was not operating on the evenings when we stayed there, which was a shame as we had our two kids with us and could have enjoyed a relaxing drink or two in the hotel. Overall though our room (a twin queen double) did the job, although it was a little small for four persons, it was still comfortable and clean and the ensuite bathroom was well stocked with the usual support materials. One gripe was that although we had booked for four persons, there were only three large towels in teh bathroom. Read less

This hotel has character from the foyer to the lampshades in the bar to the artwork in the bathroom. The bed was super comfortable which was an absolute delight after travelling from Australia and staying awake all day after a long flight. Before arriving, I’d read reviews about the location that were a bit concerning. Walking down Granville Street early morning felt a little unsavoury but when I returned from exploring the city later in the day it was alive with traffic and people. I strolled down the street for dinner and returned feeling very comfortable and safe (on my own). On my second night, I walked to Canada Bay for dinner and back, once again there were lots of people around. There are some interesting and somewhat unsavoury characters around but it seems very safe. Breakfast was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Complimentary wine a bonus. I would definitely recommend.
