From the moment we arrived at the Intercontinental, it was one massive letdown after another. First of all, no valet or staff in sight to help with the car — we were left waiting in the heat like it was a budget roadside motel, not a so-called luxury hotel. We had paid for two rooms for 5 people, yet we were asked to pay extra for a fifth bed upon arrival. Excuse me? Why wasn’t this communicated earlier? That’s just the beginning. We had also chosen the “all-inclusive” package thinking we wouldn’t have to worry about additional costs — what a joke. It turns out, “all-inclusive” here means a limited choice of drinks poured from large bottles, like soda with no gas left. That’s not even the worst part. For food, you’re restricted to the buffet or ONE restaurant, because the other two are “closed due to the heat” — in a country where it’s always hot. How is that even an excuse? If you want to eat at the only open à la carte restaurant, you’re given a “credit” of 100 AED per adult and 50 AED per child, but just a starter costs 100 AED. So what’s the point of this so-called all-inclusive deal if you still have to pay extra for everything? Then comes the hygiene, which is absolutely unacceptable. The bedsheets had a used smell, and there was a sign in the room saying linens aren’t changed daily — for “ecological reasons.” Honestly, it felt more like cost-cutting disguised as eco-consciousness. On top of all that, we ate at the buffet the first night, and my son was sick the entire night. There’s clearly a hygiene issue going on here. The food quality, cleanliness, and service are far below even basic standards, let alone 5-star. But what shocked us most was the attitude of the staff, especially the manager named Manna. When we raised all of these serious concerns, she acted completely indifferent — zero empathy, zero solution, and basically said it was our problem, not theirs. Everything about this hotel is a disgrace. Nothing reflects what you’d expect from a 5-star experience. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Avoid this place at all costs. Total waste of money, time, and patience. Read less

Ahmed from the kitchen is the best. If it wasn’t him the hotel would not be this magnificent. He is the best cook and the person, the nicest and the kindest and he is a very laborious person. If there is any financial prize he should receive it.
