This resort is our favorite. The staff members really make it extremely special. They do everything hey can to make your vacation the best it can be.

This resort is our favorite. The staff members really make it extremely special. They do everything hey can to make your vacation the best it can be.
We stayed in a governor's suite at Nizuc. The space in the room is worth it for the extra cost compared to a standard room for our family of 3.
We prefer staying at Nizuc since it is in between Sunrise and The Grand. We go back and forth to Sunrise when we want and then buy day passes to go to The Grand when we want.
Getting dinner reservations was easy through the app and we did not have any trouble getting in at the places and times we wanted.
Food at Nizuc- El Manglar is great for a buffet breakfast and lunch with sushi options. They also have Indian food during lunch. Las Caporales has an amazing breakfast- don't skip on the breakfast breads they bring before your meal, especially the one that is covered in sugar and lime zest! They also have a fantastic dinner with birria tacos!
Food at Sunrise- we love Momo, the regular side. Their spicy seafood soup is our favorite dish in the entire resort along with their fried chicken and all the sashimi and sushi rolls. This time we also ate at Smoked out by the Flowrider and their brisket was surprisingly very good!
Food at The Grand- we love the French restaurant La Chateau and the appetizers from Tapas y Vino the most. The French restaurant used to have a welcome drink but it did not have one this visit. La Chateau has a fantastic atmosphere for a romantic evening, no kids allowed. I enjoy ordering various appetizers from here and having small dishes of lots of things instead of ordering a main course. Tapas y Vino would be better if it had a sound barrier to block off all the noise from unruly running around children walking past. I wish is was closed off from the hallway area walking around it. Their appetizers are amazing though!
Nightly entertainment shows at the resort are fantastic! We enjoyed the fire show, the Michael Jackson show, and the glow motion show. The fire and Michael Jackson were our favorites.
For kids- they have a candy princess with a candy cart during certain times of the day in the main lobbies. They also have some characters walking around- Franklin, a big turtle, and a large inflatable dinosaur to take pictures with. The games poolside are so much fun- giant wobbling Tetris, an inflatable bull, the crazy game! So many things for kids to do, including a giant indoor jump house that is sometimes set up in Sunrise. Our kid enjoyed everything!
Spa- we booked a couples treatment in the Golden Awe Suite spa room at The Grand. The room and amenities included in the service itself were fantastic but the massage was not good. The therapists we had would randomly stop massaging us during the time to stop and clean things up around the room during our treatment. It felt disjointed and like they weren't paying attention to the main point- the massage. This is the only time we haven't liked a spa treatment at a Palace resort. It was our only negative for the entire trip considering how much money it was. We are taking it with a grain of salt since we have had numerous other massages on other trips that have all been excellent.
Now for the People who make the resort fantastic:
Mayra- explained everything and booked the presentation for us, she is very kind and understanding
Alicia- at Manglar super kind! She joked around with us and made sure our drinks were never empty. She was our first interaction at a restaurant after check in. The servers at the buffet deserve so much recognition, she really is fantastic!
Lucas- at the lobby bar in Nizuc made fantastic drinks. He knew I did not want anything too sweet and would always check to make sure he made it just right for me.
Paola and Sofia from the kids club At Nizuc remembered our kiddo's name after a year!! They are so sweet and kind!
Ines - The Nizuc Pub Bar , fantastic server! She was with us our first night and our last night. She knew our drink orders after our first night and even where we preferred to sit. She hustled all night making sure everyone got their drinks quickly.
Erick at membership sales at The Grand, best deal offered yet, so kind and helpful even though we declined his offer
Nizuc activity pool
Raymond from the entertainment staff is the absolute best. He has a giant heart for every single guest. Hearing him talk and interact with guests is like magic. He remembers every detail about them and introduces guests to each other to make everyone feel involved and welcomed. He brought out a special piece of birthday cake to me by the pool to help us celebrate. His ability to remember details about guests to make sure their vacation is the best possible is fantastic! He is able to flawlessly transition between Spanish and English when speaking to a crowd or individuals. We also went to 3 different night time shows where he was the MC. He does a fantastic job getting the crowd energized for the show to start. I have no doubt he will advance further within the entertainment staff at Palace. He is so good at his job!
Ernesto the ice cream man! Our kiddo finally spotted him and he was absolutely brilliant with kids! He had our kid smiling ear to ear immediately with his funny banter. Make sure you find him around the Sunrise pools if you go.
Nizuc pool concierges
Daniel and Eduardo immediately recognized us when we walked past them and took the time to stop and catch up with our lives even though we weren't sitting in their area. Despite us not being in their section, they offered us any assistance we might need during our trip. They are fantastic at taking care of guest's needs and wonderful people.
We ran into Alberto before we left the resort. We are so happy to see him advance from pool concierge to becoming a butler. He is fantastic at his job, making sure everyone feels like family.
Rafael- pool bartender at Palapa Pelicanos- super nice, he made our drinks all day and even made our kiddo a kid friendly version of the shot we were taking so he was included without us even asking! Great service!
Pedro, our server for lunch at Pelicanos- was amazing, he saw our table wobbling and stopped to fix it. Amazing attention to detail to make sure our lunch was perfect
Unique day club
Cristina-Pool concierge decorated a cabana for my birthday and was so sweet! She asked if the balloons were an okay color, if course they were!! It was a fantastic surprise for us that we didn't expect, she did a fabulous job!
Melisa, Juan, and Freddy were our servers as we bounced between staying in the pool and going up to our cabana. They always knew where we were and made sure our drinks stayed full
Loida- remembered me from a past visit where she helped find my missing purse and made sure it was returned to me! Great service and person!
Elsie- we have known her for a few years now. She is the sweetest, kindest person! Always helpful to everyone around.
Alison- she did an amazing job in the pool making special shots and drinks from a shot boat. She has a wonderful vibe and handles all the guests coming up at once asking for drinks so well.
Carlos Moreno- we love, love Carlos! He runs the pool day party on Thursdays and keeps the party atmosphere going nonstop with all the great entertainment that is lined up as well as starting the party from the dj booth with fantastic music. He also does a fantastic job at the nightclubs, spraying the carbon dioxide at just the right moment in the music to cool down the crowd. Thank you for everything Carlos, you made our trip fantastic and we will see you next time!!
Miguel at the Tapas y Vino gave us excellent service. He made my husband super fresh espresso martini that was his favorite of the entire trip. Miguel made sure my wine glass stayed full and was so much fun to talk to. He was so kind and helped us practice our Spanish.
Maximo at the bellhop station at Nizuc!!! Welcomed us back home when we arrived at Nizuc. He is amazing and hustles all day long making sure everything runs smoothly for everyone checking in and out. Maximo should get a raise!
Nizuc Lobby Bar- ask for Guadalupe. He makes amazing drinks and is so nice to talk with as well! Sometimes he is at The Pub at Nizuc instead of the lobby bar.
El Manglar buffet at Nizuc-
Food is always great! We love t for breakfast as well as to go for lunch for sushi.
Armando and Hecnar were our servers there. They knew our drink orders and would have them waiting at the table before we were even sat down. Armando would find me in the buffet and carry my plate back to the table for me as well. Fantastic service from both of them each visit!
We ran into Asuncion at breakfast at El Manglar. She remembered us from 2 years ago. I'm so happy to hear she went from being a pool server to now learning management at the restaurants. She is an amazing woman and made sure everything was absolutely perfect for our breakfast.
Enrique bell boy at Nizuc very respectful, so nice getting everything to our room when we arrived.
Nightclubs:
We went every night they were open, we enjoyed them that much. Even if you do not stay at The Grand, you can go to the nightclub there for free without a day pass.
DJs Katy Burquette and Carlos Huerta are amazing. They keep a great pulse on the crowd, changing the music to keep everyone engaged and having a good time. When we would request any music, they did an expert job at mixing in the songs we wanted while keeping the vibe going.
Alfredo working security for the night clubs did amazing breaking up a fight at Unique. He kept everyone safe and made sure everyone was still having a good time afterwords. Thank you Alfredo for keeping everyone safe!
Kenia and Miguel took care of our drink orders every night we were at the nightclubs. They both knew our orders and never let us have an empty glass. They had amazing energy. Kenia would even start dancing and getting the crowd to join in which was fantastic! We look forward to seeing them our next trip.
Karla and Regina recognized us from our last visit. They are both so incredibly sweet. Regina gave me a small memento keychain for my birthday and Kenia gave me a tequila bottle snowglobe to remember her by. They are both amazing servers who care about guests and want to make sure everyone is having a great time.
Gabriel was the new manager and he did an excellent job job making sure everything ran smoothly and took care of any needs we had. He was very attentive to his staff members and to anything that needed to be taken care of.
Big Alexis was there as the manager for our last night. He immediately recognized us from past visits. There was an unruly male guest that tried to touch female guests that were with us, along with making violent threats towards the men in our party. Regina, a server, saw that we needed help and immediately stopped to come help while she was in he middle of taking a drink order. We told her it was an emergency and that we needed Alexis. He came right away and used his security team to deescalate the situation. The unruly guests were escorted away to keep everyone safe. When we were ready to leave, they had a golf cart waiting to make sure we got to our rooms safely as well. Alexis and Regina handled the situation extremely professionally so nothing further occured and all guests were safe.
Emiliano at Noir nightclub manning the hallway to the bathroom so polite and considerate, making sure any spills were cleaned up in the hall and everyone was safe.
Alejandro, goes by Alex was our server at Momo the regular side. He made sure we always had drinks refilled and everything was perfect with our food. He was an excellent server!
Frida, a cocktail waitress at The Pub in Nizuc does an excellent job circulating around making sure everyone has all the drinks they need. She is always smiling and very kind. Fantastic job Frida!
Leslie, Paola, Sofia, and Geraldine from the Nizuc kids club are the absolute best with all the kids. They remembered our son from previous visits which makes him feel so special when we return. Geraldine did great helping run a poolside tilting Tetris puzzle game making sure everyone was getting turns. That game was so much fun!! Our kid loves seeing them each time we go, they always make it special for him.
Mizraim and Arturo helped us forget our misery of check out time at the lobby bar in Nizuc by getting us rapid refills before we had to get onto our transportation to leave
Kasandra made us sandwiches to go at the sweet shop in Nizuc before we left for the airport. Great sandwiches, she wrapped them up for us so we could have them when we needed. Thank you Kasandra!
We will be back to celebrate New Year's Eve in style! So excited to return!
