We booked and paid for our room in advance. We called to ask questions and was told that our room would be ready and available when we arrive. Upon arrival there wasn’t a room available and we were told that it would be a 3-4 hour wait or we would have to take a different room on a lower floor. We informed them that we could not wait that long as we had reservations. We couldn’t understand why a room was reserved and cleaned prior to because we’d already booked and paid in advance. We were placed in a room that was not cleaned, the door lock broken. Used water cartons left for us and other people open food had been left in the drawers and their hair accessories as well. Everything was dusty, other people hair was visible on the bed and in the bathroom, it appeared to be coffee stains on the mattress, sockets didn’t work, work desk top was bubbled up, shades were broken and damaged. Iron did not work, and no microwave or fridge to keep our expensive leftovers cool. A wine cooler was there but that didn’t work either. We were placed in another room after our complaints and were told that they know we have to leave so they will wait for us to come back to speak with management. While we were out staff decided to enter our room to leave a bottle of wine and macaroons. We appreciated the gesture but did not like the fact that they waited to enter the room once we left. Overall, our experience was not good. The thought of being at what’s considered a 5star hotel makes one feel like their experience will be exceptionally great. And for some it may have been but unfortunately for us it was not. Read less

We had to travel to the DC area for a Celebration of Life event, (outside the city), and found the perfect combination of serenity and convenience with exceptional service. It was also perfectly located for exploring the Smithsonian Museums, Capital buildings, and monuments. This will be our "go-to", home away from home when we visit again!

This hotel has a great location but the real prize is it's Hospitality! The staff is always smiling and gracious to guests as well as each other! Requests we answered fast and efficiently! Our room was clean and comfortable. Truly a great experience!

Special shout out to Drew (for his enthusiasm and making our family feel welcome) and to Andrew at reception (for the generous room upgrade). Didn't try the restaurants but ordered room service and the veg risotto was yummy. Only one issue - the shower heating needs to be checked - was not adequate. Would definitely stay here again! There was enough space for all of us and we still had a little privacy. Our kids loved having food delivered after a long day of walking around the city. The hotel was a perfect area not too far from all of the monuments and sites. The staff was very friendly and initiative. Breakfast was amazing in the restaurant and in the room. I wish the oatmeal stay hot longer it was warm both times we got it. Also wish my kids could’ve received plain pancakes. Other than that everything was amazing. Read less
