    Where is it

    YOTEL New York is located in the Hell's Kitchen neighbourhood of Manhattan, on 10th avenue, approximately 1km from Times Square. Transfer time from JFK airport is approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.

    The nearest metro/tube to the hotel is Times Square – 42nd Street / Port Authority Bus Terminal which is two blocks east of YOTEL New York on 42nd Street. It is a subway station complex located under Times Square and the Port Authority Bus Terminal, at the intersection of 42nd Street, Seventh and Eighth Avenues, and Broadway in Midtown Manhattan. The A,C,E lines go through there. 

    There is a public garage right next to YOTEL New York. The entrance is at 475 West 41st Street (between Dyer and Tenth Avenue), and parking costs $45 for 24 hours. Note that there is a $10 supplement for SUVs (payable locally and subject to change).

    The Green Room 42 is a cabaret club serving food and drinks. Green Fig (open for breakfast, lunch and dinner). Grab + Go espresso bar serving coffees and beverages to takeaway meals.

    YOBOT: The robotic luggage concierge, YOBOT, adds a touch of tech-savvy luxury, offering a hassle-free luggage storage and retrieval service. Contactless check-in via self service stations. WiFi.

Instead of helping, the staff kept passing me from one person to another, promising to connect me to the manager, only to put me on hold and drag out the process. I’ve spent over three days trying to make this simple request — not a cancellation or refund, just a change of dates — and it’s unbelievable how impossible they’ve made it. Even if a hotel has a strict policy against date changes, the least they could do is be respectful and professional enough to let me speak directly with the manager to explain it. Read less

Lack of transparency with pertinent information that can make or break a trip and and arrogant, rude staff that is so consumed with their cell phones and side conversations that they can’t be bothered to divulge said pertinent information regarding the hotels basic offerings and services and amenities. Elevator only goes to 4th floor then another elevator takes you to your room, from the time I checked in until I walked into the first of 3 frustrating sweaty with shoulders and arms full of heavy luggage with the two desk agents and two floor agents (4 total ) never bothering to inform guests that they would take elevator to 4th floor then board another elevator . The fourth floor had a private party on it and not one of the four employees of the hotel behind Concord between checking in and the elevator bothered to inform my Party of the elevator situation, resulting three up-and-down trips that were a waste of time and a complete frustrating start in addition to the Non-transparency from the staff that could’ve saved a lot of aggravation is not a sign posted about the elevators operations and the guest are left to figure out on their own. They offer a robotic storage situation where you can leave your bags in a storage facility that’s operated by robotic arm yet they do not inform the guest in any way shape or form written or orally that this stops at 11:00 PM and that there is nobody on staff to attend to it after that. I had hoped to store my bags so I could be free to venture out into the city between my reservations, which would be 11 PM to 5 AM. I was simply told that this is no longer available without any alternative solution being offered. So not only could I not store my heavy luggage and have to lug it around the city which I can’t do. There is no way to book a room to bring the gap between 11 PM and 5 AM which I find absurd that they turn down money and preferred to displace a multiple time guest with all his luggage and all parties luggage in the lobby like a homeless person for six hours, preventing us from enjoying the city as well. Had a daybreak 3pm-11 reservation . With time square traffic and parking garage woes and long lines and staff with out any semblance of a sense of urgency or attempt at providing adequate customer service that check in didn’t happen until 8pm. With only 3 hours to shower and decompress the decision was made to extend reservation 1 so that it connected to daybreak reservation #2 at 5 am . Fruitless Calls to staffers and promises of a return call from “the manager” on how to make an additional purchase to connect the daybreak reservations yielded zero answers and no call from the supervisor. So a saturday reservation ended at 11.p The Sunday one won’t check in until 5am. There is no reason why they couldn’t have manifested a 6hour rate to keep my party in the same room through Sunday and into Monday check out . They chose instead to deny me the advertised storage offering by closing it without notice which left me with heavy luggage to carry preventing me from enjoying NYC on a Saturday night . They also carry on with text messages and obnoxious and unprofessional profane personal conversations in front of the guest who may or may not be as mortified as I am by the absurd behavior of a “manager “ named “Orlando” who said “your lucky I don’t kick you out of here “ and “I’m being nice letting you sit in the lobby “ and said “s#%?” ” and dropped f bombs multiple times amongst other harsh criticisms of colleagues and supervisors while carrying on like he’s gods gift to hospitality . The staff is so arrogant , inconsiderate and lacking any empathy for a road weary traveler that they preferred to leave me languishing in the lobby 6 hours waiting for the Sunday check in because they are not guest centric they are more into the plummeting of guest relations standards that comes with a “yotel” that lacks courtesy and service and basic human relations skills due to its “modern” interpretation of hospitality which is very urban, arrogant , and indifferent if not downright cold and coy . . I watched as guests of color were treated with a far superior level of attention and care while the Caucasian devil wasn’t even afforded a warm greeting , a thank you , eye contact , or any other basic customer service queues. With a manager like this Orlando character on personal conversation loudly using profane language complaining about director and assistant director and other colleagues and his work load loudly and ignorantly for all of the lobby to hear with guests checking in and coming and going . This Orlando also profanely and rudely told me “he’s being nice not kicking me out on the street “ Daybreak bookings are treated as if they are insignificant and the guest is dismissed coldly as if there business isn’t needed and in my case wasn’t even wanted and any advertised amenities would not be made available to me despite the circumstances that came with easy solutions that would have made a repeat guest not resent this hotel and have it ruin an entire weekend in NYC. If you appreciate being treated like an interruption to a text message and personal side conversations and denied hospitality and advertised amenities all while being charged a $50 resort fee all while being threatened by a profane troglodyte posing as a leader then this is the “modern, hip hop yotel” for you. Whypepo I’d run for the hills if I were you unless you enjoy being treated like a piece of , as Orlando said or ““ I hate yotel, I’ll never consider it again , I’ll avoid NYC for a long time due to the taste this piece of rubbish hotel left in my mouth due to the arrogance , ignorance , disrespect , inconsideration and total lack of hospitality , empathy abd integrity I experienced in an over the top ludicrous experience I lwill resent and regret for the rest of my days .     This hotel is a prime location of New York, litually up the street & a couple of blocks away from time square, subway and the port authority bus terminal. We arrived quite late and the staff were sorting out a cancelled flight hence it was packed in reception. Couldn’t use the machines as it stated our room wasn’t ready so we checked in with ground control. The hotel was very secure by using the keycards for the elevators and all that. The room we had was on the 27th floor and we had a great standard room, the staff didn’t fill up on the shower gel in room so we had to buy our own. The social areas and the lobby is always clean and the yobot storing the luggage is a neat idea. However you can only put in 2 bins of luggage per room in the yobot. One the lobby staff saw that I had an extra bag on me and he was trying charge me $3 dollars for that extra bag! If the Yobot was down, they would’ve charged us around $15 for each bag which if you ask me is not good, a hotel shouldn’t charge for you to keep luggage in storage especially when you have a late flight. I would return here again. But I wasn’t happy how the staff kept pestering me for $3 for each luggage needed to be stored. Read less

    I tried 4 time s yesterday to speak to someone at this hotel, after getting through listening to automated voice and asking to speak to someone i was on hold and then spoke to a girl, i explained i wanted to make a payment for the Taxes being charged for a room my Son was/is staying in. I had booked a room via a 3rd party (holiday Buzz) for my son and girlfriend to stay for a week, the 3rd party did not explain there would be over $500 in additional fees/taxes, i simply wanted to talk to someone and pay theses taxes/fees. My son and girlfriend have just graduated and this trip was a treat for doing so well but these extra charges are enormous and they are on a small budget. Why will no one at the Hotel take a call and allow me to make a payment so that they are not totally out of pocket. Each time i tried yesterday the phone was hung up. Read less

    After reading several bad reviews of this hotel I was kind of dreading going but ….. if I’ve learnt anything it’s to make your own judgements which we did . Prior to our arrival I had emailed the hotel regarding it being a big anniversary for us and a few specific things I asked for . Which was not even acknowledged which was very sad . We ended up on the lowest floor above the cabaret which we thought would be very loud but tbh it wasn’t . Our room 805 was very clean and although a little “rough around the edges” it suited us for what we wanted aka to sleep after a long day exploring. The bed is super comfy and we had a lovely view especially at night . It was perfect for us . It was quiet at night even though it’s above a very busy street . Although on our second night we had loud music almost all night playing outside which kept me awake but you come back so exhausted I feel you would sleep anywhere . Check in was fast and easy and the same for check out . We didn’t have much to do with reception but each one we had come across were very friendly . So all in all a lovely stay my pros and cons are Pro - Location is brilliant Comfy bed Cons - Not enough communication from start to finish taking 24 hours to reply to an email is not great . Air con was very noisy but effective Some bits of the hotel are very worn and not like the pics advertised at all . We will be back to New York one day but don’t think we will use this hotel sorry .
