This was our 4th visit to the resort, our first was 20 years ago and it was a bit smaller then. We also only used to stay for 3 or 4 nights before moving onto somewhere else and we always didn't want to leave. This time we spent a week here, still didn't want to leave!!! The resort is a lot bigger and now a JW Marriott, but we still love it and yes it isn't cheap and yes it is now a big resort, but we still loved it. The location, the food, the pool and the sunsets, you can't forget the sunsets. We ate in Maia a few times for breakfast which was very good. We also ate at Quinns which you can't go wrong with, always happy to accommodate fussy eaters. We also ate at Ario which was a bit disappointing. I felt it was a bit rushed, we weren't feeling our best so probably didn't matter but we were in and out within 75 minutes. We had drinks at Korals a couple of times and is always great and bar tenders always friendly and helpful. We had 3 rooms, 2 Partial Pool/Gulf Views which suited out grown up sons and their girlfriends, they had a great view of Quinns Pool and the beach. We had a Sunset Corner Suite which was great, lots of balcony space, the only downside was the size of the bathroom, a bit small compared to the other rooms, but the view we had definitely made up for it. Was it as good as we remember, yes, would we go back, hell yes. As previously mentioned it isn't cheap by any means but it's just a great place to visit. We managed to do the jetski tour from the hotel beach which was great and saw dolphins, turtles, pelicans and was great fun. We also did a sunset cruise with Cool Beans which was fab, the sunsets were amaxing Read less

Wonderful time at the JW Marriott at Marco Island!! This property is beautiful and very family friendly. The most difficult decision we made each day was beach or pool? We also had family pictures taken by the hotel at sunset which came out incredible as well. We will be back!

We recently stayed at the JW Marriott Marco Island and, while the beach and hotel grounds are beautiful, the overall experience didn’t match the high price. The rooms are outdated. For the amount we paid per night, I expected something more modern and comfortable. I’ve honestly stayed in nicer, more updated rooms at lower-tier Marriott hotels for a fraction of the price. Nearly everything is overpriced. We only ate at the hotel a few times — mostly because the cost was outrageous and the kid-friendly options were almost nonexistent. For a resort that markets itself as family-friendly, the lack of kids’ menus at many of the restaurants was surprising and inconvenient. You also have to pay for every little thing. Beach chairs and an umbrella? $55 a day. Valet? $48. Even self-parking is $38 a day. Spending $500–$1,000 per night gets you just your room — everything else is à la carte. One really frustrating thing: the hotel stores aren’t open at night. If you need a Tums, a Band-Aid, or just a late-night snack — good luck. There’s nowhere in the hotel to grab basic necessities after hours, which is something I wouldn’t expect at a resort of this size and price point. The one standout was the staff — most were friendly and helpful, and Logan at the front desk was especially great. He was genuinely kind and went out of his way to help. In the end, while the beach is stunning and the property is well-maintained, the value just isn’t there. We won’t be back — not because it was terrible, but because the experience didn’t match the steep cost. Read less

We had our family photos done at the JW Marriott and couldn’t be happier. The photographer, Chris, was amazing - especially with our very uninterested 4-year-old! Somehow he made the whole experience fun and stress-free, and the photos turned out beautiful. Highly recommend!

Family vacation; two adults, two kids (8, 4). Marriott Bonvoy titanium elite Fantastic location. One of the best beaches we’ve ever been to, globally. This resort is packed with kids, and that’s why we came. Lots of activities for the kiddos, and balanced dining options for adults or kiddos that might be more picky. The valet/drop off/pick up area is an absolute train wreck. Be prepared to wait while parked on a steep ramp. Being a resort, paying a premium is expected. But this place stings more than most. $24 burgers, $18 drinks w 20% gratuity stacked on top. $3 MIN per game at the arcade…some $5, $7, $10. $1000+/ni rooms with the most uncomfortable pillows we’ve ever come across. What really hurts this resort’s rating is the service. Almost no employees engage with you on any level. Just crank you through the marriott turnstyle and send you packing. No one seems to be enjoying their job, and no one will go out of their way to greet you. One of the AC units in our suite wasnt working, so i informed the front desk three times in 36hrs. Was told each time that they would get right on it…. Actually never did. And the AC unit that did work was crazy loud and made a loud clunking sound during each cooling cycle. The sushi restaurant had great food but one day they had a hostess, and a few days later it was seat yourself. We found this out after standing around for 15min and no one bothered to help us. Then a single waitress had to run the entire room. Want a drink or food at the kids pool? Good luck getting the singular waitress’ attention. And have fun waiting 20+ min for her to bring it to you. Ordered shrimp w/o seasoning at quinn’s because of an allergy, and they showed up covered in seasoning. Reminded the waiter of the order and they took the shrimp back…and just rinsed & reserved them. Beach service was even spottier than the pool service. After waiting to try to order a drink on our first day unsuccessfully, we never tried again. Another oddity here was checking out. 100% transactional; here is your receipt, thanks for returning the bracelet. Not even an inquiry about the stay or if everything went ok. And this was at the elite counter. The only two stand out employees here were Chris and Darren at Kane Tiki Bar. Truly exceptional service and interaction with us and the kids. Jobs well done. 10 out of 10. Promote these guys. With the naples ritz so close, it would be very hard to come back here. Great location but for $1000+/night, it falls short and does not meet the JW standard. Its just regular Marriott quality. Read less
