Hotel is in a good location for shops, restaurants etc. We were allocated a room in an adjacent block - we asked to be in the main hotel building but was refused by check-in lady. Hotel is in a good location for shops, restaurants etc. We were allocated a room in an adjacent block - we asked to be in the main hotel building but was refused by check-in lady. She said we could only be in the room type we booked. It turned out that the room was actually very nice with a handy kitchenette but was slightly miffed the request wasn’t even considered. The lobby area is bright with stuffed animals - not really our thing. The hotel is hugely popular with coach & rocky mountaineer guests - with coaches arriving & departing all day. The outdoor fire pit is a nice touch. We used the swimming pool but unfortunately there are no keys on the lockers so you have to carry valuables to the few chairs around the pool. Unfortunately we feel it necessary to deduct 2 stars for the surly response from Falguni at check out - who when we asked if she would fill our water bottles from behind the reception area due to the breakfast area being closed, she responded by saying “no, you had the opportunity to fill your water bottles in your room so now you have to go to the lower floor by the swimming pool to fill up”! There was no one else checking out at the time so we were surprised at her attitude. Tut Tut Falguni! Read less

We stayed in the newer part of the hotel with a kitchenette. Huge, clean rooms in walking distance to restaurants and shops. Very friendly staff at both front desk and restaurant. Had a self serve laundry - only $3 to do a load of laundry and $3 for the dryer. Free parking. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely rooms with Kitchenette, comfortable beds, friendly staff and made check in and out easy. Good pool and spa facilities. The restaurants in house were closed when we went but were recommended the sister restaurant down the road and food was lovely.

Dismal! When we arrived we were asked for a $250 security deposit. Never been asked that before. I have been asked for a deposit to cover food/drinks we may purchase but they said they had to examine our room before they refunded this deposit. Score -1 The room was very nice and comfortable. I have been asked for a deposit to cover food/drinks we may purchase but they said they had to examine our room before they refunded this deposit. Score -1 The room was very nice and comfortable. Score +2 Breakfast was inedible - cold and very limited. Score -2 They wanted me to pay for the breakfast and I told them to take it off the deposit. They said they couldn't as we had no account with them. After a disagreement, they agreed and gave me a voucher for a free breakfast (I did not take up the offer). Score -2 Staff were generally helpful, but in a hotel in Canada, the staff should be able to speak English or French or preferably both. This was not always the case. Score 0 Nett score - 3. Now the downside...MANAGEMENT please take notes - as repeat customers we've said before, need some drawer space, need more hangers, and a bedside table at both sides of the bed.
