The hotel

A luxurious, landmark waterfront hotel, Westin ensures your every comfort is met at the Harbour Castle. Beautifully appointed guest rooms with Westin’s signature Heavenly Bed and Bath offer a welcome retreat at the end of a busy day spent sightseeing. There’s also a heated indoor swimming pool in which to wallow and the WESTIN Workout Gym, overlooking the picturesque Toronto Islands — enough to inspire anyone to take to the treadmill! Afterwards, recline in the whirlpool or, if you’ve still energy to spare, perhaps a game of tennis or squash may tempt you. There are plenty of restaurants close by but highly recommended are both the hotel’s eateries. The Mizzen serves exquisite à la carte dishes alongside a very tempting buffet to start your day, and when evening comes around why not try the incredible cuisine of Michelin Star chefs Ernesto & Alfonso at Don Alfonso 1890. If you're looking for something a bit more chilled, retire to the Chartroom Bar and Lounge where you can grab a local brew and a range of dishes, throughout the day.

It is located right next to Lake Ontario and a lot of the rooms have lake views. I was in room 2226 on the 22nd floor and had a lovely view of the lake and the city. It is also only a 15 minute walk from Union Station. From there you can take the UP train which goes straight to Pearson airport every 15 minutes. Although the hotel has been there for many years, I found that my room had been freshly updated. There was even a feature that I had never seen in a hotel room before. A filtered water faucet for drinking water. Nice touch. All the staff that I encountered were very friendly and the check in, check out experience was seamless. Read less

Definitely wouldn't recommend. The situation with the lifts in the North Tower is totally unacceptable. 1/5 lifts were operational during our stay and apparently it's been like this for weeks and will not be fixed for many weeks to come. Wait times were exceeding 10 minutes and the only remaining lift was being used beyond capacity. It felt very dangerous and unsafe. Our room was ok - nothing special, a little dated. The fridge froze our drinks and the safe wasn't working. There were two positives - a comfy bed and free tea/cofffee in the morning in the lobby was a nice touch. Breakfast was underwhelming with mixed quality - freshly cooked eggs were great, but the potatoes were undercooked, the bread for toasting was cheap. Read less

Nice decent rooms. Comfy beds. Great breakfast buffet. My only piece of feedback would be the volume of the music in their public areas. It’s like walking into a nightclub when you walk into reception. Was struggling to hear reception staff.

Terrible customer service! Do not stay here it’s not worth the money! Customer service is not willing to do anything. If you call the front desk they will do nothing to help and laugh at you. This is the rudest hotel I’ve ever dealt with! Stay away at all costs!!
