The hotel

A luxurious, landmark waterfront hotel, Westin ensures your every comfort is met at the Harbour Castle. Beautifully appointed guest rooms with Westin’s signature Heavenly Bed and Bath offer a welcome retreat at the end of a busy day spent sightseeing. There’s also a heated indoor swimming pool in which to wallow and the WESTIN Workout Gym, overlooking the picturesque Toronto Islands — enough to inspire anyone to take to the treadmill! Afterwards, recline in the whirlpool or, if you’ve still energy to spare, perhaps a game of tennis or squash may tempt you. There are plenty of restaurants close by but highly recommended are both the hotel’s eateries. The Mizzen serves exquisite à la carte dishes alongside a very tempting buffet to start your day, and when evening comes around why not try the incredible cuisine of Michelin Star chefs Ernesto & Alfonso at Don Alfonso 1890. If you're looking for something a bit more chilled, retire to the Chartroom Bar and Lounge where you can grab a local brew and a range of dishes, throughout the day.

Room was upgraded when we arrived which was nice. Great views of the lake and Toronto island. Room spacious and clean. Bathroom is tight for space. 2/4 elevators were down for maintenance which made the waits very long and we would take the stairs-understanding these things happen. Staff at the bar super helpful. Seems like the whole building… Read more

Hotel was clean and for the most part staff were friendly and helpful. Of course if you want to visit the island or tour the city this is a great location. Hotel is starting to see some wear and rooms could use a little touch up but you can’t beat the views if you have a room facing the island. Elevators are frustrating if the hotel is busy with… Read more

Elevators are frustrating if the hotel is busy with long waits and crowded elevators. Only other down side which is not really the properties problem is the price you are quoted is never what you pay, tax after tax after tax is added to the bill. Read less

Busy harbor front hotel with their convention center across the street. Right next to the ferry terminal. We got the lake view room we requested on a newly renovated floor. Busy harbor front hotel with their convention center across the street. Right next to the ferry terminal. We got the lake view room we requested on a newly renovated floor. There's still work in progress so make sure you specify not on a construction floor. We were there because the hotel was included with the Great Lakes cruise we had booked with Victory Cruise Lines. Friendly reception staff and great concierge desk provided us with a few "don't miss" suggestions after determining what areas we might be interested in. Wonderful breakfast buffet available as well as off the menu items. Lively lounge / bar scene serving food last. To sum up, great hotel location wise, amenities and staff. We'd stay there again. Excellent for work trip, clean and comfy. I can’t say enough about the front office manager, Miguel. He was extremely helpful and went out of his way to make sure everything was awesome. I was coordinating a block of 22 rooms for a conference and he helped with all the details. Room was spacious and clean and it made coming back after a busy… Read more

It was a fantastic stay. A newly renovated room overlooking the lake was perfect. The designers took into account the stay experience when updating. They built in a motion sensing light in the bathroom so if you use it in the middle of the night the dim light is enough to see inside the bathroom but the light doesn't blast the bedroom area. The bathroom door is translucent. Also in the bathroom was a filtered water tap. I don't think there's any issue with Toronto water but it was a nice feature. In room coffee maker, mini fridge, robes and slippers were nice little touches. Location close walk to almost everything downtown. Lastly, the service was phenomenal. From check in to housekeeping to maintenance (AC unit needed a quick service due to very hot conditions) everyone was very accommodating and friendly. We didn't have to wait more than a couple of minutes for someone to arrive. The finishing touch was dessert and a bottle of wine delivered to our room for a special occasion compliments of the hotel. Class all around. Read less
