The Coral at Atlantis

Nassau, Bahamas

Star rating

The hotel

Luxury in the Bahamas needn’t be off-limit to families. Built to bring all generations together, The Coral at Atlantis Paradise Island has re-opened after being re-designed and re-imagined with features, facilities, and fun for every age and stage of your crew. As well as the revamped rooms, with their balconies and tropical styling, and a sleek pool that’s more Miami than castaway island, The Coral adds decadent family touches like lollies at the swim-up bar and a gelateria in the lobby. Its setting on the island adds to the child-friendly feel, with Bahamian white sand beaches and Marina Village handily close. And you get access-all-areas to all the island’s dining venues and attractions, giving you something to thrill each member of your family — whether that’s plunging past shark-filled waters down the near-vertical Leap of Faith or splashing about in the Mayan-themed children’s water playground.

Staff was nice and beach was nice but other hotels in Atlantis give you better bang for buck. Make sure your reservation is confirmed if you are booking with 3rd party - Looks like there is some issue and we had to book our whole reservation once we got there. They asked us to vacate the room without really working out the issue and making me book directly on their website. Read less

We saved for this trip and coordinated schedules with family members to hopefully enjoy all the amenities of Atlantis. While our day experiences were great, we dreaded the evening because we knew what the night would bring. Young men just out of high school, drinking and partying for five nights in a row were not part of our vacation plans. Hotel staff members said the right things, but in the end, we felt as though our concerns were considered to be meaningless. We could have been moved to another location in the hotel, the students could have been moved or at least separated, or they could have been evicted. None of these possible solutions occurred. When the hotel incurred tangible damages to hotel property, they conveniently had a credit card on file to recover your expenses for repairs. As guests on the same floor, we had no recourse other than to keep contacting Guest Services. Our concerns unfortunately remained unresolved. Read less

There is no shuttle bus available to the downtown area, only within the resort complex. This forces you to take a taxi every time you want to go into town or out for dinner. The taxi fares are outrageous, and you’re completely at the mercy of local drivers. The internal shuttle drivers are rude and impolite, just like the staff who remove the beach chairs (which makes no sense, as they just move them from one end to another). Terrible service overall. Even after paying a fortune for your stay, during checkout you’ll be surprised with additional daily “resort fees” for amenities you already thought were included. The check-in process is a nightmare, with endless lines and very few staff available. Our room wasn’t even ready after the official check-in time. I do not recommend this place. Read less
