The hotel

Whilst staying at Jamaica Inn, Winston Churchill swore the light was the best in the world for his watercolours. Jamaica Inn is one of the loveliest small luxury hotels in Jamaica. Now over 60 years old, it retains a gracious air of colonial Jamaica and attracts individuals and couples (some famous), who return on a regular basis. There is a wonderful, natural tranquility about this hotel and it has a lovely location on a private 700 ft white sand beach. Dining is on an outdoor terrace that adjoins the bar terrace. A more romantic setting is hard to imagine, and in keeping with the ‘Noel Coward’ lifestyle, there is a live band most nights. There is a cocktail terrace with a magnificent view and in step with its elegant classic approach, there is a dress code after dark. Bordered by an exquisite 700 ft-long beach, the hotel is in Ocho Rios on the tranquil North Coast of the island. All guest suites face the beach and the turquoise water. Each suite has a verandah or a balustraded balcony and many guests opt to leave the air-conditioning off and allow the sea breeze instead to do the work.

My wife and I have been coming to this uniquely special place for over 20 years. This last, was a wonderful, relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable 9 days vacation experience. Jamaica Inn is absolutely the best in the Caribbean at making one feel at home and as part of a special family. The beach is incredible! The staff is excellent as many reviewers here attest. For special mention are: Patrice, Alvin, Ashlene, Tyrique and Sadie. However, they are all special, well-trained staff. Food is excellent: If you love fish, there is no better chef in all of JA. For all they offer and deliver, it is value for every dollar spent. Read less

This is our tenth time at the inn and this trip was the best yet! We love everything about the inn but it is the staff who make the inn the best experience in the Caribbean. This trip we want to appreciate: Patrice, Alvin, Williams, Ashalene, and Samantha. Their genuine smiles, kindness and attentiveness made our trip back to the inn the best… Read more

Jamaica Inn If you’re searching for Paradise, where you’re treated like family and greeted with a smile and a kind word, you’ve found it. From the moment you’re picked up from the airport to the moment you’re returned, you feel like you’re home. Room - We had a Premier Verandah Suite which is situated right on the beach. The front entry door opens directly from the covered walkway that stretches from the lobby area to the end of the wing (though if you prefer you can stroll along the ocean side to get a lovely view of the grounds). The room is furnished with beautiful traditional decor and lovely plantation shutters. The door to the verandah opens to a large outdoor living space complete with sofa, tables, two wingback chairs, a desk, and a small fridge. And of course the best part, one step down and you’re on the sand. Service - A+++!! Whether it be servers, housekeepers, beach staff, or grounds crew, everyone you interact with greets you with a smile, compliment, joke, or other warm welcome. Food - We were so happy to enjoy some of the local dishes and fruit (try the naseberry - YUM!), both were rich and flavorful. And when we wanted something more familiar, the burger and chicken salad pita hit the spot! Beach - The moment you make your way to a set of chairs you are met by a gentleman readying the spot with towels and chair covers. The water is warm and clear - snorkeling around either side of the inlet always reveals interesting sea life. I could go on and on, the entire experience is top notch. We already can’t wait to return next year! Miss you guys already! Jen & George Read less

Gorgeous property with stunning views, excellent staff, great food. A great experience. Shadow captivated my son to the point he was ready to sign up as official dog walker. The turtle release on our first day was also amazing.
