My husband and I recently returned from our third trip to The Beachfront by The Fives in Playa del Carmen, and I cannot speak highly enough about this boutique resort!
We are not typically people who go to the same place more than once, but from the second we arrived on our first visit in June 2025, we were blown away. We were greeted with towels that smelled like a spa to freshen up and delicious water with a tropical flair. When we arrived at our room, we found a beach tote, champagne, and chocolate-covered strawberries to celebrate our anniversary.
The room itself was beautifully decorated—minimal and clean so as not to take away from the view. Our oceanfront room was amazing, just steps away from the ocean and pool! Each morning, our amazing ambassadors, Julio, Jorge, and Juan, sent us an update of all the dining options and activities for the day, both at The Beachfront and at the Hotel & Residences next door.
One of the great perks of staying at The Beachfront is that you can still enjoy the events, restaurants, nightlife, spa, and everything else the larger resort next door has to offer. The service from our ambassadors, as well as every employee we interacted with throughout our stay, was incredible.
We had originally come to the resort through a timeshare exchange, but before the end of the week, we gave up our timeshare and became Epic Members because we knew we wanted to come back as often as possible.
As we planned for our second visit in February 2026, I was a little nervous, wondering if the fairly new resort had been able to maintain its exceptional service. I found absolutely no reason to worry. This time, our room was on the third floor, and the bed was directly facing the ocean. We could literally wake up and enjoy the beautiful view from our bed!
One night, we found ourselves hanging out next door at the Tequila Bar a little too long. We were SO incredibly lucky that the day before, my husband had signed us up for a special seafood experience. Following our late night, we made our way to a private Bali bed inside a romantic tepee on the beach.
Lucas took excellent care of us all day long! We were greeted with champagne and a fruit and cheese platter. After a nap, we were treated to oysters. After another nap, we were served two plates of delicious seafood. Then, after a very short nap, we woke up to a flock of birds encroaching on our scraps, with Lucas apologizing while also trying to fight them off as he picked up our plates. It was hilarious, and I know it will remain one of my favorite vacation memories for a long time!
Our most recent trip in July 2026 was just as incredible in every way. Again, we had fantastic ambassadors. Luis and Jaime were always there to assist, offer suggestions, and make reservations for activities and meals.
Every single meal we ate at Santa Sirena was absolutely amazing, and their mixologist is fantastic. I loved that we got to see the same serving staff each day at our meals. We were especially excited to see our awesome pool server, Lucas, again. He took excellent care of us all day at the pool, constantly refilling our cups with spicy margaritas.
Each day, there is something special going on for lunch poolside. One of my favorites was poke bowl day. Definitely don't miss the guacamole with octopus—I think I'll be craving that until our next visit!
At dinner, the live music, beautiful lighting, and chill vibe are the perfect way to wind down.
Overall, the exceptional service from everyone we have interacted with during each of our visits to The Beachfront has been the best I have ever experienced or witnessed. And that is saying a lot! I'm the daughter of a wine sommelier and a floral and event manager, so I grew up spending a lot of time at a high-end resort in Hawaii.
There is something truly special about The Beachfront. Because it is a smaller resort, you can tell the staff genuinely enjoy each other and almost seem like a family. They take pride in what they do, and that pride shows in every interaction.
Each time we have visited, I have genuinely been sad to leave. One of these times, I have a feeling I just won't leave and will opt to serve alongside their amazing staff instead!
If you are considering staying at The Beachfront, I truly cannot recommend it enough. We came for our first visit not knowing what to expect, and somehow each trip has managed to be even more special than the last. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
