Guests staying in the Mexican state Quintana Roo are required to pay a travel tax of $11 per adult (over 15 years old). “Wonderful holiday, great staff”

Just enjoyed a lovely 2 week holiday here, we had a garden view room (14), although we did get a view of both the poop and sea too. Room was nice and kept spotlessly clean and well stocked everyday by the lovely cleaner, Mirabel. Plenty of sunbeds round the pool, we were kept “hydrated” at all times by Richard and Lucas, great guys, so friendly and helpful. Although we tried the Thai and Brasserie restaurants in the Fives over the road, the restaurant in the Beachfront is much better in our opinion, particular mention to Bruno, Erik and Frederica (?), wonderful and so hard working, as was pretty much every member of the team we met. The menu isn’t extensive but it is good, coupled with the theme nights (Monday Italian, Wednesday Mexican and Friday Oriental), and a couple of experiences in the Fives itself, and our romantic anniversary meal on the beach, we never got bored. This is a quiet and relaxing holiday, there is a 2 piece music act at dinner (7-9pm), apart from that the only music is a some slightly jazzy versions of well known songs from what would appear to be a very small CD collection, maybe a shake-up of this would be my only suggestion for improvement but it is so minor it in no way affected our enjoyment of the holiday and experience. The hotel operates a Whatsapp service for the Ambassadors, these guys are again so quick, attentive and helpful all the time, nothing is too much trouble, many thanks to Rodrigo & Jaime. We would absolutely love to come back, really hoping nothing (other than the CDs) change before we get the chance to visit again.

The beachfront by the fives is in a close location to their sister hotel which is far larger and busier. The atmosphere in beachfront by the fives is chilled out relaxed atmosphere with lovely views and great entertainment in the form of duets singers who were all very talented. The room was spotless and our room overlooked the garden which was very pretty with the occasional visit from a hummingbird and a coate. Our room was also turned down at night if you wanted the service where you are left a bottle of water by your bed and some delicious truffle chocolate. The housekeeping staff were excellent. I felt it was great value for money the food at the restaurant was exceptional and they were happy to adapt the taster menus for my vegan husband. What makes this hotel is all their wonderful friendly helpful staff every one of them was a credit to the hotel. I had a wonderful holiday.

We stayed at Fives Beach Hotel & were lucky to have dinner at Beachfront Santa Sirena! J. Merkado was the BEST host & made our experience over the top. The food was amazing, ambience was beautiful, bartender was talented, & top tier service. Just WOW!!!
