The hotel

Spanning 30 floors, at the Grand Hyatt you can gaze out over the city and, from higher levels, enjoy views of the Cascade Mountains, Lake Union and Elliott Bay. There’s a choice of dining here, including a New York-style deli and a Ruth’s Chris Steak House, so you can get your fill of prime steaks or seafood specialities, like Lobster Tail with Blackening Spices or Louisiana Seafood Gumbo. And when it comes to drinks, the newly opened Elliott Bar will quench your thirst with a nice glass of bubbles - but if you want to take it up to your room, there's Seattle's only champagne vending machine in the lobby! Chill out at the health club’s steam room, sauna or whirlpool, or wander over to the spa at the sister hotel, Hyatt at Olive 8 — its impressive range of eco-conscious treatments will leave you feeling on top of the world.

Grand experience when we stayed. Nice touches: One block from the Link transit station, welcome champagne upon check in (not sure if everyone gets it or just Elite members), bell service, in room dining, sauna/steam room, champagne vending machine ($27/bottle), electronic blackout shades with switch to move up and down, deep soaking tub, shoe… Read more
Grand experience when we stayed. Nice touches: One block from the Link transit station, welcome champagne upon check in (not sure if everyone gets it or just Elite members), bell service, in room dining, sauna/steam room, champagne vending machine ($27/bottle), electronic blackout shades with switch to move up and down, deep soaking tub, shoe horn with long stem for those having trouble bending, Balmain toiletries, separate shower stall with 2 shower heads, across from the Pacific Mall with Din Tai Fong and Haidilao Hot Pot. Those touches made it special - though some things to note: No robes. No slippers. But everything else in the room was more on the lux end. No pool, but has a whirlpool (steam room and sauna and pool is coed). Hotel doors lock at night but the fact that they need to be locked and the proximity to street people near the 3rd and Pine corridor means taking Uber at night to hotel (we found the walk from Link station fine during day). We got Club certificates so enjoyed access to the Club on the 27th floor. Breakfast was good with standard eggs/bacon and bagels with cream cheese and excellent smoked salmon (came with tomatoes and green onions, but no capers). Happy hour drinks at the Club was $5 and the light fare was light (cheeses, drips, crackers, and hot foods like potstickers or samosas). Cookies were decadent so watch your waistline. All in all, a nice hotel with great luxury touches in a convenient city location. Read less

Stunning hotel in the heart of downtown Seattle. Walking distance to Pike Place Market. Shuttle to Seattle Cruise Port. Everything was immaculate. Ruth’s Chris restaurant next door attached to the hotel. Had a wonderful stay for one night prior to leaving on our Alaska cruise. Would definitely stay here again.

We were especially impressed by the bellmen's service at the hotel. Of the two nights and three days we were there, all three bellmen we met were exceptionally well-mannered, cordial, and helpful. Room was clean and spacious; club staff friendly and nice, but it would be great if there were more variety with the food at the club in the afternoon.

My car was broken into using the parking garage attached to this hotel. I even have dash cam footage of the thieves, Hyatt security had no interest since the incident did not happen inside the hotel. They kept referring me to Seattle PD who never called me back and never sent an officer.
