Casa Marina Key West, Curio Collection by Hilton

Key West, Florida Keys

Star rating

The hotel

Opened on New Year's Eve 1920, Casa Marina Resort is Key West’s original grand resort. Boasting a dramatic 'water walk' that leads to the resort's two largest swimming pools and the largest private beach in Key West, Casa Marina is a tranquil oasis close enough to the action of Duval Street. Offered on-site is a booking centre for world-class diving, fishing and boating, and it also has one of the largest fitness facilities in Key West, allowing you to work off those holiday indulgences! Guest rooms here are contemporary in style with whitewashed walls, textured tile floors and dark tropical hardwoods — a great place to retire to at the end of a busy day seeing the sights. For dining the hotel’s Sun Sun restaurant and bar, an open-air wood pavilion overlooking the pools and beach, is great for those seeking a casual atmosphere and plenty of that Floridian sun!! And as if all this wasn't enough, you can take advantage of the facilities at the sister property, The Reach, just one block away.

From checkin we were given the wrong directions to our room, then I was sent to FOUR different employees across the property to break two $20 to tip their bellmen, stayed three nights and never once had our room cleaned even though we asked for early service, tried to have dinner at the restaurant and elected to sit inside because the sand bugs were so bad and sat with menues for half hour before we got fed up and left the hotel for dinner. Not worth the money. There are many other nice places to stay on the island - not this one. BTW - they claim the longest beach in Key West - it's full of rocks and seagrass so much so that you cant hardly walk on it. Also, the suites look big in the pictures but they are tiny. Read less

White Lotus meets Palm Royale in a five-star experience that rivals any luxury resort. I haven’t encountered this level of service or sophistication since before the pandemic—until last week. My husband and I, along with our two 18-year-olds, spent four unforgettable nights at this incredible resort. It’s beautifully updated yet retains the timeless charm and classic architecture envisioned by its original designers. I could easily imagine my grandparents sipping gin martinis here, listening to the soft notes of a piano echoing through the grand lobby. The rich mahogany hardwood throughout the lobby is warm and inviting—it truly transports you. And the view? One of the best I’ve had in Key West. I’ve stayed at several top-tier resorts near Mallory Square, and this one stands out. The service was impeccable—from housekeeping to the pool attendants and everyone in between. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and we enjoyed multiple lunches poolside at Dorada, the resort’s vibrant restaurant. The experience offered incredible value for what we spent and far exceeded our expectations. Tip: Get the ocean view room. Each evening, our kids joined us in the Canary Lounge for pre-dinner cocktails and mocktails while we played cards—moments we’ll never forget. Don’t miss the Hemingway Daiquiri. Read less

This resort was recently remodeled, and I was excited to stay here based on the description. Let me say first of all this is in no way a five star hotel. It is barely a three. Hilton what has happened you can do so much better than this. This property has such potential. It does not give an overall impression of a five star. The service upon checking in was not great. It was lackluster. Food waiters, and service on the beach was awesome. The remodeled rooms were just so so. Do better.! I do not see how this resort keeps a five star rating based on what I experienced. I have stayed in for our hotels in Aruba and the Turks and Caicos that were 100 times better than this resort. Casa Marina is absolutely worth the stay, and its the only place I'll stay in Key West. Case Marina had some difficulties at the end of its time under a previous flag, but Hilton has invested a lot to make the property top notch, and it is in better condition than I experienced there on any of my previous five stays. I was somewhat nervous before the visit because some of these reviews are particularly discouraging. I visited for a week with my girlfriend, and we both had a wonderful experience, primarily in the beachfront area. The interior spaces are revamped. Our room was in great shape--again, much better than on past stays. Patrick behind the front desk was extraordinarily helpful. The whole staff was accommodating and friendly, but Patrick was present, helpful and thoughtful in everything from proactively finding the best room view for the rate class we booked; to giving advice on restaurants; to answering and addressing the various and sundry questions we had over a weeklong stay. He is a real asset, and I hope the hotel management recognizes that he is not only a perfect ambassador for the hotel, but the best chance the Property has in dispelling any of the bad reviews the hotel has online. He made a huge difference in our stay. Read less

A true vacation. Felt so very spoiled. Beautiful ocean view from the balcony. Had a lovely and comfortable room and bath. Good food and drink at all times of the day. Excellent service, hospitality, and warm greetings from every staffer. Very conveniently located to the beach and attractions.
