We recently stayed at Universal’s Sapphire Falls Resort and, unfortunately, our experience was marred by a serious miscommunication and mishandling regarding a room change that resulted in an unauthorized charge of $3,209 to my credit card. We had inquired about upgrading to a suite and were told to check back on Monday due to unavailability. When we returned, we were offered two connecting standard rooms (so our kids could be in one and we in the other). We were told very clearly that this was a complimentary upgrade and that we would even receive $30 per day in credit for the remainder of our stay. We questioned this multiple times because it seemed too good to be true, but were repeatedly reassured there would be no cost. Later that day, we received a credit card alert showing a charge of $3,209. When we returned to the front desk, staff initially insisted we had signed an upsell agreement — something we absolutely had not done. After a long wait, they eventually produced a form that had only been signed by hotel staff, not by us, and refused at first to even let us see or keep it. Only after escalating further were we allowed to take a photo — which clearly showed no guest signature authorizing the charge. The entire situation caused significant stress for myself and my wife, who suffers from severe anxiety, and completely derailed what should have been a relaxing family holiday. Although the hotel eventually agreed to cancel the charge and revert the room setup, they could not provide any confirmation or receipt, instead telling us to come back in three days. This level of miscommunication, lack of transparency, and delay in resolving a very serious billing error is not what we expect from a Universal resort. We trusted the staff’s word and feel that trust was completely broken. We’re still left shaken by the experience and frustrated by the time and energy it took to get the situation partially resolved. I hope that management takes this review seriously and implements better training and internal controls to ensure no other family has to go through this. Additionally the room we moved back into after this ordeal has rattling pipes in the shower, is a far walk from the elevators, noting that the further away from the elevator you get the less effort they put in the decor and carpets etc and the phone doesn’t work so we can’t even complain to boot …. On purpose perhaps? Read less

After a disappointing start to our trip at another Universal hotel, we moved to Loews Sapphire Falls Resort—and what a difference! From the moment we walked in, we felt the shift. The resort is beautiful, clean, and spacious, with rates that are actually reasonable, especially when compared to the overpriced and underwhelming Helios Grand. The rooms are roomy and spotless, which made a huge difference for our family, especially with a child on the spectrum who needs space and calm. The resort is full of fun kid-friendly activities—our kids loved the pool with a waterslide, the hot tub, the splash pad, and even the sandy beach area for play and relaxation. It’s a dream spot for families. The staff at Sapphire Falls were exceptional, so kind, attentive, and quick to respond to any request. Every person we interacted with went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free. And the food? Delicious and consistent, unlike what we experienced at the previous hotel. We are truly so much happier here and finally able to enjoy our vacation. If you’re visiting Universal Orlando, skip the hype and head straight to Loews Sapphire Falls. It’s worth every penny and every smile. Read less

The reception staff point blank refused to take any responsibility for this and told us to take it up with the company we booked with. They did however offer to get us what we needed to make it somehow workable. More camp beds, pillows, blankets, towels, chairs!! With 5 suitcases and not many places to unpack, this was not ideal for 5 nights!! Breakfast here is brilliant. So much choice. Dinner and room service were average. Overall service was good. Air con was very noisy indeed! Room was clean but with very limited kitchen Provisions. Pool area has plenty of room and good water slide. Arcade is ok, but expensive. Boat service to theme parks is great! Read less

We travelled to Orlando and stayed at sapphire falls for 10 nights because it was in a convenient location and had water taxis available to get to the universal theme parks. Upon arrival, staff were very friendly and told us all the information we needed for our stay, they also have luggage services available so that if you'd like they will take whatever luggage you have to your room for you. Our room was very clean and the bathroom was also spotless, despite not paying any extra for a view, we had an incredible view overlooking the water taxis and waterfalls at the hotel. Our room was cleaned almost every day whilst we were there and cleaning staff were very friendly and always said hello when we passed them in corridors. The pool was huge and there were some beach balls scattered about for you to play games with, and there were also games by the pool going on once and hour for children and adults (hula hooping, pool noodle relay races, water balloon fights) where you could win smoothies/alcoholic beverages from the pool bar. The pool bar prices weren't cheap but I would say they are good value for the quality of food and portion sizes, and there is a huge range of things to choose from. Again, pool lifeguards and bar staff were very helpful and accommodating. The water taxis were very convenient and you never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for the next one to arrive. The captains were always very welcoming and one in particular who made jokes about water chickens and talked you through the whole ride was absolutely fantastic! At the shop in the lobby you could buy ice cream, smoothies, coffees, warm pretzels, fresh sandwiches, fruit and yoghurt along with lots of pre packaged snacks like crisps, chocolate and sweets. They also have hot meals in the evenings like Mac and cheese, chicken and rice. The prices here were quite reasonable. I would recommend buying a coca cola freestyle cup whilst you stay at the hotel, as it allows you to get unlimited refills and is much better value than just buying individual drinks. Overall, our stay couldn't have been better and I would 100% recommend you to stay at this hotel if ever visiting. Read less

Pros : Beautiful Hotel, Location and Transport to Theme Park Area, Clean Rooms and facilities in room, Great Cleaning ( maid ) service, Pool Area and Sunbeds / Atmosphere at Pool / Activities. Biggest Issues (which really let this hotel down big time) Food / Drink Prices ...... $12 + automatically added tip @ 18% (unless you ask them to remove it - which you at your own risk) + tax =$32 (for two small beers in plastic ups ) ????? - $8 for the bottle of water in your room ???? Meal prices in the restaurants Prices in the poorly stocked shop - $8 for a can of beer, $40 for a bottle of wine ??? $7 for nuts??? - All plus tax. Breakfast in the main restaurant is a total rip off and don't expect to eat normally for less than $150 for 3 people. Biggest Issues with our stay that really changed our view of the Hotel : No assistance or offer of assistance with cases on arrival at front of hotel... that was a first - but didn't mind bringing 5 cases to our room alone. Its a very Pet Friendly Hotel (Not aware of this and wouldn't have booked if we had known the amount of dangerous dogs walking about unmuzzled) 2 occurrences of dogs soiling the main lifts and main corridor. Really didn't expect dogs everywhere in the Lobby and Lounge Area and didn't appreciate eating with a random Pitbull and Huskie 2 ft away from us in the Lobby sitting up on the soft seats where guests are supposed to relax. Issues with uncooked and missing food in the main Restaurant. Had to move from pool 4 times due to thunderstorms (which is totally understandable) - Unfortunately our lunch was put into paper bags by the server to take to main hotel lobby, upon opening, items from our order were missing. Notified Concierge at the time and was told this would be credited back. This didn't happen and when highlighted at checkout was not rectified on bill. Also highlighted issues with dogs in lounge and was told pets are allowed in all the public areas apart from the pool (which isn't the case on the website) All these issues were highlighted on the review at checkout and were met by one of the most unprofessional responses I have ever had in many years of travelling. At this price I would expect way better service and action on the Issues I had highlighted - but it is what it is... and all I can say is I will not be back. All in the room alone without any hotel food or drink added - Cost $4742 for two weeks - Just for the room - If you are paying those sort of prices - you expect a bit better. Read less
