We stayed at The Viv Hotel Anaheim in January for the Disneyland Half Marathon, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The location is super convenient — just a short walk from the starting line, which made race day so much easier. The hotel is new, modern, and part of Marriott, so everything feels fresh and upscale. We stayed in a room with bunk beds, which was such a fun and practical setup for families. And here’s a bonus: we were able to watch the Disneyland fireworks right from our room window — absolute magic after a long day! Two pools, a rooftop restaurant with amazing views (Top of The V), and a family-friendly vibe throughout made this a fantastic stay. Whether you're in town for Disney, a race, or just a getaway, The Viv checks all the boxes! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Read less

I will preface this by pointing out that I have elite status with Marriott, and, therefore, should have received better treatment than others might get at this hotel. The hotel is located across Interstate 5 from Disneyland. While the hotel is served by the (not free) ART shuttle, I had no problems walking back and forth to the parks every day. Once on the other side of the highway, there were people walking from other hotels. I was "upgraded" to a fireworks view room. What this really meant was that I was directly above the freeway. Given that there were no fireworks for my entire stay, this was pretty pointless, and the staff should have known. All I got highway noise. The room left a lot more than quiet to be desired. The full-length curtains required opening privacy curtain to close room-darkening curtain, i.e., you had to open the curtains to completely close them. And housekeeping left the curtains in a different state every day. The hot water service time was very poor, and I experienced issues with sudden water pressure drops. This meant that taking a shower in the morning could be lengthier than expected. Also, in the bathroom, I could clearly hear people in other rooms through the vent. And, not just people talking in their bathrooms, but their televisions -- definitely not in the bathroom. Housekeeping was poor: the "light touch" was sometimes "no touch." Every day, a different combination of trash cans was emptied. Not all the used towels were replaced every day -- to the point that I had to use a hand towel as a washcloth for my last shower. For the entire stay, a glass was placed lip-down directly on the bathroom counter, even though they have paper coasters. The worst was housekeeping would mess with the thermostat. It would be acceptable if they turned it off everyday, except that's not what happened. One day they turned it off. One day they turned it up. One day they turned it down. One day they left it unchanged. I would just come back from the parks each night to a different situation. The towels were mismatched. At one point, I had three bath towels, each of which was a different brand, size, and shade of dingy white. This is just being cheap. The elevators are really noisy. By that, I mean they ding so loud that you can't tell if an elevator is stopping on your floor or one two below. And, even if it's for your floor, you have to check the lights to tell which one is for you, as it's difficult to tell. One more thing: Another review complained that there was only one luggage cart in the hotel. My guess is it's because they're just randomly sitting in the hallways. One night, I saw three carts on my floor just on the way to my room. Would I stay here again? Only if it's cheap enough. But there are so many options.... Read less

I recently stayed at The Viv Hotel and while the hotel itself is clean, comfortable , and the staff was generally friendly, my experience was overshadowed by an issue with their lost and found process. I left my Kindle - which I use for work purposes - in my hotel room. It was in plain view, and I called the same day I checked out to report it. I was directed to file a report on their online lost and found system, which I did immediately. After not hearing back, I followed up the next day and provided my phone number and Item description, but no one called me back. Over the next week and a half, I made several calls to the hotel, each time being told they would follow up or pass a message to housekeeping - yet no one reached out. I was consistently patient and clear about the urgency of retrieving my item, but it took nearly two weeks before I finally received a response, only to be told my Kindle was not found. I am certain of where I left it, and the lack of timely communication combined with the failure to locate an item that was left in plain site in the room has made me lose trust in the hotel's ability to keep guests' belongings safe. While the hotel itself is comfortable and well-maintained, this experience was extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, because of the lack of follow-through and the unresolved issue with y item, I would not choose to stay here again. As nice as the staff is, the lack of attention to these types of issues negates any good interaction you have with them. Read less

I stayed for 2 nights during a trade show at the Anaheim Convention Ctr. Was concerned ahead of time due to several negative reviews, but actual experience was excellent, including friendly/helpful staff, dining, bar, and spacious room. Thank you, hotel management and staff!
