Pros: 1 The kitchen facility was very good. I did do some cooking one evening and had all the equipment I needed including dish towels, dish washer, pots, pans and utensils. I really liked that they had a stove top with two burners and not just a microwave. The refrigerator was full size and we were able to fit everything in with room to spare. 2 The breakfast was very good and not all the same every morning, which is definitely a plus. The bread they have is excellent. The people who the breakfast are very nice and accommodating. 3 The location is excellent. Just a few blocks from TKTS and only one block from Port Authority. If you come into the city or leave by bus this is very convenient. 4 The room is clean and the bed was comfortable. 5 The happy hour from Monday – Thursday is definitely a wonderful bonus that would definitely motivate me to return to the hotel. Cons: 1 The MAJOR problem with the hotel is the complete shut down of one of the three elevators and the way the other two are being managed. If you are on the lower floors (2-20) and try to go down it can sometimes take close to a half hour to get to the 1st floor because the elevator keeps skipping your floor. The reason for this is that the elevator is full from taking on people from the 20 – 40th floors and is often being manually operated by hotel personal. When the breakfast crowed tries to get down from floors 2 – 20 many come too late and miss the breakfast since it takes so long to get down to the first floor. One thing that can alleviate this problem is to make one elevator go from 2 – 20, and the other go from 20 – 40. This type of management is similarly done in many high rise buildings that have a lot of elevator traffic. I gave my suggestion about this to the management but nothing was done. This problem is going to exist for a while at this hotel unless some better elevator management is arranged. 2 Bathroom configuration: a. The hand towel racks are behind the door to the bathroom. The door has to be closed before you can get to the towels. The solution is simple: put a towel rack hanging from the front of the sink. b. There is no place to hang the bath towel or mat after it is used since the shower doors extend to the ceiling. There are hooks on back of the bathroom door, but they are not adequate since they are very small and the towel keeps falling off. I liked the hotel very much and would definitely stay there again. Hopefully the elevator situation will be taken care of ASAP. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Good hotel, but some people working at the reception could improve it

The hotel has many positive aspects: central location, generous breakfast, Wi-Fi, light aperitif from Monday to Friday, clean rooms, and a well-equipped kitchenette. However, there are also serious issues that need to be addressed. One of the biggest problems was the attitude of the reception staff. The senior receptionist (a tall, thin man) was extremely rude and unprofessional. When my wife reported several issues in our room (only one of the two stovetops working, and problems with the shower and sink drains), instead of immediately suggesting a room change, he told her we could just leave the hotel if we didn’t like it. Very unpleasant and unacceptable. Another major issue: we had already paid the full amount at check-in, including taxes and the deposit. On the last day, just a couple of hours after checking out, the deposit was charged again, so we ended up paying it twice. When we asked for clarification, the reception simply told us we would get the refund in a few days, without giving any proper explanation. I hope this is true, but it left us with a very bad impression. Lastly, a smaller but still important point: the rooms have only a desk, which is impractical for a family of four. If you provide a kitchenette, there should be a proper table where guests can sit and eat together. Overall, the hotel has potential, but unless management invests in staff training and addresses these issues, it’s hard to recommend. Read less

They still have not paid my security deposit back and I left the room in immaculate condition. Have tried to call a number of times for a run around and have emailed unsuccessfully.

The room was quite large complete with a fully stocked kitchenette. The room was clean and quiet. We could not hear anyone in the hall or traffic down below. The bed was nice and comfortable allowing both of us to get a good night's sleep. The shower had plenty of hot water with good pressure. Breakfast is included with your stay. Breakfast is pretty standard with scrambled eggs, sausage ,pancakes and the like. Nothing great, it is free and filling. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again. Read less

We spent 4 nights in this hotel, which is correct in every way. Except that after check out, I asked to go to the bathroom. The receptionist gave me an access card to a room on the 4th floor accessible only by stairs. When I got to the room, the card didn't open the door. I went back downstairs and after a 5-minute wait he gave me another card. I… Read more
