I love the location of this hotel. I have stayed several times. Is the Front desk that never gets it right! This time around I must say that Manager Al save the experience with easy access and quick to resolve issues. With a manager like him I’m surprised the front desk staff is not to his level.

I stayed at the New York Hilton Midtown as part of a city break, drawn by its fantastic location. The hotel is a vast, imposing building on 6th Avenue. Upon entering, the lobby is grand in scale, with a long bank of check-in desks and a large central sculpture. Beyond that, however, the space feels functional rather than welcoming. The check-in process was handled politely and efficiently, though it felt very transactional, with little of the warm welcome or proactive suggestions one might hope for at the start of a trip. As is common in many US hotels, there is a mandatory 'destination charge' of $35 per day. This provides a daily credit for the hotel's food outlets, a $25 laundry credit, and premium internet access. The Room I was allocated a 'City Room' with a king-size bed on the 27th floor. The first impression was underwhelming. The decor felt dated and institutional, lacking any real character or colour, and there were noticeable signs of wear and tear in several places. For amenities, the room was spartan. The fridge was empty and switched off, and notably for UK visitors, there were no in-room facilities to make tea or coffee. The overall cleanliness was also questionable. The TV remote control, for instance, was visibly dirty, which makes you wonder about the attention to detail elsewhere. Breakfast My booking included breakfast, but it's worth noting the à la carte pricing is steep: $29.95 for the Continental option and a significant $44.95 for the American Buffet, which approaches $50 per person once taxes are added. For this price, the food selection was surprisingly uninspired, consisting mostly of standard, bought-in items laid out for self-service. The one redeeming feature was the omelette station, where the food was made fresh to order and the portions were generous. Overall Ultimately, the hotel's greatest asset is its unbeatable Midtown location. However, this is where the positives largely ended for me. The hotel feels vast and impersonal, with a noticeable lack of warmth from the staff and an atmosphere that feels more like a busy transit hub than a welcoming hotel. The dated room and borderline cleanliness were disappointing. Given the sheer number of alternative hotels in New York, I am unlikely to stay here again. Read less

Hotel is in a prime location really close to Central Park. Check in quick and easy given vouchers for breakfast. The breakfast choice is excellent ready to set you up for a day of sightseeing. Rooms are clean and not noisy even on Main Street. Luggage room available after check out. Staff all helpful.

Excellent stay! The fastest response for a service call in a hotel this size. It was as if maintenance was standing at the door. Our fridge wasn’t keeping things cold and fixed just like that.
