We have been waiting to check in for over an hour to check in. We have only gone about halfway up the line. Security is walking around, but no one is giving any reason for this. It is past midnight. There are people with children sleeping on the floor. This the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Do not ever stay here, it is horrible. And the… Read more

The only good thing about this hotel is that is in Times Square. It has been a week since our visit and I was charged 3 $150 'incidental fees', which was not a big deal assuming we would get them back. I now have a $103 and $164 charge with no explanation and cannot get ahold of any management. That wasn't even the worst part about our stay! We… Read more

It has been a week since our visit and I was charged 3 $150 'incidental fees', which was not a big deal assuming we would get them back. I now have a $103 and $164 charge with no explanation and cannot get ahold of any management. That wasn't even the worst part about our stay! We check in on the app early for 1:00pm the day before we arrived, and got there at 1pm to check into both of our rooms. They said we would not be able to check in until 4:00pm, which wasn't that big of a deal, they don't promise early check in anyways. I put my credit card on file and 'check in', waiting until 4 to get our room keys. We come back around 8:00pm to get to our rooms (we had two rooms for 6 people). I then wait an hour in the front desk line to then finally get told our rooms are still not ready. Then at 9:45pm we get access to one room but still waiting on the second. At this point myself and two others from our group had talked to three different people, just trying to get into our room. Finally at 10:45 PM we get access to the second room. We then ask the management for some kind of reimbursement or anything due to us paying for two rooms on Friday and not getting in them until close to midnight. The management offers one of the girls (out of six) a free breakfast voucher to apologize. We tried to talk to management three different times and were ignored every time. Long story short, we won't be staying here again and will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Read less

On arrival to NYC I knew that there was a destination fee all NYC hotels charge, the Hotel Sheraton in Times Square give their guests a $30 a day voucher to spend in the hotel if the $30 a day (per room) destination fee is paid in advance eg via holiday package - which mine was. The hotels bar/ Starbucks (heads up there isn’t an actual Starbucks in the hotel as advertised, the bar opens up as a Starbucks in the mornings only and the queues are mighty), the bar was always so crowded around this with queues so I only actually redeemed the $30 a day voucher once in a 5 day stay, and I assume many other guests chose not to wait in queues either and therefore did not use. By far the biggest gripe is that on check in I was additionally asked for a $150 incidental deposit - which is a requirement not advertised anywhere. I was told this would be returned at check out if I had no incidentals - which I didn’t during my stay. After departing the hotel well over a week ago the incidental deposit has still not been returned, and after this happened to me I have since read many similar reviews of other guests, some still waiting for deposit returns months later. I am writing this review for *visitors to this hotel so they can beware that they will be asked for deposit on check in that they may not see returned any time soon after check out or even at all* & many other reviews highlight that’s it’s almost impossible to talk to someone helpful to sort out - I am now just realizing this. In addition, be prepared for dire reception service in the hotel, its the worst I have ever seen in any hotel across the world - be prepared to queue for unknown lengths of time (which is a spirit breaking start to any holiday - particularly after a long flight to get there!) as you will be greeted on arrival with a busy foyer of guests all trying to check in/ out and the hotel will only have one person on the desk…who I can almost guarantee will be the most unhelpful person you’ve ever met - having waited & waited in a queue.. during time which should be your holiday…when you do finally get to the desk, you’re processed ridiculously slow with zero niceties! Enjoy! This experience marred what was a truly great visit to NYC - Sheraton Times Sq sort guest deposits on check out and the diabolical reception service ; surely guests should be valued more than that? The only plus staying at this hotel was the location and the housekeeping staff who were amazing & very friendly - a very stark contrast to the reception staff! Read less
