The rooms and bed were comfortable and I like the snack ab as you enter. It's convenient to the theatre district as well and some restaurants. Joh Hines.

I have been a loyal Marriott guest for years, and I can honestly say my recent stay at the Sheraton New York City was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had with the brand. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that professionalism and guest care were not priorities. That promise was never honored. Instead of accountability, I was met with excuses and indifference. What makes this worse is that the issue was not just about the the room it was about the complete lack of ownership by the staff. Promises were made, but not kept. For a property carrying the Sheraton name, this level of service is unacceptable. The staff seemed disengaged, unprofessional, and unwilling to take responsibility for even the simplest issues. At this level of the hospitality industry, that is inexcusable. Marriott has built its reputation on loyalty and consistency, but this location has seriously tarnished that reputation. Guests should not have to beg for basic comfort or honesty. I will not be staying at this property again, and I strongly caution other travelers to look elsewhere if they expect a professional, comfortable, and reliable stay in New York City. Read less

The two women at check in were embroiled in a heated discussion about a co-worker and I felt like I was interrupting. All in all, not the experience I had here several years ago. Read less

I have stayed here many times. It's never been great, but it's very conveniently located, especially when we travel to New York for theatre. So when we went in May with friends, we recommended the hotel. And we ended up apologizing profusely to them. We weren't told about the massive level of construction. The usual hotel bar was gone. Hallways were sealed off. For some reason, the construction meant that even as Marriott Gold members, we had no water in our room and had to take paper vouchers to the gift shop to pick them up. (And of course there was no room service, and what was left of the bar closed early.) The parts of the hotel that weren't under construction really showed signs of aging -- chipping, peeling, paint, dirty walls and floorboards, etc. It felt like a two-star hotel, with even the staff seeming to be annoyed by how awful everything was. The hotel certainly needs a complete renovation, so good for them for finally doing some upkeep. But the horrible experience we had there makes it highly unlikely that we will ever return, even after improvements are finally done. It's truly disappointing. And we are mortified bringing our friends there. Read less
