Booked two rooms for 4 nights. One of the rooms was smelly and the airconditioning couldn’t be regulated. Sometimes the carpet around the aircon was wet. 5 trips to the lobby and they couldn’t fix this problem. They offered to change rooms which wasn’t feasible because we the parents wanted to be next to our kids which wasn’t offered. A discount… Read more

Overall an very overpriced hotel with old rooms, technical problems, unhelpful and understaffed crew. Avoid this hotel! Read less

The location is good hence most booking agents book this hotel at a premium price with IHG brand but rooms are filthy, linen is dirty, pipes/faucets leak, moss over lamps and wooden furniture. Staff is highly unresponsive and least bit concerned about your queries. Managers always seems to be off duty. Don't take breakfast inclusive since it's a joke ( 1 fruit, 1 beverage, 1 bread) for which you need to stand in a long queue. Positive: Mohammed at front desk is very good Negative: avoid Racquel at the front desk. Being an IHG member I escalated to their website and chat, they passed the case to the hotel and inspite of my room number, phone number being present in the case and me staying in the hotel, the Director of Front Desk preferred to write an email to me which sounded a mere formality with no response to my response to his email. We extended our cruise overnight stay to four nights in NYC and selected this hotel due to its great location in Times Square and it came with breakfast. On arrival, we were allocated our room, headed up in the lift which sounded on its last legs, squeaking and creaking all the way to our floor, but we got there and the porter quickly arrived with the cases. On exit, he asked if there was anything else but may as well put his hand out for a tip. I understand protocol, didn't need reminding, and duly obliged. The room was dated but clean enough, quick bite and drink, and after a long day, we headed to bed. Our room was in close proximity to the loud lift and all of us kept getting disturbed through the night as the lift kept getting used. In the morning, I asked for a room change which was arranged and we were given a different room, lower floor. No porter assistance offered to move cases, so we set about repacking everything we'd unpacked the night before, then dragged our cases to the new room. To be fair, the room was bigger but was on the Times Square Side, so when we slept you still got the silhouette from the giant screens outside, but decided no complaining this time as we had already moved once. Whenever we went to the service desk, we got dealt with cordially but no accompanying smile or great service that America is famous for. Breakfast wasn't what I expected, pretty much a bottle of juice, piece of fruit and muffin or croissant served in a brown bag, shouldn't really have been marketed as being a breakfast. Overall, it didn't meet my expectations of what it would be like staying in such a famous location, so left underwhelmed. Read less

We stayed in a one-bedroom unit on the second floor. We arrived very late, after midnight and were completely exhausted. Otherwise, I would have definitely asked to change rooms. Issues we experienced during our stay: 1.Lack of preparation: Before our arrival, I requested an extra bedding set, as I would be sharing the sofa bed with my child. The hotel replied, “We will note the reservation with your requests.” Unfortunately, nothing was prepared. I had to call room service at 1 a.m., and we waited 40 minutes for the bedding to arrive—while already exhausted and just wanting to sleep. 2.Air conditioning: The air conditioning unit had no switch or control panel for adjusting the temperature, so we were stuck with the default setting, which was not comfortable. 3.TV issues: The television was not working at all during our stay. 4.Hair dryer problem: Out of three hair dryers, only one was working. We asked housekeeping to bring at least one functioning dryer. They took the broken one but never returned with a replacement. 5.Missing amenities: We didn’t have all the facilities in the room as listed at the time of booking. A few advertised features were simply not there. 6.View & room description: The room itself was okay in terms of cleanliness and layout. However, we had zero view—half of the window was covered with a protective film, and the other half faced a wall and the roof over the hotel entrance. I wish this had been disclosed during booking. 7.Misleading photos: Besides all that, the room in reality did not correspond to the pictures shown on the app. It felt darker, smaller, and less inviting than advertised. Positives: 1.The location is excellent—convenient and central. 2. The staff were friendly and polite throughout our stay. Read less
