We got a room with a view of the Empire state building and it was beautiful! The restaurant food was some of the best we had during our trip, and if you join the Virgin hotels rewards program (free!) you'll get drink tickets to use every day during happy hour :) Lots of amenities, the spa and rooftop bar are great! I’ve stayed twice w my children and I love this hotel . Great location . Great pool and kids are allowed at a specific time , morning before 12 pm , which works great because the pool is not too crowded and usually has mostly families .

Our room 915 as advertised had two double beds, however they are tiny, so small in fact we had to request extra bedding so we could make a bed for one of our family on the floor. Broken blinds, bed, blown light bulbs and bare wires in the bathroom completed the facilities on offer. Housekeeping is inconsistent to say the least complemented by aloof front desk staff, shoutout to the bell team, friendly and welcoming, the hotel really lacks a real concierge with local knowledge though. Alongside location, we chose this hotel for the pool, if like us this is part of your decision making, don’t bother. Every time we went to try and use it we found it full with non residents, drinking and giving annoyed tuts and angry stares if you got them wet and interrupted their posing and social media photos. The whole environment was uncomfortable and unpleasant. This is not a luxury or boutique hotel, there are far better options in NYC. Read less
