The hotel is fine, nothing special. My room was clean and functional. There were a few little issues that added up. The bed pillows are what I would call mushy. They have some kind of synthetic fill and provide no support at all. When I asked for feather pillows, they were even worse. The TV requires two remote controls to operate, one to change… Read more

They have some kind of synthetic fill and provide no support at all. When I asked for feather pillows, they were even worse. The TV requires two remote controls to operate, one to change the channel and one to adjust the volume. And apparently the only free filtered drinking water is at water stations on each floor. You need to provide your own water bottle, which nobody told me when I made the booking. All in all not bad, but I wouldn't return. Read less

Lets be honest, the baseline of hotels in NYC suck. Lets be honest, the baseline of hotels in NYC suck. I don't listen to "5 star" recommendations anymore, because you end up in a hotel built in the 20s, with a broken AC on the first hot day of the year. That's what happened to me TWICE and both times, I've ended my stay at the Virgin hotel NYC. It's a great hotel room. The rooms are unconventional, but as you spend some time in them, they're so well thought out. A switch above the bed that turns off all of the lights in the entire room - that's just a simple, smart thing, instead of fumbling around in the dark to find the shower light. The bed's are comfortable. Genuinely comfortable. Something that I'm finding to be a real luxury in the NYC. But to me, the most important part - I'm writing this COLD from the AC in May of 2025. I don't know about you, but I can't sleep in anything but the arctic. This place lets you set it cold, stays cold, and is a modern building (chat GPT told me so). It's got all the other stuff too, TV streaming actually worked, wifi is fast and there's no limit to your devices, it's aesthetic is actually kind of nice, and the view of both rooms I've had look directly at the Empire State building. But lastly - the staff is fantastic. I've come here fleeing two different hotels that didn't pan out, and they've taken care of me. Early check-in, free food and drinks, waving fees. Shout out Tercelle Abraham for the EARLY early check-in yesterday. Saved me. All in all, stay here. It's great. Read less

In preparation for my upcoming wedding, my family and I visited New York, to do some wedding dress shopping. It was important to us that we curated the perfect experience and our stay at the Virgin Hotel made this experience unforgettable. We were greeted by Denzel who was so helpful in getting us settled, and helping us coordinate our weekends itinerary with with hotel restaurant recommendations and informing us about the spa amenities, as well as providing much needed insight on the parking and transit for the weekend, as we are not locals. Denzel was pivotal absolutely planning our next stay. Everything from the Atmosphere to the views were exceptional, including the cleanliness of the rooms and the thoughtful accommodations …..but the staff and the service made our stay the most special! Diana and Carla were very king and boosted our service experience with their accommodations. The rooftop restaurant was our favorite. We were greeted by Jordan who was so kind informative about seating options, and menus suggestions. Jordan ensured we had seats with the best views and even greeted us by name on our last day! I have never had such a positive service experience at a traditional hotel. I’m looking forward to becoming a loyal member of this hotel chain, as they clearly prioritize the luxury experiences of their customers. 10/10, will definitely be returning! Read less

Virgin Hotel is in a great location, near Penn Station, Herald Square (Macy's), Madison Square Garden, and pretty much in the heart of KoreaTown. I will say the managers we met on three different occasions were terrific: Denzel, Justin, and Juliana. They did what they had to do to make any corrections to our issues. I'm hoping ours was the luck of the draw and future stays will be seamless. Read less

This was our second staycation at The Virgin Hotel. We live in downtown Manhattan. The design continues to be spectacular, we got an Empire State Building view King Chamber this time on a very high floor. Great views! However, the service at this hotel continues to disappoint. The cleaning crew was about to walk in with just a 5 second wait after the knock and they did not speak english; I was in my undies. The receptionist was chewing gum, which is not very pleasant both over the phone or in person. Yikes! The drink voucher was forgotten, and the bar staff would not help. The wait at the bar was outrageous for the guests staying in-house. There are many luxury hotel with great views and far better service in Manhattan. Spare yourself, and find another, or simply drop your standards by a mile. Good luck. Read less
