The staff at Double Tree is amazing! Troy and Marcos were working when our school field trip arrived after midnight following a canceled flight home. We arrived -fifteen very exhausted, grumpy teens and five adults who were at our limit and Troy and Marcos worked with us to help us get the room setups we needed. This is extremely difficult considering sleeping arrangements that meet requirements for chaperones and teenagers. Troy and Marcos were kind, patient, and extraordinarily helpful! The hotel was spectacular, clean, comfortable, quiet and accommodating. The staff worked with us again in the morning to shuttle all our people back to the airport on time for our new flight. Again, the morning staff was kind, patient, and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to the DC area! Read less

Every hotel staff member I encountered was kind and helpful. Parking was really convenient - expensive but convenient. I read another review that said the parking garage was full when they arrived, so I arrived early and had no trouble with parking. This hotel was great! I appreciated the water bottles and warm cookie I received upon arrival. That cookie was delicious! I would have given a 5 star review but the room had some dust floating around and the bathroom is small. Otherwise this was a great stay and I'd book this hotel again. Read less

Stayed at this location for one night to make catching a flight at National easier. Overall it was ok--main benefits are its proximity to the airport and Pentagon City. Rooms: There is a special place for hotel architects who design bathrooms where you have to close the door to use a toilet--not for privacy, but because you literally can't use the toilet if the door is open unless you want to gash the hell out of your shins. That popcorn ceiling: have you had it tested for asbestos? Beds: need replacing--there is a definite slope developing due to age. Please for the love of the 21st century, stop with the power strips and install some USB chargers--no one wants that 1985 alarm clock. Desk staff: kind folks who handed out some bottled water on check-in (no cookies though). Shuttle staff: this was probably the worst aspect of my experience. I waited for 15 minutes for the shuttle, then had to dash into the airport to use the restroom. Returning less than five minutes later, I saw the shuttle waiting at the stop and the driver loading in luggage. Despite running, and yelling, the shuttle driver never once looked back to see if anyone was coming, got back in, and pulled away. Another 20 minutes, and a new shuttle appeared--the driver did not ask if anyone was going to Embassy Suites, and as a result, we made stop there no one needed. On arrival at the hotel, there was a pitch for tips. Hilton: please just pay your employees a living wage. I have never seen so many QR codes encouraging customers to tip anywhere. On the shuttle. In the rooms. Paris has enough laptops. Read less
