The staff are outstanding and there are great amenities. The location is unbeatable, literally two minutes’ walk away from Dupont Circle metro station. From there, all of DMV is at your disposal; we went to Tyson’s Corner for one day and Chevy Chase the next, all quickly and easily. It’s an older hotel, which shows in places. From there, all of DMV is at your disposal; we went to Tyson’s Corner for one day and Chevy Chase the next, all quickly and easily. It’s an older hotel, which shows in places. Our first room had an AC leak. The room they moved us to had a broken lamp (which they replaced quickly) and a leaky shower head that sprayed a little water on the sink. If you’re looking at top-line room rates, consider that parking (which won’t be included in the top-line rate, as some people won’t need it) is $70/night, and they charge a $28 “destination fee” that buys you credit at the restaurant—they’re more or less forcing you to buy their food. I don’t like that, but that’s on Marriott, not them. As for parking, it’s likely to be expensive all over the area, but this might factor into a decision to bring a car versus flying and doing Metro/cab/rideshare. Read less

The rooms are small but COZY. The amenities and games are fun, but by far the best part of this experience has been the staff. They are attentive friendly and kind. From the moment our car was taken by the valet the staff made SURE we were taken care of. Then first thing in the morning I’m greeted by Julie Almonte, with mimosas in hand asking for feed back and I told her exactly how amazing this stay has been treating us! I can’t wait to come back! The pool and game room are both scenic and a fun time. I can’t recommend your next stay here enough. Read less

The location of this hotel was great! And loved the free book aspect, not to mention they gave our 5 yr old a bracelet and a lollipop! The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because we unfortunately had to switch hotels after one day due to hotel events that were not age appropriate for our daughter, ie: adult pool parties and whatnot. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because we unfortunately had to switch hotels after one day due to hotel events that were not age appropriate for our daughter, ie: adult pool parties and whatnot. We were not aware of this upon booking but Cookie at the front desk was super helpful in providing guidance and “mom to mom” advice on what to do. She allowed us an early checkout and provided tips on travel due to road closures and whatnot. She was so sweet to our daughter as well! Read less

I am particularly grateful to Negash for the patience in answering my queries, for always checking on me everytime I’m a bit lost—which I wonder if he is a psychic for ancipating my need everytime I’m in the lobby. He is such a warm buddy. He is very consistent with his attitude. I have been observing him at a far. And the genuine attention and care he is extending to the guest are admirable. He makes the whole experience worthwhile and memorable. As a government official from the Philippines, I get to be hosted in hotels but The Ven experience is one for the books. Read less
