The hotel

In the Maldivian language of Dhivehi, ‘Lobi’ means love and ‘Gili’ means island, so therefore Lobigili is, in essence, the island of love. If you’re looking for a romantic trip for two, this is it. Set in an idyllic location with white sandy beaches and sparkling waters, the adult-only OBLU SELECT Lobigili offers some experiences to make this a trip you will never forget. The largest underwater restaurant in the Maldives, Only BLU offers modern gourmet cuisine with a front row seat to the coral reef – and it’s included in the excellent Lobi Plan. This indulgent plan also includes a complimentary sunset fishing trip and a guided snorkelling trip, so you’ll get to see the best of the island and it’s surroundings after that relax with the included spa treatments. Both the beachfront and over water suites have a modern feel with semi open-air bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes, why not upgrade to the water pool villa for that added luxury of a private infinity pool overlooking the lagoon.

Where is it

Located on the island of Lobigili, just 15 minutes North West of Male International Airport by boat. Complimentary speedboat transfer to and from Malé International Airport.

68 stylishly designed villas, all with air-conditioning, tea/coffee-making facilities, iron and ironing board, complimentary mini-bar replenished daily, robe and slippers, hairdryer, flat-screen LCD TV, in-room safe, separate bath tub and rain shower, and complimentary WiFi access. All villas have 1 king-size bed, sleeping 2 adults.

SunNest Beach Pool Villas feature an open air bathroom, cosy veranda, walk-in wardrobe, and a private pool just steps from the beach.

Please note: all rooms have a minimum occupancy of 2 people. Single occupancy is not accepted.

All Inclusive - The Lobi Plan: includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner served at Ylang-Ylang. Selection of freshly prepared local snacks served between 4:00-6:00pm at The Swing Bar. One a la carte fine dining experience per guest per each four nights stayed at Only BLU (pre-booking required, subject to availability). One dining experience per guest per each four nights stayed at Gaadiya 17 Food Truck. Unlimited orders from a wide selection of liquor and premium wines at Ylang Ylang and The Swing Bar, and unlimited orders of signature cocktails from a selected list at The Swing Bar. Soft drinks, mineralised water, and an assortment of tea and coffee available at all outlets. Complimentary use of snorkelling equipment throughout the stay. Complimentary selection of non-motorised water sports. One complimentary sunset fishing trip per guest per stay (weather permitting). One complimentary snorkelling guide trip per guest per stay (weather permitting). In-villa minibar replenished daily with an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with a selection of snacks. Unlimited access to the over water gymnasium. Daily live music performances at The Swing Bar. One 45 minute spa treatment per person per every 4 night stay (4 night minimum stay required).

Nest Water Villas are situated over the ocean with direct lagoon access, an outdoor shower, and a private overwater hammock.

SunNest Water Pool Villas are similar to the Water Villas, with the addition of a private infinity pool.

Ylang-Ylang (all-day dining with a la carte menu and live cooking stations). The Swing Bar (poolside bar with live music, afternoon snacks, and drinks throughout the day). Only BLU (underwater fine-dining restaurant). Gaadiya 17 Food Truck (casual dining on the beach, serving a range of exotic game meats). Guests can also dine at Element X at OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi as this is included within the All Inclusive plan.

Fabulous week at Lobiglli Select. Thank you Belle for looking after us so well! Beautiful island, great food and cocktails! Thank you to all the bar, restaurant and housekeeping staff. Everyone was friendly and nothing was a problem! Shout out to the Chef who made us the best samosa’s, dosa and chicken tikka!

The island of love, it is a very nice island, the resort is a bit small but amazing. The food is very good here. However, if you are looking for an island with reef aereas to go snorkeling by yourself, this is not your island, from the beach you cannot see nothing. We booked a water village to go snorkeling from the room but the zone of the reef is not protectived by dikes so the waves are always very big, instead the weather is good or bad. The island looks a bit artificial, the gardens and the beach. The submarine restaurant is like a big aquarium, so the fishes and sharks are closed, it is not like I imagined but it is true that you can see a lot of sharks there. We couldn’t do the activities we have booked because of the weather but they don’t give you any alternative, for example, change de time to start it, and if it’s an activity that you have included, and you cannot do it because of the weather, you loose it. Maybe they could give you another option. However, the workers are all very nice people, specially Lisa our assitent was very friendly with us and she tried to help us and gave us all the information we needed. From the first time to the end in the island, she had a direct contact with us. Also, Sari gave us a very nice massage lesson, she was very kindly and my husband loved her massage, thank you very much! Read less

The food, drinks, amenities, and staff were all exceptional (shoutout to our host, Alpi, who was so sweet and helpful the entire trip and our favorite bartender, Sayan). We stayed in the Nest water villa with pool and the view was amazing. We knew going into the trip that we were coming here during rainy season and unfortunately did not get much luck when it came to the weather, so the pool did not get much use, although snorkeling from the balcony was fun!
