The hotel

As the Mauritian drinks cart rolls up to serve you cooling cocktails, while you sink your feet into the white sands of Belle Mare beach after a dip in its turquoise lagoon, you’ll know you’ve arrived in paradise. In fact, it’s so jaw-droppingly gorgeous here, they’ve now reserved Sunrise Attitude exclusively for grownups. As much as you could spend every waking moment on the beach, there’s plenty more fun in store – whether you want to linger at the seaside with snorkelling and scuba diving on offer, or you prefer swimming in one of the two swimming pools instead. However, it’s the authentic touches that really make this Adults Only retreat unforgettable, from the island-inspired treatments at Spa Poz to once-in-a-lifetime cultural Otentik experiences like dining with islanders in their homes, and learning to make Mauritian curries with their local chef.

Had a lovely experience at Sunrise Attitude, a quiet and warm hotel. I stayed for 5 days and also got my room upgraded to a swim up room as I was celebrating my birthday which was a lovely surprise. One thing I will say the manager, staff & service cannot be faulted everyone is so friendly and accommodating. I didn't manage to catch everyone's names unfortunately. The room was lovely and clean, very basic but as I spent the least amount of time in there it was fine. Also had 2 excellent massages done by Versha (not sure if I remembered her name correctly). I met plenty of people during my stay as a solo traveler and did like the social energy of the reps and staff to bring everyone together even though I didn't participate myself it was nice to see. My only notes for improvement would probably be the food, I ate what I could as I'm not fussy but I personally didn't find the quality of food up to my standard not sure if it was 4* quality in my opinion and I did wish I explored more locally for other food options, however the drinks/cocktails were nice. The beach area also could do with some regular maintenance as there was a lot of seaweed buildup on the sand and in the water, but if you walk along the beach a couple yards you'll find the quality to be much better which was a shame. Also I think maybe a welcome pack or an info sheet wouldn't of gone a miss to inform you what activities and timetables are included during your stay, as if you don't ask you'd never know. On my last day I was informed by staff of things I was entitled to during which would've been helpful to know at the beginning so I could've utilised them. Overall I did have a pleasant stay, but would probably stay elsewhere if I did visit Mauritius again. Read less
