We chose the Maldives for our honeymoon and stayed at Adaaran Hudhuranfushi — and it was absolute paradise. From the moment we hopped on the speedboat to the island, everything felt easy and exciting. When we arrived, the staff welcomed us so warmly and the holiday just kept getting better from there.
We stayed in an overwater villa and were lucky enough to have a butler included. We had the amazing Thushara, who was genuinely incredible. He could not have done more for us — always there when we needed him (and somehow appearing right as we thought we might!). He was so friendly, hardworking, kind and just a great guy overall. We loved meeting him, and he’s an absolute credit to the hotel.
The whole island is stunning — picture-postcard beaches, crystal clear water, and that once-in-a-lifetime feeling you hope for on a honeymoon. The overwater villa made the experience even more special, especially thanks to the wonderful cleaning staff, and particularly Amjad, who surprised us every day with elaborate towel and flower displays. It genuinely made our day, every day, and added so much magic to the trip.
Having an overwater villa meant we had access to the exclusive restaurant, which was fantastic. The food selection was great and the whole team there was brilliant. A huge thank you to Ahusam (“Andy”), Hamdha, Raaim, Pasindu, Chef Rukshan and Chef Asanka — they ensured we were completely looked after and made our meals feel special. We’re both vegan and they went above and beyond to accommodate us, even preparing a traditional Indian platter for our honeymoon beach dinner, which was amazing.
One unexpected highlight was the island’s art shop, run by the incredibly talented Prawa & Ruby. We painted our own Maldivian fridge magnets with them and it was such a fun and unique experience — plus the art class is free, definitely worth doing!
Our honeymoon was truly once in a lifetime and we just want to thank everyone who made it so special. We loved the hotel, loved the island, and genuinely hope we can return one day.
