Food was decent. Most staff were friendly. Mixed drinks at bar were terrible. Not sure what they use.for mixers. If you want a coffee maker in your room bring your own pods (not Kcups) We received a coffee maker when requested but were told we had to source our own pods. Beach is tiny due to storm erosion over the past few years. Maxwell Beach access is just a short walk north. Nice cats. Price was actually higher than last year at Turtle Beach and not near as good. Fun times but won't return there.

Really bad hotel!

This hotel is definitely not 3 stars! The hotel is very dated. Reception was clean. Went up to our room to find a damp, musty smelling room. Sheets & bedding seemed clean, but the valance sheet was stained & grubby. Old fashioned bedroom furniture with an under the counter fridge right next to the bed in an alcove. Unlit shelf above fridge contained kettle & a few drinking sachets. Only coffee sachets contained creamer & sugar. When we asked for just coffee, they said they would bring some up. We never saw those all week! The fridge had what looked like mould spots on its front (see pics). The bathroom had clean soft towels every day. But the shower head had limescale on it. Basin tap was dirty & crusty too. Toilet was in the most awkward place, directly in the corner, with toilet paper too far back to reach! If we were larger people, we wouldn't have been able to use the toilet!(Again, see pics!). Entertainment was on nightly until midnight & far too loud (our room was 5 floors up & looking over the pool). Even with the doors shut, we had to turn the tv up really loud so we could hear it! Could hear noise & feel vibrations when we went to bed. The eating area was horrible. Food was OK-ish. We planned on using the upstairs restaurant for a birthday meal for myself but had a look at the room & changed our minds! Some other guest told us we had to ask for ice cream. So we asked & got looked at like it was a chore! It took her 10 minutes to bring us a small dish of ice cream. Asked again the next evening & got the same response from another member of staff! Same waiting time again. On our last night there, we asked again for ice cream & got told they were quite busy & had to wait! We waited 15 minutes & gave up.
Although it's a lovely location, the sea was far too rough for me, so we travelled to another beach up the coast for a beach day. The sun beds around the pool were always taken early hours by towels & the beach sunbeds had no cushions on them so uncomfortable on your back.
Any information we needed was on a board in reception. Nothing at all in the rooms.
We haven't had a very nice experience at this hotel. I know it's supposed to be 3 stars but in my books it would be lucky to get 1!

Firstly, the food was delicious, absolutely no complaints. However, if you are looking for an absolutely luxurious experience this may not be best suited hotel. The staff was relatively helpful.
