This was our second visit to the Calabash and most certainly will not be our last. A true five star experience in all respects. Highly recommended

Almost everything about this hotel is superb, particularly the service. Clientele whilst we were there was mainly British with a few Canadians. Plenty of tree shade on the beach and the team there will move sun loungers. The pool is up by the spa, nearer to reception. It was very quiet when we were there. Food in the three restaurants was excellent on each occasion. The Japanese is quite small with a fairly limited menu but it was excellent, the tataki beef in particular. We had lunch at the Beach Club most days. Not very many snacks, even the salads and sandwiches were enormous, but can be shared, as can the pizzas, which were really good and very well priced. Breakfast is table service and all delicious, excellent eggs Benedict. We found that we had to wait quite a long time in Rhodes on both occasions we were there. Not a major issue but we expected a bit better. Could do with some more casual dining options in the evening. We had the most entry level suite, the West Side Suite, which was fine for us although the majority of the storage is in the bathroom, which makes it a bit of a challenge when getting ready to go out. The bedroom wasn’t that big but as we were only sleeping in it, it was fine and we got used to it very quickly, the bed was blissfully comfortable. Lovely verandah. The suite is exceptionally well stocked, superb hair dryer, hand held steamer for ironing clothes on the hanger etc. It also had a very lovely sitting room which we used a fair bit. The laundry situation is rather bizarre - fill a bag for $35. That’s all very well but if you only want to wash the clothes you travelled over in that is a very expensive way of doing it, we didn’t bother in the end. All fabulous though and booked to go back.
