The hotel

Meaning “Reef Above Water”, the Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives enjoys a unique location beside one of the longest stretches of reef in the archipelago. Featuring brand new beach bungalows, over-water bungalows set on stilts and platinum beach bungalows, you’re only a few steps into the waist-deep water and can enjoy fabulous views of the lagoon. Connected to the main resort via a walkway is a small private island with 20 platinum bungalows offering the ultimate in privacy. Ideal for couples or groups of friends with an outdoor pool, bar and lounge, and an exclusive restaurant for guests staying on the island.

Where is it

In Meemu Atoll, 145km south of Malé Island. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 45 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

10 Standard Bungalows, 70 Water Bungalows and 20 Platinum Beach Bungalows are built around two islands with direct access to the lagoon. All with sun deck, air-conditioning, lounge area with glass-bottomed floor (in water Bungalows), TV, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board (on request), and bathrobes. Beach Bungalows are in a secluded inland location on the main island in close proximity to the main pool & bar with 1 double bed, plus an extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

All-Inclusive: Includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner plus selection of local snacks served between 10:30am-11:30am, 4:00pm-5:30pm & 10:30am-11:30pm (on request). Alcoholic & Non Alcoholic beverages house brand: Unlimited access to a choice of Regular Brands, Spirits and Wine served by the glass. Unlimited access to delicious Cocktails and Mocktails, to be selected from a menu. Selection of Draught Beer. Selection of Carbonated Soft Drinks, Canned Fruit Juices, Tropical Fresh Juices, Mineral Water and a selection of Tea and Coffee. Complimentary Snorkelling Equipment for your entire stay. Convenient Complimentary Snorkelling Shuttle Service (Morning 10 am - 11 am / Afternoon 3 pm - 4 pm). Full access to gymnasium, table tennis, billiard / snooker, beach volleyball and foosball (equipment included). Mini Bar (Soft Drinks, Mineral Water, Canned Beer) refilled once a day.

Water Bungalows offer a direct view of either sunrise or sunset with a glass-bottom floor, private sun deck and staircase leading down to the lagoon with 1 double bed, plus an extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Platinum Beach Bungalows are located on a small private island with a private outdoor swimming pool, bar and lounge and restaurant. The island is connected to the main resort via a walkway and is for adults 18 years above only.

Pool bar (located on the main island serving International cocktails and mocktails with live music; open 7:00am until the last guests leaves). On Adults-Only Island: Manzaru Restaurant. This is the most beautiful location we have ever been to. Top that off with the greatest service we have ever experienced and amazing food and it is starting to describe the holiday experience we had. The location is stunning, atmoshpere is relaxed and even when the island is at capacity, it doesn’t feel busy. The rooms were amazing and very comfortable and if you need anything, the staff respond quickly to take care of any issues you may have. We stayed in a beach bungalow and water villa as part of out stay. The resort it quiet but if you go to bed early, we recommend a water bungalow as the wind does carry noise from the bar quite far. Staff of note: Layaan and Irufaadh we excellent, always smiling and helpful, a pleasure to be around. Fulhu was our main waiter and he was THE best waiter I have ever had. He knew what we wanted before we even knew and delivered it promptly. He went above and beyond for us and made our stay feel so special. Food: Chatarunga, Thara, Chintaka were incredible, really taking care of us when it came to food. My wife had special dietary requests and Chatarunga never failed to deliver. They were friendly and always so welcoming at every meal time. The food was high quality and varied. We stayed 11 days and never tired of the options. Our room staff also did a great job keeping it clean and the laundry service we highly recommend and is great value. Najla was lovely and very helpful, taking us on a nice relaxed tour of the Adult only side so that we could consider it for our next booking. We went out on the free snorkling boat trips and saw amazing corals and fish, in addition to swimming with wrays right off the beach. The views from everywhere on the island are breath taking, the weather was great and a couple of days it rained, but it didn’t last long. I also know people who went out of season and they only had a few short rainy spells too, so if your budget doesn’t reach to peak season, you should consider other times of year too. I would absolutely recommend Cinnamon Hakura Huraa to everyone. Read less

Nice to see Fairooz from last year. This time we had a room on the Sunset side of the water villas, which was nice but if cost was an issue, stick with the sunrise villas. Our room Was kept spotless by Maroof. We were a little apprehensive about booking in the rainy season, but fear not the weather was fantastic every day and considerably better than March 2025, where we had rain 4 of our 12 days. We managed to get onto the Sunset Cocktail Cruise, which represented great value at $60 for us both, the crew kept us entertained and we were lucky to have Nurse sharks follow our boat. Try not to drink too many ‘God Fathers’ If you are looking for a chilled holiday, with low key entertainment, great food and staff, this is the place to visit. Chuck in twice daily free snorkel trips and lovely marine life you can’t go wrong. Highly recommended. Read less
