The hotel

Meaning “Reef Above Water”, the Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives enjoys a unique location beside one of the longest stretches of reef in the archipelago. Featuring brand new beach bungalows, over-water bungalows set on stilts and platinum beach bungalows, you’re only a few steps into the waist-deep water and can enjoy fabulous views of the lagoon. Connected to the main resort via a walkway is a small private island with 20 platinum bungalows offering the ultimate in privacy. Ideal for couples or groups of friends with an outdoor pool, bar and lounge, and an exclusive restaurant for guests staying on the island.

Where is it

In Meemu Atoll, 145km south of Malé Island. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 45 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

10 Standard Bungalows, 70 Water Bungalows and 20 Platinum Beach Bungalows are built around two islands with direct access to the lagoon. All with sun deck, air-conditioning, lounge area with glass-bottomed floor (in water Bungalows), TV, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board (on request), and bathrobes. Beach Bungalows are in a secluded inland location on the main island in close proximity to the main pool & bar with 1 double bed, plus an extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

For stays completed up until 31st October 2026:

All-Inclusive: Includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner plus selection of local snacks served between 10:30am-11:30am, 4:00pm-5:30pm & 10:30am-11:30pm (on request). Alcoholic & Non Alcoholic beverages house brand: Unlimited access to a choice of Regular Brands, Spirits and Wine served by the glass. Unlimited access to delicious Cocktails and Mocktails, to be selected from a menu. Selection of Draught Beer. Selection of Carbonated Soft Drinks, Canned Fruit Juices, Tropical Fresh Juices, Mineral Water and a selection of Tea and Coffee. Complimentary Snorkelling Equipment for your entire stay. Convenient Complimentary Snorkelling Shuttle Service (Morning 10 am - 11 am / Afternoon 3 pm - 4 pm). Full access to gymnasium, table tennis, billiard / snooker, beach volleyball and foosball (equipment included). Mini Bar (Soft Drinks, Mineral Water, Canned Beer) refilled once a day. 


For stays completed from 1st November 2026:

All-Inclusive: Includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner plus selection of local snacks served between 4:00pm-5:30pm at Veli Pool bar and Lounge. Alcoholic & Non Alcoholic beverages house brand: Unlimited access to a choice of Regular Brands, Spirits and Wine served by the glass. Unlimited access to delicious Cocktails and Mocktails, to be selected from a menu. Selection of Draught Beer. Selection of Carbonated Soft Drinks, Canned Fruit Juices, Mineral Water and a selection of Tea and Coffee. Complimentary Snorkelling Equipment for your entire stay. Convenient Complimentary choice of one excursion per stay. Full access to gymnasium, table tennis, billiard / snooker, beach volleyball and foosball (equipment included). Mini Bar (Soft Drinks, Mineral Water, Canned Beer) refilled once a day. A la carte dinner at Coral Restaurant (prior reservation required).

Water Bungalows offer a direct view of either sunrise or sunset with a glass-bottom floor, private sun deck and staircase leading down to the lagoon with 1 double bed, plus an extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Platinum Beach Bungalows are located on a small private island with a private outdoor swimming pool, bar and lounge and restaurant. The island is connected to the main resort via a walkway and is for adults 18 years above only.

Pool bar (located on the main island serving International cocktails and mocktails with live music; open 7:00am until the last guests leaves). On Adults-Only Island: Manzaru Restaurant. Had a fantastic stay at this resort this was our third visit and it just keeps delivering an extremely high level of service and hospitality. We have travelled to many resorts all over the world, but none compare with the friendliness & efficiency of the staff at Hakuraa Huraa. My husband had a milestone birthday the day after we arrived, we were driven by speedboat to a sandbank opposite the resort, & were greeted with a beautiful table of canapés & served the most delicious cocktails made by Shakti who did a brilliant job of making my husbands birthday unforgettable. At sunset we were led to an illuminated Beach Loggia & served a five star dinner, by our own private chef, who served one of the courses in a large dome made from ice - spectacular. The sand was engraved with Birthday messages & the staff provided birthday music & birthday cake it was magical. The restaurant is excellent with a vast choice of food, and Chefs providing various options cooked in front of you, SousChef Chathuranga advised me that he would personally cook a curry for me if desired, his Sri Lankan curry last year was the best we have ever tasted, he even printed out the recipe & insructions for me to take home- really lovely man. Our waiter Shifaaz was top class, & extremely attentive, we had a great dining experience whilst he was looking after us. Rumesh & Raufa were also very good & kept ensuring that we had everything we needed, & maintained a high standard of service. On this visit my daughter & her boyfriend joined us, & they absolutely loved everything about it. We had a wonderful time at the Spa, having a facial & massage whilst the men went on a fishing trip. The fish that they caught were served to us for dinner that evening, it was delicious. We had a surprise engagement and celebrated my birthday on this visit. Both were made really special by the one and only Sandun, he went to great lengths to ensure we had a memorable time. The service & professionalism from him was second to none, he arranged a private birthday dinner on a candlelight hill top, which was full of surprises!! The management staff always took time to chat, & checked that our stay was as expected, which it was. We were chatting to other guests who had stayed on other islands in the Maldives, & they advised us that they were not as good as this one, this is why this is our third visit, we don’t want to chance another island as this one provides everything we desire and more. Just arrived home from what really was the trip of a lifetime! It was my first time visiting the Maldives and this resort did not disappoint in any way. Such a beautiful island with the most helpful and friendly staff. The Hotel Bungalows were amazing. We stayed in rooms 348 and 349. The housekeeping staff came and tidied every day, providing clean towels and replenishing the mini bar. A particular member of the cleaning staff who’s name I can’t remember even did lovely bed decorations for us on occasion. The food in the main all inclusive restaurant was fantastic and want to give a special mention to Shifaz, the delightful young waiter who looked after us for the time we were there. Also Romesh who looked after us also and greeted us with such warmth and kindness every single meal time. On our second night, possibly the best night of the holiday, we booked a private meal on The Sand Bank… a small island across from the Resort where we were taken across by boat to where another fantastic waiter by the name of Shakti, provided us with pre meal cocktails and very friendly conversation… as we watched the sunset. We then had an amazing 5 course meal cooked by a great young chef whose name I unfortunately can’t remember. Shakti also worked at the pool bar where he was always very kind and helpful and offering friendly conversation. Likewise for the tall young man who also worked behind the bar (who’s name I again unfortunately can’t remember). Last but not least I’d like to give a special mention to Sandun, who ran the Coral restaurant. A funny, energetic and very kind member of staff who always went above and beyond. I proposed to my now fiancé on the 6th night just before sunset where Sandun provided sparkling Rose and took lots of pictures of us and made the moment very special. The word of our engagement travelled fast around the island and that evening and the following day we were met with kind words and well wishes from the staff. I can certainly say that the Sri Lankan and Maldivian people are some of the kindest, friendly and helpful people I’ve ever met and hope I get the chance to visit this Resort again in the future. 5 star review all round.
