The hotel

Meaning “Reef Above Water”, the Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives enjoys a unique location beside one of the longest stretches of reef in the archipelago. Featuring brand new beach bungalows, over-water bungalows set on stilts and platinum beach bungalows, you’re only a few steps into the waist-deep water and can enjoy fabulous views of the lagoon. Connected to the main resort via a walkway is a small private island with 20 platinum bungalows offering the ultimate in privacy. Ideal for couples or groups of friends with an outdoor pool, bar and lounge, and an exclusive restaurant for guests staying on the island.

Where is it

In Meemu Atoll, 145km south of Malé Island. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 45 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

Hotel information

10 Standard Bungalows, 70 Water Bungalows and 20 Platinum Beach Bungalows are built around two islands with direct access to the lagoon. All with sun deck, air-conditioning, lounge area with glass-bottomed floor (in water Bungalows), TV, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board (on request), and bathrobes. Beach Bungalows are in a secluded inland location on the main island in close proximity to the main pool & bar with 1 double bed, plus an extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Board basis options

Standard All-Inclusive includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner plus selection of local snacks served between 10:30am-11:30am, 4:00pm-5:30pm & 10:30am-11:30pm (on request). Unlimited regular house brands from a a selection of spirits and wines (served by the glass only). Unlimited cocktails and mocktails from a select menu. Selection of draught beer. Selection of Carbonated Soft Drinks, Canned Fruit Juices, Tropical Fresh Juices, Mineral Water and a selection of Tea and Coffee. Mini-bar (soft drinks, mineral water, canned beer) refilled once a day.

Virgin All-Inclusive: includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus snacks at selected times. One seafood grill or steak dinner at the table once per stay. Beach barbecues, lobster and special seafood dinners, and à la carte orders are at a supplement. A platter of chocolates in room on second day and mini-bar including soft drinks and beer (refilled once daily). Selected domestic and premium branded drinks, including spirits, wines and cocktails, plus soft drinks such as bottled water, fresh juices, Sprite, Fanta, Cola (diet drinks at a charge), milk shakes, tea and coffee. Available 9:00am–midnight. Children's menu includes pasta, soup, nuggets, fish and chips, as well as drinks such as milkshakes, juices and squash. Snorkelling equipment, use of fitness centre, badminton court, table tennis and beach volleyball. One dolphin watching excursion per stay. Virgin All-Inclusive will begin at midday on day of arrival and end at midday on day of departure.

Premium All-Inclusive package: includes all of the inclusions of the standard package plus a welcome bottle of sparkling wine on arrival, in-room mini-bar stocked with beer, soft drinks and selection of snacks replenished daily, premium international brand spirits wines and cocktails, unlimited fresh juice and milk shakes. 2 complimentary excursions from selected list per person per stay (weather permitting). Invitation to 2 special themed party events organised by the resort, one special dinner on the beach with the option of a mixed seafood grill or steak. Signature 60-minute spa treatment once every 5-night stay and turndown service every night.

Water Bungalows offer a direct view of either sunrise or sunset with a glass-bottom floor, private sun deck and staircase leading down to the lagoon with 1 double bed, plus an extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Platinum Beach Bungalows are located on a small private island with a private outdoor swimming pool, bar and lounge and restaurant. The island is connected to the main resort via a walkway and is for adults 18 years above only.

On Main Island: Malaafaiy Restaurant (on the main island serving continental/buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with different nightly themes and live cooking stations; open 7:00am-9:30am, 12:30pm-2:30pm and 7:30pm-9:30pm). The Crab Restaurant (on the main island serving specialty seafood). Veli Bar & Lounge. Pool bar (located on the main island serving International cocktails and mocktails with live music; open 7:00am until the last guests leaves). On Adults-Only Island: Manzaru Restaurant. Vevu Bar & Lounge.

Totally worth it. If you want a more lively atmosphere, you can stroll over the bridge to the main island any time. This is paradise on earth: sparkling white sands and crystal clear, shallow waters. Exquisite! Every single team member works extremely hard to ensure your stay is memorable, and every guest we spoke to is definitely planning to return. We will be making this resort our regular holiday, for sure. We can't remember every staff member's name, but the ones who stood out for us are: Ricardo, the Hospitality Manager; Siti and the other lovely reception staff; Idja (sorry for wrong spelling; she took us on an amazing Island Hopping tour and she's full of knowledge & funny stories!); the housekeeping staff; the ladies who rake the beach every day and keep it clean; the fab guy who transported our luggage; LAYAN, who met us at the airport and ensured a smooth transfer; the outstanding chefs in the Platinum island restaurant who create masterpieces and world cuisines daily: Kelum, Charuna and Mahil; the attentive servers in the same restaurant who go out of their way to ensure we are well taken care of: Riyaz, Maishan, Keerthi and Hana; and the bar staff who make delicious cocktails with a smile: Akalanka and Nandana. We only visited the other restaurants and bar a couple times; but every staff member was amazing. Service with a genuine smile. We feel very blessed to be here and very much look forward to returning. Special mention must also go to the incredible Dive Centre guys and the guys who took us out on the daily snorkeling trips and other boat ouutings. We thoroughly enjoyed the Cocktail Cruise -- especially the unexpected surprise of a large school of dolphins; they put on an amazing show of pirouettes and spinning jumps, etc. Fabulous! We are going to the spa today, as we have heard from other guests how professional and wonderful the massages are. All in all, the best holiday one could hope for or dream about. Thank you to all! I loved everything except dealing with the reception desk staff. They didn't communicate the seaplane schedule before my arrival, nor did they inform me that a speedboat wasn't available, even though the hotel listing stated otherwise. They wasted a whole day of my time on arrival when this could have been so much better organized. It was very distasteful to have the seaplane bill presented to me upon arrival. The welcome music quickly faded to a business-as-usual, money-first attitude. Also they messed up my final bill and demanded payment the night before departure even though my room was quite a hike from the reception, requiring me to walk alone at night through heavy vegetation. No ecart was provided for transportation, which was ok if you weren't in a hurry or weren't afraid to walk alone at night. The other major issue was having other guests smoking right by the restaurant and at the bar. It was very inconsiderate to non-smokers who had to move away so smokers could smoke undisturbed while everyone else was an afterthought. I was left at the Male airport for over 3 hours without any food that I could eat due to my dietary restrictions, while three options were available for others. When I asked for juice instead I was told I had to pay for it even though the seaplane ticket cost nearly $600 USD. The representative didn't respond to my requests for help until 3 hours later and only after I made multiple phone calls someone came to talk to me in person. No action was taken to resolve my concerns. Aside from that, I loved almost everything else. The water villa was great. The marine life was impeccable. The food was great. I would love to return. Room 401 saw the sunset and the restaurant and pool bar was a 3 minute stroll. All staff were polite, friendly, professional and respectful. The Chef’s cooked for you (Charuha & Kalum) if you had a preference and nothing was too much trouble. ALL the waiters (especially Maishaan who was our waiter throughout) and waitress were quick at getting your drinks and clearing the tables, friendly and attentive. The bar staff were fabulous, making sure we always had a drink. Thank you Akalanka and colleagues. 👌🏼 Our Bungalow was cleaned daily by a lovely polite man, done a fabulous job and completed some art work on the bed for our anniversary ( 25/5/26). They do a daily snorkel trip for an hour at 10am & 3pm. This is great and enough time. We did see a turtle on the way back to the peer and also crossing the bridge we saw a Stingray, reef shark and some small and bigger fish.
