The hotel

Meaning “Reef Above Water”, the Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives enjoys a unique location beside one of the longest stretches of reef in the archipelago. Featuring brand new beach bungalows, over-water bungalows set on stilts and platinum beach bungalows, you’re only a few steps into the waist-deep water and can enjoy fabulous views of the lagoon. Connected to the main resort via a walkway is a small private island with 20 platinum bungalows offering the ultimate in privacy. Ideal for couples or groups of friends with an outdoor pool, bar and lounge, and an exclusive restaurant for guests staying on the island.

Where is it

In Meemu Atoll, 145km south of Malé Island. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 45 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

Hotel information

10 Standard Bungalows, 70 Water Bungalows and 20 Platinum Beach Bungalows are built around two islands with direct access to the lagoon. All with sun deck, air-conditioning, lounge area with glass-bottomed floor (in water Bungalows), TV, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board (on request), and bathrobes. Beach Bungalows are in a secluded inland location on the main island in close proximity to the main pool & bar with 1 double bed, plus an extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

For stays completed up until 31st October 2026:

All-Inclusive: Includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner plus selection of local snacks served between 10:30am-11:30am, 4:00pm-5:30pm & 10:30am-11:30pm (on request). Alcoholic & Non Alcoholic beverages house brand: Unlimited access to a choice of Regular Brands, Spirits and Wine served by the glass. Unlimited access to delicious Cocktails and Mocktails, to be selected from a menu. Selection of Draught Beer. Selection of Carbonated Soft Drinks, Canned Fruit Juices, Tropical Fresh Juices, Mineral Water and a selection of Tea and Coffee. Complimentary Snorkelling Equipment for your entire stay. Convenient Complimentary Snorkelling Shuttle Service (Morning 10 am - 11 am / Afternoon 3 pm - 4 pm). Full access to gymnasium, table tennis, billiard / snooker, beach volleyball and foosball (equipment included). Mini Bar (Soft Drinks, Mineral Water, Canned Beer) refilled once a day. 


For stays completed from 1st November 2026:

All-Inclusive: Includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner plus selection of local snacks served between 4:00pm-5:30pm at Veli Pool bar and Lounge. Alcoholic & Non Alcoholic beverages house brand: Unlimited access to a choice of Regular Brands, Spirits and Wine served by the glass. Unlimited access to delicious Cocktails and Mocktails, to be selected from a menu. Selection of Draught Beer. Selection of Carbonated Soft Drinks, Canned Fruit Juices, Mineral Water and a selection of Tea and Coffee. Complimentary Snorkelling Equipment for your entire stay. Convenient Complimentary choice of one excursion per stay. Full access to gymnasium, table tennis, billiard / snooker, beach volleyball and foosball (equipment included). Mini Bar (Soft Drinks, Mineral Water, Canned Beer) refilled once a day. A la carte dinner at Coral Restaurant (prior reservation required).

Water Bungalows offer a direct view of either sunrise or sunset with a glass-bottom floor, private sun deck and staircase leading down to the lagoon with 1 double bed, plus an extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Platinum Beach Bungalows are located on a small private island with a private outdoor swimming pool, bar and lounge and restaurant. The island is connected to the main resort via a walkway and is for adults 18 years above only.

On Main Island: Malaafaiy Restaurant (on the main island serving continental/buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with different nightly themes and live cooking stations; open 7:00am-9:30am, 12:30pm-2:30pm and 7:30pm-9:30pm). The Crab Restaurant (on the main island serving specialty seafood). Veli Bar & Lounge. Pool bar (located on the main island serving International cocktails and mocktails with live music; open 7:00am until the last guests leaves). On Adults-Only Island: Manzaru Restaurant. Vevu Bar & Lounge. 

Entertainment including live music, cultural show, and disco night. Cinema on the beach. 

Swimming pool. Mandara Spa* (open 10:00am-8:00pm). Mini-gym. PADI dive centre*. Non-motorised water sports including windsurfing*, catamaran sailing*, diving*, snorkelling* and canoeing*. We stayed in an overwater villa which was lovely and large, with a glass floor for you to see the fish and also the decking area outside was lovely to sit out on. I celebrated my birthday whilst I was here and we had the sandbank dinner which was arranged by Sandun, he arranged everything with my husband so it was a lovely birthday surprise and well what an experience. You get a small speedboat to take you over to the sandbank where you can sit with drinks/cocktails and watch the sun set, then you move along to an archway which has your table underneath. The meal was gorgeous along with the drinks and I was given a chocolate birthday cake to celebrate any birthday, then of course it was the speedboat ride back to the island in the dark, absolutely fantastic ride in the pitch black, certainly an experience and one that we would never do back home. All in all a wonderful holiday and we will soon be back. Read less

My wife and I visited Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa for two weeks in June 2026 to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We normally always go self-catering as my wife is both vegetarian and coeliac. We had a wonderful time. Firstly, the team really looked to accommodate my wife's allergy. There was plenty of choice for her in the buffet. The dishes were marked for the different allergy ingredients and were well presented with individual dish serving tongs to help stop cross contamination. We also ate each meal as soon as the restaurant opened to help avoid potential cross contamination later on during mealtimes. Gluten free pasta and sauces were available and also made to order as well and there were GF deserts and even bar snacks! We would like to thank Chef Chathuranga and Nicantha who were very responsive and proactive to our food needs. The team even arranged for GF beers on the next supply delivery so my wife could enjoy a cold beer by the pool or with dinner. Fantastic! This extended to the special beachfront meal which we had to celebrate our special day which was truly memorable. Our waiter team of Dhaain, Faiyooz and Shifaz were also amazing, looking after us at all meals and providing first class service, under the very capable and watchful eye of charming Maitre De, Rumesh. The bar team also deserve mention with Shakthi and Kasun always ready with that cold beer or cocktail - wonderful! The Mandara spa was also brilliant, good value with multi hour deals. We have to mention Putri, Opina, Purnia and Meisya (wonderful elbows!) who provided us with the most amazing experience. Thank you! Finally, we would like to thank Naseer who looked after our overwater bungalow daily. Always there to help, teaching us some local phrases (Baraabaru!) and explaining and pointing out the amazing sea life living under the bungalow - Shukuriyaa! The island and facilities were wonderful: well maintained buildings, paths and lit walkways, fantastic restaurants, amazing spa, and beaches to die for! The sea was a beautiful turquoise blue, packed with turtles, black-tip reef sharks (baby mainly!), eagle rays, stingrays and a whole myriad of other wonderfully coloured fish in the beautiful corals. Everything you would expect from the perfect tropical desert island - with 5 star hotel service to boot! We will be going back! Read less
