The hotel

Meaning “Reef Above Water”, the Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives enjoys a unique location beside one of the longest stretches of reef in the archipelago. Featuring brand new beach bungalows, over-water bungalows set on stilts and platinum beach bungalows, you’re only a few steps into the waist-deep water and can enjoy fabulous views of the lagoon. Connected to the main resort via a walkway is a small private island with 20 platinum bungalows offering the ultimate in privacy. Ideal for couples or groups of friends with an outdoor pool, bar and lounge, and an exclusive restaurant for guests staying on the island.

Where is it

In Meemu Atoll, 145km south of Malé Island. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 45 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

Hotel information

10 Standard Bungalows, 70 Water Bungalows and 20 Platinum Beach Bungalows are built around two islands with direct access to the lagoon. All with sun deck, air-conditioning, lounge area with glass-bottomed floor (in water Bungalows), TV, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board (on request), and bathrobes. Beach Bungalows are in a secluded inland location on the main island in close proximity to the main pool & bar with 1 double bed, plus an extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Board basis options

Standard All-Inclusive includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner plus selection of local snacks served between 10:30am-11:30am, 4:00pm-5:30pm & 10:30am-11:30pm (on request). Unlimited regular house brands from a a selection of spirits and wines (served by the glass only). Unlimited cocktails and mocktails from a select menu. Selection of draught beer. Selection of Carbonated Soft Drinks, Canned Fruit Juices, Tropical Fresh Juices, Mineral Water and a selection of Tea and Coffee. Mini-bar (soft drinks, mineral water, canned beer) refilled once a day.

Virgin All-Inclusive: includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus snacks at selected times. One seafood grill or steak dinner at the table once per stay. Beach barbecues, lobster and special seafood dinners, and à la carte orders are at a supplement. A platter of chocolates in room on second day and mini-bar including soft drinks and beer (refilled once daily). Selected domestic and premium branded drinks, including spirits, wines and cocktails, plus soft drinks such as bottled water, fresh juices, Sprite, Fanta, Cola (diet drinks at a charge), milk shakes, tea and coffee. Available 9:00am–midnight. Children's menu includes pasta, soup, nuggets, fish and chips, as well as drinks such as milkshakes, juices and squash. Snorkelling equipment, use of fitness centre, badminton court, table tennis and beach volleyball. One dolphin watching excursion per stay. Virgin All-Inclusive will begin at midday on day of arrival and end at midday on day of departure.

Premium All-Inclusive package: includes all of the inclusions of the standard package plus a welcome bottle of sparkling wine on arrival, in-room mini-bar stocked with beer, soft drinks and selection of snacks replenished daily, premium international brand spirits wines and cocktails, unlimited fresh juice and milk shakes. 2 complimentary excursions from selected list per person per stay (weather permitting). Invitation to 2 special themed party events organised by the resort, one special dinner on the beach with the option of a mixed seafood grill or steak. Signature 60-minute spa treatment once every 5-night stay and turndown service every night.

Water Bungalows offer a direct view of either sunrise or sunset with a glass-bottom floor, private sun deck and staircase leading down to the lagoon with 1 double bed, plus an extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Platinum Beach Bungalows are located on a small private island with a private outdoor swimming pool, bar and lounge and restaurant. The island is connected to the main resort via a walkway and is for adults 18 years above only.

On Main Island: Malaafaiy Restaurant (on the main island serving continental/buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with different nightly themes and live cooking stations; open 7:00am-9:30am, 12:30pm-2:30pm and 7:30pm-9:30pm). The Crab Restaurant (on the main island serving specialty seafood). Veli Bar & Lounge. Pool bar (located on the main island serving International cocktails and mocktails with live music; open 7:00am until the last guests leaves). On Adults-Only Island: Manzaru Restaurant. Vevu Bar & Lounge. 

Entertainment including live music, cultural show, and disco night. Cinema on the beach. 

Swimming pool. Mandara Spa* (open 10:00am-8:00pm). Mini-gym. PADI dive centre*. Non-motorised water sports including windsurfing*, catamaran sailing*, diving*, snorkelling* and canoeing*. We had an amazing stay at Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The buffet was a highlight — great variety with different themes every day, so meals never felt repetitive. The all-inclusive package was excellent value, especially with drinks and snacks well covered throughout the day. We really appreciated the resort’s eco-friendly approach. Reusable water bottles are provided, refill stations are easy to find, and we still received up to four bottles of water per day, which was more than enough. The bottle also makes a nice souvenir to take home. The water and beach are incredibly clean, and the marine life is everywhere. We saw sharks, stingrays, turtles, and puffer fish right around the resort — truly magical. The snorkeling and shark tour team were dedicated, professional, and made us feel safe and well informed. All staff were friendly, supportive, and always smiling, which made the stay even better. Special thanks to: • Ms. Harshani at the crepe station for her cheerful service • Ms. Thara at the pasta station for great food and professionalism • Mr. Rumesh and the restaurant team the dancing star at the Gala Dinner and for his daily dining support — he brought so much fun and energy We loved that the resort is adults-only (no kids), making it peaceful and perfect for couples or anyone wanting to truly relax. The New Year Gala Dinner at Hili was fantastic — a big seafood buffet with oysters, caviar, lobster, sushi, freshly cut ham, cheeses, and ice cream. The countdown had good DJ music, lucky draw, and a best couple award. We also liked that there were no fireworks, which is better for the environment and animals. Daily activities like movie nights, traditional dance, and acoustic music added a nice touch, and the Hili New Year setup with love birds was beautiful. Everything we needed was well provided, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Overall, Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa offers excellent value, beautiful nature, and warm service. My stay at Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives was nothing short of incredible. From the moment I arrived, everything felt thoughtfully curated to create a relaxing, luxurious, and truly carefree experience. The buffet meals were delicious, with an impressive variety offered at every single meal. The All-In package made the experience even better. It was incredibly freeing not to think about costs at all, allowing me to fully relax and enjoy everything the resort offered without hesitation. A lovely and very thoughtful touch was the reusable water bottle I received as a gift, to use during my stay and to take home as a souvenir. The resort provides free water bottles in the room and refill stations in common areas, which I really appreciated both for convenience and sustainability. The staff truly makes this resort special. Everyone is dedicated, genuinely kind, and speaks excellent English. I always felt welcome and cared for. The tours were amazing. The resort offers two free snorkeling trips per day, plus paid excursions such as snorkeling with mantas and sharks. During every tour, the staff goes above and beyond to make everyone to feel safe, comfortable, and confident in the water. I stayed over New Year’s, and the attention to detail was heartwarming. When I returned to my room that evening, the bed was beautifully decorated with a Happy New Year message. Such a thoughtful surprise. The New Year’s Eve gala dinner was absolutely incredible: a seafood buffet, oysters, caviar, lobster, sushi, freshly cut ham, an ice cream station, and a cheese buffet, and more, made that there was truly something for everyone. After dinner, there was a lively countdown with great DJ music. I appreciated that there were no fireworks, respecting both the environment and the animals. They also organized a lucky draw, with proceeds supporting the local islands, which made the celebration even more meaningful. The resort is spectacularly clean! From the beach to the water to every shared space. Everything felt pristine and well cared for. One of the biggest highlights for me was that this is an adults-only resort. Without children, I could fully enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, the sound of the waves, and complete tranquility. Nature is everywhere here. I saw sharks, stingrays, turtles, pufferfish, and mantas, and the most beautiful, vibrant fish colors made even more stunning by the crystal-clear water. In the evenings, I could even watch sharks swimming beneath my water villa through the floor window, an unforgettable experience. The evening entertainment was varied and enjoyable, including movie nights, traditional dance performances, and live band music. Finally, I want to highlight two staff members who made my stay extra special: Harshani, who made my mornings brighter with her sweet breakfast stand and friendly greetings. And Rumesh, who always made sure I was well looked after. Plus, his dance moves on New Year’s Eve definitely deserve a special mention ;) Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives is a place where you can truly switch off, feel cared for, and experience the beauty of the Maldives at its best. I have no further suggestions to give you because all of you did a very good job. Take into consideration that Maldives are really beautiful and you have to protect them as a treasure, for the customers and for yourselves !!!

We really enjoyed the resort especially the corals area outside our accomodations. We were able to see many fishes, sharks, stingrays and turtles as well. We like the spa (Mandara Spa) especially Tera and Purnia who made us feel so comfortable.

A wonderful location with tremendous service! The beach villa, nr.401, was simply perfect, Menaka made us delicious cocktails and mocktails, and was always very polite and nice to chat with. His colleague Nandana was equally good to us at the bar and made us always feel welcome. The kitchen provided a huge variety of dishes every day, spoiling us with all the delicious food and service. Great big thanks to the chefs Charuna, Kelum and Aujali, who really did their utmost to grill and cook fresh seafood and meat to perfection, besides the numerous dishes from a variety of different countries. This culminated with the dishes prepared for the Christmas Eve dinner which was simply spectacular! Special mention must go to Riyaaz, Keerithee, Hannan and Affan. Service with a smile ! Riyaaz made special effort to remember our preferences for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and made our visits to the restaurant very special indeed. The diving was superb, and additional bonus was that our son had his first diving experience guided by Ahmed, our dive master. Ahmed was really very good at making everybody safe and relaxed, and showed us some wonderful marine species and sights. Particular bonus was diving alongside many turtles, which Ahmed was also good at recording with his underwater camera. He is pretty good at playing billiard too! There are many more of the staff that deserve to be mentioned, the cleaning and laundry was impeccable, and our beach front was always ‘groomed’.
