The hotel

Meaning “Reef Above Water”, the Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives enjoys a unique location beside one of the longest stretches of reef in the archipelago. Featuring brand new beach bungalows, over-water bungalows set on stilts and platinum beach bungalows, you’re only a few steps into the waist-deep water and can enjoy fabulous views of the lagoon. Connected to the main resort via a walkway is a small private island with 20 platinum bungalows offering the ultimate in privacy. Ideal for couples or groups of friends with an outdoor pool, bar and lounge, and an exclusive restaurant for guests staying on the island.

Where is it

In Meemu Atoll, 145km south of Malé Island. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 45 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

Hotel information

10 Standard Bungalows, 70 Water Bungalows and 20 Platinum Beach Bungalows are built around two islands with direct access to the lagoon. All with sun deck, air-conditioning, lounge area with glass-bottomed floor (in water Bungalows), TV, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board (on request), and bathrobes. Beach Bungalows are in a secluded inland location on the main island in close proximity to the main pool & bar with 1 double bed, plus an extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

For stays completed up until 31st October 2026:

All-Inclusive: Includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner plus selection of local snacks served between 10:30am-11:30am, 4:00pm-5:30pm & 10:30am-11:30pm (on request). Alcoholic & Non Alcoholic beverages house brand: Unlimited access to a choice of Regular Brands, Spirits and Wine served by the glass. Unlimited access to delicious Cocktails and Mocktails, to be selected from a menu. Selection of Draught Beer. Selection of Carbonated Soft Drinks, Canned Fruit Juices, Tropical Fresh Juices, Mineral Water and a selection of Tea and Coffee. Complimentary Snorkelling Equipment for your entire stay. Convenient Complimentary Snorkelling Shuttle Service (Morning 10 am - 11 am / Afternoon 3 pm - 4 pm). Full access to gymnasium, table tennis, billiard / snooker, beach volleyball and foosball (equipment included). Mini Bar (Soft Drinks, Mineral Water, Canned Beer) refilled once a day. 


For stays completed from 1st November 2026:

All-Inclusive: Includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner plus selection of local snacks served between 4:00pm-5:30pm at Veli Pool bar and Lounge. Alcoholic & Non Alcoholic beverages house brand: Unlimited access to a choice of Regular Brands, Spirits and Wine served by the glass. Unlimited access to delicious Cocktails and Mocktails, to be selected from a menu. Selection of Draught Beer. Selection of Carbonated Soft Drinks, Canned Fruit Juices, Mineral Water and a selection of Tea and Coffee. Complimentary Snorkelling Equipment for your entire stay. Convenient Complimentary choice of one excursion per stay. Full access to gymnasium, table tennis, billiard / snooker, beach volleyball and foosball (equipment included). Mini Bar (Soft Drinks, Mineral Water, Canned Beer) refilled once a day. A la carte dinner at Coral Restaurant (prior reservation required).

Water Bungalows offer a direct view of either sunrise or sunset with a glass-bottom floor, private sun deck and staircase leading down to the lagoon with 1 double bed, plus an extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Platinum Beach Bungalows are located on a small private island with a private outdoor swimming pool, bar and lounge and restaurant. The island is connected to the main resort via a walkway and is for adults 18 years above only.

Our waiter is Shifau, he was just perfect at his job, he remembered my drink orders and as soon as he saw me in the morning he has my coffee ready there for me( he knows I don’t function well until I’ve had my first coffee lol) I could not ask for a better waiter. He’s so kind so friendly nothing was ever any trouble for him. He also had such a great sense of humour. He made our meal times so much more enjoyable. The Chef’s their food is so delicious and they were amazing people . They always greeted us with a smile on their face. Anjali is such a beautiful person the happiest person I have ever seen at Work always had such a big smile on her face and was so welcoming. Kelam and Ansari absolutely fantastic chefs as well. The atmosphere at the hot plates with the Chef was so delightful and they are so happy to see you they made me and my husband feel very special. All the staff on the platinum Island are fantastic. I’m not sure what the barman‘s name is. He was so friendly made our evenings enjoyable. The room boy was fantastic as well kept our room very clean and always give us the drinks that we asked for in the mini fridge and keep us well stocked up. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. This is my favourite place in the whole entire world. I never go back to the same hotel twice, but that’s going to change. I’m already looking into booking this hotel again. It is paradise the staff are amazing. I’m sure all Maldive hotels are amazing, but it’s a staff here that makes it perfect. Read less

All the excursions were amazing, we also done the sand bank private island dinner and I can honestly say the food was the best food we have eaten and the views were beautiful, everything was perfect! The chefs in the main restaurant were fantastic all the food was delicious as well. A massive thank you to all the staff at the resort it made for the best holiday and made our honeymoon so special. Our first visit to Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives was truly one of the most incredible experiences of our lives. So naturally, when we had the opportunity to return for a second time, we wondered whether the experience could possibly be as magical as we remembered. It was. If anything, it was even better. ❤️ From the moment we arrived, everything once again felt absolutely special. The breathtaking views, crystal-clear turquoise waters, beautiful surroundings, incredible food, and the peaceful atmosphere make Hakuraa Huraa a place that is genuinely difficult to put into words. We stayed in the Sunset Water Bungalow, and waking up every morning surrounded by endless turquoise water and falling asleep after watching some of the most beautiful sunsets imaginable felt completely unreal. The villa was stunning, spacious, beautifully maintained, and gave us the perfect combination of privacy, luxury, and peace. But what truly makes Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa so special is its people. The entire staff is absolutely fantastic. Honestly, we cannot think of a single thing to complain about. Everyone is warm, welcoming, professional, and genuinely caring. They don't simply provide great service—they make you feel like family. A very special thank you to Ushan, Riccardo, Sandun, Rumesh, and Sous Chef Chathuranga for making our stay unforgettable once again. ❤️ From the very beginning, they looked after us with so much warmth and kindness and made sure we were always comfortable, happy, and enjoying every moment of our stay. A special mention must also go to Operations Manager Kavindu, who constantly checked on us and made sure everything was perfect throughout our stay.
