Paradise island with five star service

Oh my. We had our expectations set by the lovely lady at TUI who has had numerous customers visit in the last few years, all of whom said it was wonderful. Well they were right.
The house ref was said to be excellent but the dive guide said it was only ok. Our first dive was on that house reef and we thought it was good. The next ten dives and more were elsewhere by boat and now we understand why the house reef is listed as ok. The house ref is great but the boat diving is just superb!
Abu and Sam as dive guides are knowledgeable, helpful and fun, Sam lives / comes from a couple of islands away. All of the dive team are great and it is all nicely relaxed. Kit if you need it is good quality and very reasonably priced for hire. The team set your gear up as well even if you have brought it and they remember your odd settings!
The bar is efficient and the staff remember you and your drink. Whether that is a good thing depends how often you order port wine. Thank you all especially Mifzal and Gayan. There's a second bar called Iru but generally that was empty so we stayed in the main one.
The island is an easy oval walk, the bar at one end, the restaurant at the other but the sun is merciless so cover up.
Doctor Saad was great, just needed a sign off for driving but he was relaxed and efficient.
Ok, main thing. Restaurant. You can elect to dine on the beach after dark and the set 5 course menu is good. Or you can pay extra to visit the marlin restaurant which is mostly fish and you can watch the sunset. These would be great but you are missing out on a selection of around 30 dishes each of which are excellent quality. The main buffet style self service restaurant is the hub. Just excellent food for breakfast lunch and dinner.
Breakfast highlight was unexpected as it isn't my thing. Eggs Benedict... Kinda. Toasted roll, nicely balanced guacamole, perfectly poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and a sprinkle of black pepper. That became my daily start prepared by ever smiling Sithuni, thank you!
Earnest, Prasad and sous chef Mohamed were unwavering eyes for customer happiness in the restaurant. But our pick of the crop were our own waiter Husam who was diligent, efficient and friendly, and next section waiter but also backstop to our tables, Sameer. Both of them really looked after us perfectly and made us feel even more valued and welcomed. Thank you both. Very much.
If you want paradise with every luxury on a desert island, this is pretty much it. But I wouldn't bother with the premium all inclusive, the standard all inclusive have us everything we could possibly need.
